You may try a lower nicotine level as well. It could be an irritating factor as well.

You are for sure not alone. From the start, I've usually just vaped organic and all VG. I eat all organic so just thought I'd follow suit when I dropped the smoke and took up vaping. But I have about a dozen samples of juice from Halo. Good juice but no way to tell what the PG/VG ratio is. Although I hadn't vaped much of it I did notice a slight sore throat from the Halo juice and suspected the PG. A few nights ago I mixed one of the Halo juices half with straight VG and vaped away thinking a small amount of PG might not bother me. Within an hour I noticed my throat getting sore. By the end of the evening not only did I have a very raw sore throat but even had swollen glands in my neck. I've since stayed away from PG and my symptoms have almost completely disappeared. Thank goodness. So it's all VG for me now and I'll stick with organic flavorings too just to be on the safe side.

^^^ True for me...

BTW, I found lower nic levels worked better for me too. Nothing above 12 and I was a 1.5 PAD smoker for 40+ years!

I would recommend Virgin Vapor. They have a pure VG line, called Absolute Virgin, which I have been vaping for the last few weeks. In particular, two flavors that I have really enjoyed are Organic Shell Shocked (hazelnut), and their Kona Milkshake, which is one of the richest tasting flavors I have ever had.

They have a sampler pack for $13.50 so you can try flavors.

Good luck,
Brian

I think you should get yourself a few samples of unflavoured, low nicotine, in different pg/vg ratios and try them out;

seems to me its not clear whether you are having a problem with pg or vg; got to figure out if it is one, and if so, which one.

And what are you vaping with?
Maybe you're using a plastic tank and it's causing a problem; maybe you're burning eliquid and getting fumes;

Thank all of you so much for taking the time to respond to me and trying to help me out. I really appreciate it.

Ok so here is my update.....

I am thinking the nicotine level is part of my problem as well. I was vaping 18mg and that is pretty high especially when I'm vaping quite often throughout the day.

I ordered new orgainic juice from 3 different vendors and went down in my nicotine level. I ordered a 3 sample form absolute line of virgin vapors. I ordered watermelon, vanilla and orange cream from the absolute line all were 12mg nicotine like you guys suggested. I also ordered a small bottle of wintergreen 12mg as well from their regular line. I ordered a small(15ml) bottle of ice beard menthol from velvet cloud vapor that was 12mg nicotine. And I also ordered a 15ml bottle of pepperment passions from guilty pleasure organics but that one was 16mg of nicotine because that and no nicotine are the only options for all there flavors. I haven't heard much about guilty pleasure orgainics a but I really wanted to try something from them based on the description of their ejuice and their ingredients. Everything I ordered from all the vendors was 100% vg btw.

I was also thinking if the nicotine level is still high for me and I'm still getting irritation I might add a little distiller water or get a bottle of unflavored or a very mild flavor of another organic 100% vg and add little of that in to lower the nicotine level if the 12mg is too high.

I currently have 5 brand new ce4's and a protank 2 I plan or using when I receive all the new ejuices. I do have to give the protank a good cleaning before I use it again though. And I don't think the plastic ce4 tanks are the problem with my reactions because I am getting the symptoms from the glass protank2. The more I think about it I think it's either the nicotine, pg, or something artificial in the ejuices I have used.

Thank you guys again for your replies and let me know if you have any more suggestions

I have not suffered any symptoms of this nature at all, but I tend to not be allergic to anything except pollen in the spring time. You might check out Alien Visions E-Juice. They do use 100 percent VG in most of their juices and when they don't they let it be known. Though I haven't had to check out whether organic or not so you might want to research that a bit. Hope that helps even a little. Bobas Bounty is a bit cliche, but it really is good.

get a bottle of unflavored or a very mild flavor of another organic 100% vg
I've done a lot of homework on this and although most people don't care it sounds as though you're in to organics as much as I am. I found two VGs that I felt comfortable with. One is made by "Dr. Adorable" and can be purchased on Amazon. The other is Vegetable Glycerin - Bulk Herb Store
At some point you may want to consider DIY. It's really very easy and good supplies of organics from Naked Nicotine.

Another fine 100% VG eliquid maker is Potion Vape. I've ordered from them several times, about a dozen different flavors in all and have only found one flavor I didn't like. I've not yet tried Potion Vape's mint eliquid but you can find it here: Mint Groove

"The OrganaTine line uses ONLY Vegetable Glycerin giving you a true 100% PG free e-liquid."

Welcome to ECF! :)

Thanks so much for the replies. I'll see how these 3 vendors are and if they work out for me I think I will try some from ecblends

I'm considering getting a bottle of ice beard from velvet cloud vapors with 0mg nicotine and mixing a tiny amount of that with other flavors I got that are 12mg nicotine in case the 12mg is still too high for me and I'm still getting flu like symptoms with that a sore throat.

I had a similar reaction the first week that I started vaping. What seems to help the most was being careful about how I inhale the vapor. Pulling the vapor fast, straight into my lungs, was terribly hard on my throat and made it very sore. As long as I draw the vapor only into my mouth and then take a small lung inhale (sometimes) before exhaling it's much much better. Dropping the nicotine from 18mg to 12mg also helped.. "massively". That helped so much and I didn't have to go to vg liquids at all. I did get some pure organic vg liquids from Virgin Vapor to try but they're still steeping.

Simply changing the way I inhaled from short, hard "cigarette style" lung inhales to slower, longer "cigar style" mouth inhales made a world of difference for me. Lowering the nicotine strength was another huge step in relieving the throat discomfort. I just switched to 6mg liquid today. So far so good but I'm left with a LOT of 12mg liquids.

Thanks for the response, I really think that the high 18mg might be my biggest problem that's giving me those symptoms. Thanks for the inhaling advice but I already do it that way. As I added before all the new eliquid I just purchased will be 12mg except the stuff from guilty pleasure organics which their only option was 0mg or 16mg. But I just purchased another 15ml bottle of ice beard from vcv with 0mg nicotine that I can mix a tiny bit in with other juices in cause the 12 mg is still too much for me

I just created a new thread yesterday not having seen this one. I have been having the same symptoms, started vaping about a month ago now, started with Blu which tasted like burned logs and gave me an instant sore throat. Got a Joye 510, started dripping different juices but was still having the dry sore throat issue. Bought an Ego style with an Evod tank, tried more juices and found some I liked, got off analogs all together for a week but the sore throat got so bad I had to stop vaping yesterday. Figures I ordered about 50 bucks worth of juice over the weekend at 70vg/30pg that I'm probably not going to be able to use. I'm going to try the organics regardless and see what happens. I don't think I'm allergic but the PG is probably drying out my throat. I have had no other symptoms at all but the throat issue was horrible, popping Ibuprofins most of the day and it's finally settling down this morning.

Thanks for all the responses and input everyone I really appreciate it! Free state vapors in on my radar also so I may have to check them out in the near future

Thanks again
Shane

Keep us informed, I'm having the same issues and am going to be placing a couple orders here in the next day or two. I'm a tobacco guy, non menthol, but I do like a little sweet.

I have throat issues with a lot of juices too. You might want to try Nude Nicotine. Their flavorings are made with a VG base. I really liked their strawberry banana smoothie.

Not sure what this organic craze is all about. Diacetyl is organic. I'd much rather buy a liquid that has been tested and purified of diacetyl, than one that might contain it naturally.

Your nic level might also have something to do with it, you said you were at 18 mg try something in about a 8 or 6mg that can vastly effect throat hit and soreness. I vape a 90/10 vg/pg from ruthless in 6mg and love it. If you need to chain vape to keep the nic fit at bay it's still better than analogs.Hope this helps
