I smoked for 38 years and started vaping about 2 months ago after my sister "forced" me to buy an ego kit. Within 1 week after receiving I had quit smoking analogs entirely. I love vaping so much and of course I am so proud to have quit smoking cigs. I have 5 ego batteries and have tested many carts, tanks, clearos, LR versions of same (but of course I have not tried everything). I bought a provari a month ago and have tried to use it consistently but I always go back to the ego clearos and cartos. I have found the provari to not give good air flow (or maybe too much) and I am never as happy with a toot as I am when its from an ego device. Even putting the ego devices on the provari (with adapter), they don't produce as good a hit as the ego. I have SR and LR cartos etc. but nothing seems to matter. I want to love my provari. Does anyone have advice or device recommendations for the provari. I think its all about the amount of air flow or lack thereof. I am not sure. The larger diameter of ego things seem to provide easier and better draws. BTW, even the voltage up in the 4.1-5 range doesn't help, and usually changes the flavor of the juice. I would appreciate anytime given to this topic.

Thats why I don't understand why everything seems better on the ego batteries. I've used mostly 510 SR cartos on the provari, but I have put everything but tanks on the provari. Ego tanks I stopped using as I hate the bother with the wick stick atty. I have not tried a DCT on the provari. Is that where I may find joy with this pricey thing?

you'll like it better if you give it to me! As flintlock said you might be try a different carto/clearo. I hear the vivi nova is quite nice on the provari. What's great about vaping is you can customize your setup to your own liking. Also try a vision spinner or ego twist if you really like your egos. Note that while the provari is a great device, its not the perfect device for everyone

edit: while im not so big on filler cartos a smoktech dual coil tank carto does quite nice on the provari
Edit2: look around a bit if you like ce style cartos I've seen ce2 and ce3 flanged tank cartos

IMHO the best ecig is the one that keeps you off of the cigarettes. If its not for you, make your way to the classies and sell it. There are some set ups that people go just crazy over that are not for me. Part of the fun of vaping is trying things and finding out what works best for you -- it's not universal.

MadVapes had (the last time I checked it was out of stock) a 510-510 adapter/extender with air flow control feature. Maybe this will help.
Sounds like a connector problem to me? An adaptor seems like a potential solution to an air flow problem, if that is truly what this issue is.

The OP stated that he had tried using his ego attachments on the Provari. I've never had any ego devices and have never understood their ego "proprietary" attachment, despite being 510 threaded. Maybe someone with this knowledge can help me understand. Would there be air flow issues by using ego attachments on a Provari w/o an adaptor?

To the OP, are there any vape shops that sell advanced PV's in your area that could check out your Provari issues? If not, contact Provape customer service. From what I have read they seem very good at solutions to issues over the phone or by email.

One thing to note, which I am assuming your using a standard ego not a twist, but egos are 3.2 or 3.4 volts regulated. (I can't remember exactly but know it's surprisingly below 3.7) ; You might try lowering the voltage. Just a thought.

However if you find you enjoy the egos then I agree with others, the best Ecig is the one that keeps you off the analogs. For me that maybe my Provari, for others maybe a Zenesis, and for some an Ego. Good thing about the Provari is their resale in the classifieds is good. If you decide to part with your Provari, my bet is you won't lose an arm and a leg doing it.

Good luck in your journey!

Hi Badittude - I've seen this come up before. Apparently some folk have had a bit of an airflow issue and just use an adapter to solve the problem.

Did you buys a brand-new Provari or a used one? The reason Im asking this is because the first one I bought was used and the airflow sucked.I think this came from the previous owner screwing down the tank too hard. You can always send the Provari back to Provape and ask them to look at it for you while using the egos as backups

Not EVERYONE needs or even appreciate, higher voltage vaping.

I think those who do need it love it, but it's just not required by some vaporers.

There are a number of people on the forum who actually find themselves ignoring their more expensive equipment for some cheaper do-dad they found and liked.

It just goes to prove one person's solution may not work for others.

But here's hoping you fall in love with your Provari. If not, it will re-sell quickly in the classifieds here.

A Provari is just another battery when you come right down to it. Ie. it provides current to your cartomizer.

When you say that airflow is a problem, do you mean that your carto fits too snugly or something and the draw is tight and stiff? I can't understand how that can be unless you have a tank system sitting flush on the top (which you don't) and blocking air.
Are your batteries fully charged? Have you increased the voltage on the Provari? Do you know how to set it? The reason I ask is that it comes in bubble wrap in an envelope, with no instructions or anything whatsoever! If that is the case, Just google ProvarI User's manual, and you should find it easily online.

By the way, a Vision Vivi Nova works very nicely with the Provari :).

P.S. I prefer my eGo batteries too!

Yes, Egos are 3.3-3.4 v. Good thought - it may be a matter of going lower rather than higher on the provari.

The center post on the Provari is made onto the circuit board, and the circuit board is fitted into a tight groove. I don't think that the center pin can be pushed down.

Yes it can, I already stated that in my earlier post. Were not talking about a lot of give there but even a sixteenth of inch can make a difference.

If any of you have ever dropped a Provari and had it land sideways on the tank or clearomizer it can also cause the post to get a little wiggly and that can also cause airflow problems that can be fixed by adjusting the tilt of the tank or clearomizer slightly.

My first Provari that was used was like this, my new one is rock solid.
