I've been vaping for 2 months, and everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago. I started craving analogs REALLY bad! I didn't change anything up, I was doing the same thing I had been doing, but out of nowhere I started feeling like my e-cig wasn't doing it for me anymore! I really REALLY do not want to go back!!! Has anyone else had this happen to them? What's going on? What do I do?

I was the same exact way. Had a pack in hand and was SO close to having another... but I decided to dive into a variable voltage device to up the vape and it kept me from going back and I ended up throwing away the pack. I had another close call further down the road and ended up stepping my vape game up and going into high wattage vaping with mechanicals and sub-ohm. I would suggest upping the wattage a bit... so if you are using a cig-a-like.. upgrade to an ego... if you are vaping an ego (or similar) then upgrade to a variable voltage and/or variable wattage APV... if you are already using an APV then I suggest maybe going into mechanicals and rebuildables.

I agree to double check your nic strength. I had a massive craving about 2 weeks ago. Me and a friend grabbed a burger from 5 guys which makes a great bacon burger, anyways after downing more food than I should the "after meal cigarette" crushed me. Luckily I keep a tobacco flavor handy just in case. In that moment, with out that tobacco juice, I would have bought a pack for a single smoke. Mind you I do not like tobacco flavors. But for the next 20 mins that Carolina Tobacco was my best friend. Upgrading you device may not be a bad idea either. Nothing resparks your interest like a new toy.

Nic strength is another factor but you have to figure that with the efficiency of the delivery.

Example: 6 watts, I would want to vape 18mg. But, 20 watts I would not want to vape 18mg, it would put me on the floor, and I would vape 6-8mg instead.

The higher the power, typically the lower the mg of nic.

And yeah, new toys tend to help ;)

Yup - cravings happen and cravings pass too. The time between craving fits and their intensity fritters out over time. From my perspective I can't remember the last time I had a craving fit. It was well over a year ago.

So, what to do? Short term: chain vape if you must. It does help. As others have already said - get the next higher nic level in your liquids too. For my first four months I used two different nic levels. For me, normally 24 mg. But I had to bump to 30 mg during craving fits. And for me that was a problem first thing in the morning and the last couple hours before bed. You have flexibility here - change your nic level up - or down - as needed.

Change flavors too. Even just a different flavor experience can be enough of a distraction to make a craving fit a lot better.

Can't give you a good answer without knowing what you are using. But, I find that keeping a NJOY King disposable (max strength, 4.5%) in my glove box helps when those cravings come to call. A few puffs on that will normally eliminate any strong cravings that I have. That said, I haven't needed to touch mine in 4 or 5 months now.

i slipped a few times on the road to stopping, so once in a while i don't think is too bad - everyone is different though.

I'd suggest you change it up a bit - assuming you're keeping up with your gear (change heads, etc), try different flavors. One flavor was good to start, but now i have a rotation. currrently 3 i switch between all day - a strong menthol for the throat hit (Halo Subzero, or Durasmoke classic menthol), something darker (Flux Rampage), and something lighter and fruity (depending what i have. Frankenvape, Monroe, Hurricane vapor Pineapple cheesecake)

When that happens to me, I usually end up going to my local vape store and spend some time looking around at the new toys and usually end up buying another bottle of juice, or a tank or maybe even a new device.....i have my eye on a mvp.... however i love my itaste vv 3.0
lately with the sub zero temps the chicago area has been having i just go to my local coffee shop by the train station and watch people have to go outside to smoke while i can sit inside with my itaste and not freeze.

I hesitate to suggest this, because it probably works for some people and not others... But... You could just go ahead and have a cigarette. After 2 months vaping you might be shocked at how nasty it tastes and how it doesn't really address your craving like you thought it would. Some people do vape while tapering down cigarettes, and many eventually get to 0 cigarettes. Others here will probably disagree with this suggestion, and I do see where they are coming from, but I think in some cases it's the 'forbidden' aspect that is so tempting when trying to change a habit. When I started vaping, I did not think it was going to work. I thought maybe I'd cut down, but not quit. For that reason I did not have the pressure of 'must not smoke' hanging over my head, and I know for me that helped the transition go easier. Everyone is differ though, so take it for what it's worth.

I really think you should give us some more information before we make a lot of recommendations though.

Keep a higher nic juice on hand for those days that your cravings seem to be getting the better of you. Best of luck to you!!! :toast:

I use a variable volt/watt device, so I tend to kick up the power when a craving hits really bad. Also, I actually did cave once I quit smoking for a week, and I couldn't even finish the cigarette, it was so nasty. So, that memory is pretty handy to pull up when I get a craving. It's probably not the best advice to give, but you can try a cigarette and see if you experience the nastiness. I'd also get at least one bottle of the next level up in nic.
