HCigar is famous for making clones, in addition to their own models, but they're also top quality in the arena. I would not hesitate to buy any of their gear. I know nothing about GearBest, I have never bought anything from them. I do use Fasttech some, and they're good people if you don't mind the 2-3 week shipping time. For an atomizer, try a Serpent SMM RTA. And get some 28ga SS316 wire and rayon wick. That's what I use and it works for me. I find 28ga is the all-around most useful size wire for anything between .4-.9Ω. If you want to vape above 1Ω, get 32ga. If you want to get really low-- I don't recommend it-- 26 or even 24ga. And take a hard look at a 521 tab ohmmeter. They're useful. You can also buy a tool kit containing one which will get you well started. Will I have problems with the company's warranty? Is it a knockoff?

Never heard of vapecrawler before reading your post. ThanksDid you try vapecrawler when you were looking for kit? I use AVS, Advanced Vape Supply, for wire and prebuilt coils. All are ss (I like 316l). Stainless steel coils/wire can be used in tc or power mode. If you're wanting an rta, Serpent SMM and OBS Engine Nano (both single coil) are good for beginners. I have a goon clone rda that provides great flavor and is fairly easy to build on. Engine dual is another good one. You will get many opinions on what's better. These work for me and my style of vaping.![]()
Thank you @Costal CowboyThank Costal Cowboy. One of his posts turned me onto it.
Is an ohm meter for testing the conductivity of a coil? Can't you just use a multimeter?
Thanks for your recommendation on the Nano, I am really loving mine and so is my brother, it is his 1st rebuildable and he loves it. These are some nice tanks, easy to build and wick and no leaks. For max VG juice though, you really need to thin out your wick tails or use rayonDid you try vapecrawler when you were looking for kit? I use AVS, Advanced Vape Supply, for wire and prebuilt coils. I use the Kendo Gold with no problems, but thinning the juice tails helps. I also ordered the regular Engine for myself and love the Velocity style build deck, but the single coil nano is best for beginners. I retired my Baby Beast and now the OBS Engines are my work and out and about tanks while my Combo RDTAs are my at home chain vapes. No more buying coils for me. I have some new twisted wire and Hive wire shots coming, I'm anxious to try some new coil builds.I just got in some Drago egyptian cotton I think could keep up with max vg. My juice is 80vg and keeping up with no issues. @gofishtx Glad to hear the two of you are enjoying the Nanos.
Not really. A multimeter isn't built to register resistances below one ohm accurately. You'd need a milliohmmeter for that, and they are hella expensive. Get a vape meter. It's cheaper and it's designed for the job. I think the 521 tab is the best available right now, but you can get an El Cheapo on eBay for under 5 bucks. Is an ohm meter for testing the conductivity of a coil? Can't you just use a multimeter?
I did some reading on info about vaping straight VG about a week ago for another thread. Seems most folks have a lot of trouble getting VG to work in any kind of a tank because it is so thick. Most of the advice I found was to take up squonking. Down side for you would be you would have to take up building, somewhat. You could buy premade coils and just learn to wick. There are a few rigs in your price range, some come in kits that include the atomizer.

I tried some diy in the early days. It was a mess and I didn't have any luck getting a good vg flavor. Or even something that wasn't bleh.
