Yeah they do. I screwed my Hippo on too tight once. I had to use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the pin back up out of the ProVari.

Maybe this will help, just combine this what all that I have said

I should have read this thread before replying to you on the other thread. :(
The problem is not on the ProVari's end. Don't mess with the center pin on the ProVari unless you get an OP reading (when you check oHms) on everything you screw into the ProVari.

@MontanaDoc: This is a known issue with Provaris and Protank IIs. Went through the same frustrations as you when I first got my Provari. There are really two simple options to choose from in my mind (I've done both myself):

1) Fix the airflow issues on the Provari side by getting a Hippo v2 beauty ring. It's a bit pricey at $40, but it adds much needed airflow controls and an adjustable center pin to the Provari (not to mention it makes everything look beautiful when flush mounted). This entirely fixed all my issues with the Protank II. VapeRev sells them (Hippo V2 SS - Transformers - Accessories).

2) Or just ditch the Protank entirely and go with a better topper that has airflow control. I personally recommend the Aspire Nautilus, but I've heard decent things about Kanger's Aerotank as well. Or you can take it further and enter the realm of rebuildables and get a Russian or Kayfun or a clone of those (most of which have airflow controls).

Hope this helps. Keep calm and vape on the cig-a-likes in the mean time :)
