so, i posted the message below on the ask the vets forum..but for some reason, i don't think it posted..so i'm hoping the ecf community may have some input..message below:

hi, i started vaping about a year ago. i started with the si volt auto battery which was great. i then got the xl auto battery which was the same, just larger.
i then got a couple of manual ego's - a regular one and a spinner.
i loved the output on them but realized i strongly prefer auto batteries and that i'm embarrassed to carry huge batteries when vaping in the street.
it's all about throat hit for me, so i started experimenting with different clearos. i tried the ce3, which was great at first, but then started to decline in new production, plus they're a hassle with syringe.
then i went on to the nano which was a total fail in my opinion.
tried the regular clearos (i think they're called ce2's) but they weren't very dependable and they leaked.
finally i discovered m3's which were a godsend at first - they had great vapor, great throat hit, and even though they sucked a lot of juice, i didn't care - because the goal is to stay away from smoking!... but then they stopped working..very tight draws, barely any vapor/throat hit..so i figured maybe it's the battery..so i ordered some kanger 808 batteries..which were ok..the m3's performed better than how they did towards the end of how they were on the volt, but the connection wasn't all that great..and it was still undependable and was kind of hit or miss.
so then i ordered the t4's, thinking they'll be my saviors. they barely worked on the volt, performed ok on the kangers...
so now...i'm getting tempted to smoke and have had a few cigs..but i want to redeem myself before it's too late!
so again, i started researching for the perfect auto batt and delivery system to accompany it, that's powerful, dependable and not too bulky. someone mentioned the echo..and i noticed some rave reviews about the echo battery.
but truth is, i'm lucky to have won some stuff on ecf - got to try a lot of great juice..but i'm so sick and tired of buying batteries and clearos, only to be disappointed.
so vets, i need your help! if you managed to get through this lengthy vaping sob story..i'd love some advice and guidance on what i should be looking into!
standing by..i'll be patient.

Can't help with the auto battery, but I highly recommend the mini vivi nova, with 1.8 ohm coils for TH and size. You can also go with the Kanger G5 clearo also with 1.8 ohm coils and a bit smaller then the mini nova.
actually i meant to mention that i heard some great stuff about the mini vivi nova, which i'd like to try but would require a compatible battery - i know it's 510 threaded - so i can use it on the ego but hopefully there's an auto out there that would be compatible. 1.8 ohm may kill the battery though, no? i'm going to look into the G5. thanks!

Time to go full circle and come to the dark side.........disposables.

If you liked the volt, try white cloud flings.

No charging, no filling, no leaks, no more money buying expensive mods........very easy.

.....just a suggestion:)
but then i can't use the amazing variety of juices that i have. i'm impressed by the pricing though. have you tried them? are they good? if so, can rec them to the friends looking to try an ecig

What nic level are you vaping? What mix of vg/pg are you using? Do you mind airy draw or tight draw? I get a massive throat hit from my Spinner/protank combo.

Please don't go back on stinkies, you will hate yourself, let someone here help :D
18 mg..between 70 to 80 pg..i try to go for more pg because it seems to flow better and i heard it has better throat hit. never had a problem with vapor on high pg when the thing works right. i don't like a tight draw..but airy is no fun if you have to continuously draw just to get some throat hit..if i'm understanding the different types of draws correctly.
you guys are awesome! i have to run out for a meeting but i'm so thankful for the support.

Yes 1.8 are a bit harder but not bad at all on batt. Yes vivi are 510, I believe u can get an adapter from thread size to thread size for most devices.

DONT use the stinkys, we're here for yah.

Yes I have used them quite a bit. They first came out at Christmas 2011.

It has a Smoktech shorty carto on it in this pic. Only thing I warn about is that you can not use heads that leak on them. I use that Boge 2ohm carto & tank on it most of the time.

I really can't answer your question because I only use cartos with a manual battery, but your qusestion to the vets should have been posted. You may not see it because once you submit it, it is sent to a separate vets forum for viewing and answering. After the vets have given all the info they have, it is then reposted for you to see. I have not been over there recently to see if it is there, but it should be.

I don't know if you have considered this yet, but Halo offers a mini tank for their G6 style ecigalikes (they are 808 threaded). In fact Halo discontinued their 510 brand and are sticking strictly to 808.

Crystal Clear | G6 Mini Tanks | Halo Cigs

They also offer the larger SI-X2 like batteries and tanks, but I gathered from your post you don't much care for the larger eGo type batteries. The Halo Triton's are like the X2's however they are shorter (no passthrough so shorter length) and it looks like they offer a 400mah version of those batteries which would be much shorter. Just a thought! (But the Triton's aren't autos)

I think that you would like the Kanger protank, I think that it would give you the hit that you are looking for without gurgles or leaks, you will try to hit it hard cause it's airy but if you do you will choke lmao. That's what I did, I had to learn to stop hitting it so hard cause even a normal hit will give you loads of vapor. If you put on on a VV battery then you can turn it up to just how you like it.

I heard that things like the blue or the or the SD Keyring have 510 connections so you could potentially put a mini vivi on them. I know the Blue is auto draw, just don't know if it has enough power for a vivi.

The OP has said she's tried a manual and spinner eGO type and is embarrassed to carry out and about because she feels they're too large. If that's the case, I doubt that a Protank is the proper solution for her due to its size.

If you're looking for good throat hit that typically requires a battery with decent power, which most autos and/or cigalikes don't provide due to their size. The eroll is a cigalike size battery that gets decent reviews from ECF vets for providing decent power for small size Joyetech eRoll Starter Kit - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

I would suggest that you take a good look at some of the larger battery devices and a cartotank juice delivery device. There a learning curve with using a cartomizer inside a tank. However, once you have learned how to properly fill a cartomizer prior to inserting it into the tank, the flavor and vapor production is second only to that of a RBA, which is another story.
