I bought the Prosmoke. I like it's size (similar to an analog). I like the black one because it doesn't look like an analog. For my first ecig I think I like it. I think I need a stronger nic level, but otherwise I'm ready to make the switch to vaping.

However, I don't think the prosmoke will meet my needs and wants. They only have 5 or so flavors. They say the battery lasts the longest but if I use it regularly it only lasts maybe what 2 analogs would be. Is this normal for a mini? I think it's considered a mini. And it's not compatible with any other brand, I asked customer service.

What I want is a slightly longer battery, I want a battery that will last basically all day. I want to be able to choose from many flavors. I'm not sure I'm ready to drip yet, maybe if it's not complicated, messy, and will last all day. I work in a cube in a professional office and I'm trying to be discrete. I don't want a huge weird looking monster of a thing. I'm thinking chrome and blue LED. There are a lot of links to a lot of different websites here, but I want to make sure I'm buying a quality product. Please help, I need advise!

Hi and welcome aronie82, I'm so happy you found this forum. There are many quality starter e cigs out there. Unfortunately you have to wade through all of the junk and scams. My best advice for quality, price and great battery life is the eGo/Riva clone. They are both outstanding and the batts will last a heavy smoker between 6-11 hours depending on which size you choose. Example eGo 600 mah=6ish hours 1100 mah 11 ish hours. Liberty-flights have great prices and equally great customer service and return policy's. If your not interested in dripping go for the Boge 2.0 ohm cartomizers. They rock!

Here's the thing with batteries:

The smaller the battery, the shorter the battery life. There's no two ways about it, it's physics. In order to get a battery that lasts all day you have to get a fatter battery - about the size of a smallish cigar.

NOW, that doesn't mean you have to get a monster e-cig to get satisfaction. If you are absolutely sold on having a smaller e-cig you could find one that can use a PCC (personal charging case) so that you will be able to have a charged battery on hand wherever you go.

Since you are averse to dripping, you might like the vapor king model (aka KR808D1) from vapor4life. OR, if you are ready to try a bigger battery that will last you all or most of the day you might like the Go-Go. The Go-Go cartomizers also hold 3ml of e-juice too, so one should last you all day (no fiddling around with it for a whole day, wow).

Good luck! :)

Welcome! I agree with Beans . . . I am a semi-heavy vaper, and after using the 510 for about a month, I went with the joye ego starter kit from Liberty Flights also. I am able to use 1 fully charged battery most of my working day. That's the 600. Liberty Flights has good prices, and I can usually receive my products in about 3 days here on the East Coast.
Good luck and welcome to the forum!!

no analog-sized pv will last all day. i'd suggest an Echo. they are about the diameter of a standard cigar, the cartomizers hold *3.5mls* of liquid, they do not leak, and you have the choice of anywhere from a 650mah to a 1300mah, *quality* auto battery. they come in both black and chrome, and they are available with a blue LED (as well as other colors). -- check out "The Echo Thread" for tons more info.

(i started out with a super mini, then a mini, then an ego-t, then a regular ego, before getting the Echo...it is the most hassle-free PV around, by far. it lasts me all day and into the next -- no changing a thing!)

oh, and btw, you'll then have literally *thousands* of flavors to choose from, as you can simply buy whatever bottle of e-liquid you want from whatever vendor you choose, and fill the cartomizers yourself (SUPER quick and easy -- hey, if i can do it... :D)...it's also a whole lot less expensive than constantly buying them pre-filled.

Their customer service rep lied to you. No vendor is going to manufacture their own model. They bought it from a manufacturer who also supplies other vendors. But, of course, to protect sales, they lied and said it was not compatible with others. Problem is, it’s up to you to search your e-cig to find out what the model is. ECF is great for finding this information. But, if you are looking for a replacement, definitely look at an eGo or Riva from Liberty-Flights.com.

Looking at similarities, it may be an M401 or M402. You can easily find replacements and cartridges for those models. Check out LiteCigUSA.net

Yeah, OP I hear ya. For the last 9 months I had been searching for a PV that looks like a Marlboro 100, gives great flavor, vapor and TH, and lasts all day. So far my conclusion is that it doesn't exist. I did find numerous PVs that delivered great flavor, vapor and TH and that lasted for more than a full day before recharging or refilling but none of them look like cigarettes. After a while, I realized that I had quit smoking cigarettes and the last thing I really wanted was a device that looked like I was still smoking cigarettes. Go figure......

Sounds to me like you're looking for a smaller sized PV, probably smaller than the "cigar-size" that everyone is recommending. One thing I haven't seen anyone mention is the "mega" mini batteries. You can get them in 510 and KR808D-1. The 510 mega is a 280mAh battery, and the KR808D-1 mega is 380. Yours that you currently have is probably 100-180.

I currently use the KR808D-1 mega. I vape just like I would smoke analogs. I just go every hour or so for a few minutes...about as long as it would normally take me to smoke an analog. The battery itself (without a cartomizer) is a couple centimeters longer than a "100" analog. When I throw a cartomizer on it, the total length is about 13.5 centimeters but it's still the 9mm in diameter that your current one probably is.

Yes, I'm looking for something that is not the size of a cigar. As I mentioned I'm trying to be discrete at work. I asked my boss about vaping at my desk (thank goodness he's a smoker and has heard of ecigs). He said that if the smell bothers anyone then I would have to stop, but he's not sure as to the policy at our building. So as long as nobody really notices I think i'm good.

I was looking at the Joye 510 on the libertyflights site and that looks just about perfect. That's a website I haven't found yet. Thanks for the heads up! I'm trying to find something that I'll be happy with for a while, otherwise I don't see how I'm saving money.

Many many new vapers want something the size of a cigarette. Many also want auto batteries which for a variety of reasons are inferior to manual batteries. I knew to buy manual batteries but I started with a tiny cigarette and 3 weeks later I was buying 2 different e-cigs.

A longer battery will not last all day. Batteries have mah ratings. If a normal resistance atomizer or cartomizer is used then 100mah is about equal to 1 hour of moderate vaping

Joye 510 180mah
Joye 510 mega xl 280mah
Vapor4Life/KR808D-1 shorty 180mah, standard 280mah, xl (very long) 380mah

Then you have to go beyond the slim models
Ego or Riva 510 and other fat battery models - 650mah to 1300mah
Mod boxes - similar life depending on the size of the box and voltage (more/bigger batteries in mods make either more charge life or more voltage)

If you really want slim, then can you charge batteries at work? And how long each day are you totally away from AC or USB power? (and note - if you mostly vape neat power you can use a passthrough and vape off AC). You could do like I do and carry a lot of charge batteries AND a charged PCC and have chargers at work as well as a PT for emergencies.

I think the new autos work awesome so if you want a cig size or a larger 650 or 1300 don't be afraid to buy the automatic. They are greatly improved over older autos and should not be lumped in the same barrel. I definately don't want to turn this into an auto versus manual thread but certain posters slam autos on every post and happen to post on every new thread so until they have tried the new autos I wouldn't take their opinion seriously.

I find that since it isn't hot on the end like a regular cig, it doesn't matter how you hold it...so whatever type you figure out a comfortable way. I want to upgrade from my reg 510 to some big ol fatty that will vape all day too!

I love the 510, I may just get the mega battery and try that. I love the passthrough, and I use that at home and in the car.

I do want something for the rest of the time though.

The “Best” Electronic Cigarette | Vaping Guides I would suggest reading through this guide first to make an educated decision about your ecig choice. Tho' it Seems like the favorite model most used by people on the ECF is the EGO/RIVA. And a certain thread on this forum stated what mistakes we made as first time vapers and the majority did say they started with a mini and should have gone with the FAT BATT from the beginning. Ahhh...lots of good wisdom here on the forum for sure. Just don't go wasting your money on something that a month from now that doesn't suit your needs.
Happy Hunting :)
