Hey guys,

so im planning on getting an authentic mechanical mod. I realized that the clones are not very reliable, some have started great but after a few weeks theyd start showing some faulty problems. I dont know much about the best models out there for the authentic ones, i only most of those clones that are supposedly really good clones.

Im looking for a hard hitting, good looking mod with a decent price..

Im thinking of panzer or vanilla e ones but im still open for other recommendations.
thanks!

How could someone else pick out a mod for you? Plus, you gave no info that would help narrow down anything. Why no clones?? Many clones are as good or better than their authentics

because idk how most work compare to others. ive probably only have touched an authentic mod about 5 times my whole time vaping (about 4-5 months now) so idk which ones hit harder compare to others. and i already have 3 clones i wanna have something authentic for once :)

A week ago I was exactly in your shoes. All I ever had were clones. I was to the point I wanted to throw them out the window. But then I was browsing the forum and found my way into the Reo section. After drooling over the mods for a while I finally got one. 140 dollars plus 30 for a bottom feeding atty. fully mechanical bottom feeding goodness.

It sounds like a lot of money. But you buy a reo to buy the last mod you will ever need. From one person to another I highly recommend it ;) plus they come in so many different colours and finishes.

But if you aren't convinced and you don't want to make the investment. You have other good options. The nemises like earlier stated is a gorgeous mod. I wish I could recommend more but I never really was interested in the high end mods because I couldn't afford them. I put myself way behind in bills to afford the reo but it was definitly worth it. If you aren't interested I'm sure someone else would be glad to help :)

Thanks! The REO is actually one of my choices now. Ive been looking through alot of mods in the past couple of days, it is one of the good looking ones :) Im willing to spend around 200$ for the last mod im ever going to buy (atleast an authentic one) so im just making sure its worth it!

Well if you have any questions about the REO before/if you buy it you can ask me, or go to the supplies threads and hit reo's mods and there is a wealth of information from people who own them~ :)

I have an authentic Shotgun Mod from Emit Vapor. It's a one piece stainless steel tube. Comes with a 18650 and a 18350 tube. Silver plated copper contacts. I have to say it's the hardest hitting mod I have. It hits better than my full copper clones. I think the one piece tube and silver plated contacts is to blame :). Not the smallest mod out there, but I love it.

I love my Lernaia Hydra right now. The switch is an absolute dream. No magnets, no springs, barely any pressure needed to fire it, recessed ever so slightly so you can set it down without locking it and it won't fire, and a nifty locking mechanism that doesn't require a full turn and "clicks" into place. Voltage drop isn't so bad, and so far I've had no misfires. Switch is plated in gold. It's the best switch I've encountered to date. Better then the Stingray and Nemesis with the upgraded magnet due to the lack of the annoying locking ring that gets stuck. Comes with the Zorba, which turns any mechanical mod into a regulated device that can fire at up to 22 watts, although I don't use the Zorba much. It's normally a $300 set up, but vapervenue has them on sale for $150. They have the polished 22mm version, and the polished 23mm version last I checked.

Only draw back is that the tubes are reverse threaded. Takes some getting used to this way. They did it for the Zorba, although I'm not clear on why the Zorba needed that. Threading is still butter smooth though.

Tough to say you'll only want one REO. I have three... My REO 14500 mini gets some use even after 3 1/2 years... I ran a REO VV Woodville for the last 2 + years as my primary PV, but then REO just keeps coming out with more and more awesome models to choose from and the idea of the SL Grand was too much for me. The REO VV Woodville is perhaps the best mod ever made, but I just couldn't go without owning an SL. I held off as long as I could but ended up buying this last week.

Reo will likely be my next purchase. Only because I don't have anything like it yet. I have a Provari (2 actually), a clone mech (Infinite Stingray) and a genuine tube mech. I'm not a cloud chaser, so I'm not looking for the hardest hitting mod. I go for other features. Looks, a unique switch, accessory options... I like to try a bit of everything out there. Hmm... *wanders of to Reo site*

lol, this is how it starts.......

good call on going authentic, i think you'll find the mods themselves are much more addictive than the nicotine...

A voice from the OTHER side of the REO experience :)

I had one, tried it, sold it.

First off, let me say that the REO works as advertised, and that I had no problems with the function of the device.

I think that many people recommend it without mentioning it's limitations.

1) The first is it's vdrop, even with the upgraded contacts. To me, this was odd in a device that is built for what is essentially dripping.

2) Limited amount of attys that can be used and still retain the bottom feed that is, after all, the whole point.

3) The Reomiser. For all the raves I read about this atty, I wasn't particularly impressed....as a matter of fact, compared to any of my other drippers, I found it underperformed. The best point is that it's not very expensive.

This point is subjective, but it's the reason I ended up selling mine

3) The fit and finish. It's not bad, it's just that for the money, it wasn't up to snuff. For a little less money, I had a Gus, and still have a couple of Super -T's that were noticeably better. It's not that it's bad, per se, it's just not above the level of a mid level mass produced tool. For the money I spent, I wanted more.

All of this aside, I can't say not to buy it, but I find it's very overhyped. Same as the Provari...on the other hand, not only have I kept my Provari, but I keep it in steady rotation for the workday.

On a personal note, my impression was very much meh. With a better atty, maybe.

At the end of the day, I get much better flavor from a Genesis (and set up right they don't leak), and just as much vapor. Maybe one of the other bottom feeder attys could blow clouds on a REO, but that's not really my thing anyways.
