Ok, So I hear it is possible to mod a 510 cart for the new AVS (well i heard about it with the AFSv2 but i assume it wouldn't me much different on the new AVS).

So if someone could explain to me the supplies needed and the steps needed to get it done it would be highly appreciated...

I'm about to order the complete upgrade kit from VK..Just wondering what else I need. The 1 thing i have plenty of is carto's... I would just use a imeo atty i6 but VK is sold out so i must find a alternative...

Sorry this has already been talked about I'm sure I did a quick skim of the other threads but didn't see anything but don't really have much time to go through all the old threads..Thanks in advance.

Even if you could point me in the right direction with a link to another thread that would be appreciated.

Hi there. This is a good question. All I know is to use an adapter on the GGTS in order to use a 510 cart or carto. Some ppl have mentioned that the adapter needs to be filed down a little for it to fit but some had tried it without any mod. I haven't tried it myself but would like to know exactly what is needed to be done to use 510 on GGTS.
Thanks

In using this particular method the brass Atty connector needs to be filed .05 off of it so you can screw a 510 directly onto it. The other method of a connector is not perfected by anyone really yet, I have a special connector that I made for using a 510 on my AFS that does work but they where hand made on a lathe. As far as the AVS it actually is much different as the Atty connector is completely different. Imeo should be coming out with a connector for both but it probably won't be until Sept or Oct that you see this in my opinion only, but I think you will see this in the future. Also remember if you take a nail file to your original connector and take off .05 you wont be able to screw on a 901 any more. I would wait a while and stick with the 901's HV, and try a LR901 with your AFS I have been running some of these on both AFS & AVS and like the performance and taste of the vapor. Hope this gives you some wanted info.

I've been using a standard 901 to 510 chinese adapter. I take a file and file the four grooves deeper on the atty side of the adapter. It doesn't work well with VG based juices but with PG or PG with 20% VG it works pretty well. By the way this is with a LR510 atomizer. I believe 510 cartomizers will work as well you just won't be able to use Imeo's mouthpiece.

The adapter I made I took a bandsaw and made these cuts with a very fine blade up the sides where those groves are, this will allow your liquid to get in.

Matt are you talking about making it look like the connector on the older version of the GGTS where the rethreader threads into?

Hi harpo, how's the dried out atty issue you had before? Has it been resolved yet?

One thing, what makes the difference by filing the adapter (what's the logic i mean) and how deep do you file it?

Thanks

At first I was just using the adapter with no modification and VG juice. I fried two atties. Now it works great. This way wasn't allowing enough juice in the two holes in the threaded side of the atty.

I made the grooves about twice as deep. This allows the juice to flow better IMO.

You can also drill holes around this adater on the same side of the grooves, I have 2 adapter I made one I did what harpo is saying and made my cuts as deep as I could get them and as many as I could to let as much liquid in as possible. On the second adapter I made which in my opinion works way better I took my drill press and drilled 5 holes in the adapter all around it towards where the Atty would seat at the bottom of the adapter, this lets Liquid flow freely into the bottom of the 510 Atty and is a much better method than cutting the slits in the adapter in my opinion

Pete I think they where 1/16 or 1/32 holes, You finally got it out of me Pete, hahaha

Yeah it's about damn time. JK. This was going to be my next mod. I just wasn't sure how many holes to drill. I'll try it tomorrow at my buddies shop. He has a drill press. I need to order more adapters I'm down to my last three or four.

ok, I think im getting the gist of it, thanks everyone

so what im gathering is this..I need a 901 to 510 adapter..Then i simply need to drill 5 equally spaced 1/32" or 1/16" holes in the bottom of the apapter on the 510 connection side near the bottom of it?

thanks again everyone..

P.S Im a 6v vaper... I tried LR atties on a 3.7v battery and just couldn't get into them got the burnt taste way to often though i guess if its sitting in liquid i wouldn't get the taste anymore...I do have 2 of Imeo's i3 atties i just wanted to use 6 volts so figured 510 cartomizers where my best bet...

If i order a HV 910 atty all i would have to do for it is simply drill one hole the size of the one in imeos's i3 atty correct?
