Help getting more flavor and vapor out of Protank 2

There's two settings: constant 3.3 and variable voltage. I usually keep it on variable because it seems to get the most flavor that way.

As for my coil, I'm not sure what the resistance is. The PT2 came with two in the box. I couldn't tell the difference. Any info on what ohms come in the package?

I removed a wick and now it's flooding like crazy. I wiped and cleaned it and it just happens again. The coil won't even heat up now.

a 1.8 ohm coil head will produce more vapor, or you can rebuild your own with micro coils and cotton wick, or even SS mesh. The best way to get more vape from a PT, is to put it in the obsolete drawer or box, and get something better..

Sorry, cant help my self sometime, you know what they say, nothing worse than an ex pt user, or was that ex wife, no no, nothing worse the a ex smoker. What ever. There are several threads on the pt, and what people will do to get more out of them. But, there is only so much that a pt can deliver. Once you hit that threshold, it's time to move on.

The pt usually comes with two heads, a 1.8 and a 2.2. Whatever you do, don't remover the flavor wicks, this will cause it to flood. Flooding is not fun.

Generally, the removal of the flavor wick is not necessary and should only be done if you're having wicking issues due to your juice being too thick. As you've found out, removing that flavor wick can and often does result in a flooded Protank.

It's entirely possible you're not pushing enough power to the coil. Have you tried raising the voltage on your battery to see if things improve?

Contrary to the above advice, I say that removing both flavour wicks and replacing them with something that wicks far better is the way I have found to work. I used 2mm ekowool, and it both tastes and vapes better

[edit] erm... that sounded wrong and downright rude to the poster immediately before me. Not my intention. Sorry

I was thinking my battery was part of the reason too.
So anyway, I replaced the head with the second one (2.2) and wow! It's working like a dream. The flavor is better, even though still muted, and it's producing a lot more vapor.

I will attempt a cotton or silica wick and kanthal coil rebuild once this head is toast.

Should I be using blue or orange light on the eGo C with my 2.2 head?

Good form! This is the option I'd recommend (and do recommend, much too frequently probably).

However, if you're new to coil building - there's a simpler option: simply take a pair of tweezers and slide-out the silica wick from your ProTank head, roll-up a thin piece of cotton (from %100 cotton balls or the like) and stick it in there; there are many threads about this all over ECF.

You want more flavour? Go cotton - you won't be sorry, and won't look back!

I was thinking of doing that today. Funny you mention!
I wonder how many times I can replace the wick until the coil goes bad. Any idea?

Replacing is not the same as removing.

If you remove the flavor wicks your tank will leak like a sieve. They are there for a reason. Even people who recommend removing flavor wicks only recommend removing 1 strand--2 tops--if the juice is really thick and just won't wick well.

If you replace them with a different type of wick of approximately the same thickness, you'll be fine.
