I found PG to be harsh when I first started vaping so I switched to high percentage VG within a couple of weeks. PG made me cough. I eliminated PG eventually.This isn't unusual for many vapers. Keep in mind that a sore throat is just one of the many symptoms people get when they quit smoking or cut down the smoking a lot. The symptoms may continue until smoking is completely stopped.

Thanks for your response! I didn't realize that a sore throat can be a symptom of quitting smoking. I wonder why that is? I think since I had more symptoms that is was something in the ejuice but quitting smoking could have made my throat worse.

I can't help you as I am new to vaping and haven't had any issues. However I wanted to say that I really hope you can figure it out because you seem to really want vaping to work for you and to get off the analogs.

Thanks for your kind words and I really hope as well that I can find a combination that I can tolerate. I like vaping and I really believe this could be my alternative to Ciggaretts

It doesn't make the slightest difference if the plants are organically raised or not. Glycerin is glycerin. If you distill water from an organic range-raised heritage corn plant and distill water from a genetically engineered corn plant raised on chemical fertilizer in a hydroponic tub and compare the two you will get the same identical chemical (H2O) from both. Same goes if you make glycerin from the plants.

It's not the organic purity of the glycerin I am worried about it's everything else like diacetyl, artificial ingredients, preservatives or food coloring...especially the artificial flavoring that is just a bunch of chemicals as Opposed to real flavor extracted from plants, fruits, and nuts.

I definitely have a PG sensitivity.
I ordered some samplers from HHV & I can't tolerate any of them.
They make me cough, dry out my mouth & sinuses & give me a sore throat & headache.

I also ordered a bottle from their Purity line.
(All flavor ingredients are PG free including 100% organic VG if desired.)
I haven't had an issue with this one.

I'm a menthol smoker, as well, & actually try to stay away from menthol.
It irritates my throat. Lol.
The mint flavors just taste like toothpaste.

Thank you very much! That's what I wanted to hear! Finally someone that has similar problems with ejuice. I wonder if it's pg and maybe something else that we are reacting to like artificial flavoring or one of the other non essential additives some ejuices have?

Were all the 100% VG flavors you tried menthol?

Sometimes, while the base of the juice is 100% VG, the flavor may have PG. I find that I cannot even tolerate that.

Do you know if you have a sensitivity to food coloring?

I really think you're on the correct path & I hope you find your sweet spot soon....

Yes they were mostly menthol or mint flavor like peppermint or wintergreen. I tried one called thug juice that was a watermelon menthol but I could badly taste any menthol and it was100vg non organic with the same symptoms.

Do you mind if I ask what you use to vape? I was also wondering if you had any problems with the silica wicks? Or do you make your own cotton ones? I have a protank2 and ce4's but I highly doubt the silica wicks are the problem

Thanks Shane

You are for sure not alone. From the start, I've usually just vaped organic and all VG. I eat all organic so just thought I'd follow suit when I dropped the smoke and took up vaping. But I have about a dozen samples of juice from Halo. Good juice but no way to tell what the PG/VG ratio is. Although I hadn't vaped much of it I did notice a slight sore throat from the Halo juice and suspected the PG. A few nights ago I mixed one of the Halo juices half with straight VG and vaped away thinking a small amount of PG might not bother me. Within an hour I noticed my throat getting sore. By the end of the evening not only did I have a very raw sore throat but even had swollen glands in my neck. I've since stayed away from PG and my symptoms have almost completely disappeared. Thank goodness. So it's all VG for me now and I'll stick with organic flavorings too just to be on the safe side.

I would love some juice recommendations...

I would recommend Virgin Vapor. They have a pure VG line, called Absolute Virgin, which I have been vaping for the last few weeks. In particular, two flavors that I have really enjoyed are Organic Shell Shocked (hazelnut), and their Kona Milkshake, which is one of the richest tasting flavors I have ever had.

They have a sampler pack for $13.50 so you can try flavors.

Good luck,
Brian

I think you should get yourself a few samples of unflavoured, low nicotine, in different pg/vg ratios and try them out;

seems to me its not clear whether you are having a problem with pg or vg; got to figure out if it is one, and if so, which one.

And what are you vaping with?
Maybe you're using a plastic tank and it's causing a problem; maybe you're burning eliquid and getting fumes;
