Okay, so my mind is pretty much already made up, but alas, choices still loom. Taxes come back hubby and I are both getting a Provari, but which is the question for me. I kinda like the looks of the mini better than the standard, right now I'm vaping with a 1300mAh spinner and its pretty long. I'd like something shorter and feel that the mini would be a good option for me. I know, however, that there are those of you in here who own both. The intention is that a provari mini will be my main device and pretty much be my sidekick, going everywhere with me. This forum has turned me into a nutcase with all of these choices and options... three weeks ago I barely knew what vaping was, two weeks ago I was trying to decide which cheap option to go with... a few days ago I'm all "LET'S GO PROVARI!!" For the first time EVER we are actually getting our taxes done in January so we can get the money back and order!

1. Is there really THAT much of a difference in the life of the variety of battery sizes available for the Provari's? Obviously the larger the battery the longer the life, but seriously is it worth the extra length of the mod if I'm wanting something smaller? I like the mini but hubby is saying that they are the same price, why wouldn't I get the larger one. I kind of agree but I'm being vain and like the looks of the mini better. He's also interested in the answer for the life of the batteries before they require recharging.

2. Warranty, is the extended warranty worth it? How many of you in here who have bought it have actually needed it? For that matter how many of you in here have needed the warranty at all? I hear their repair costs are pretty reasonable.

3. To extention cap or not to extention cap. Does it defeat the purpose of having a mini if you spend the extra $20 on the extention? Again we go back to question #1, is a 18490 going to really make it worth it over an 18350?

PS, yay on hitting one week since my last cigarette! We are confident enough that we will continue to vape we are selling our rolling machine setup for cigarettes. Its awesome that we've had about a pack worth of cigarettes rolled up for the last week and a half and have NO interest in touching them.

I have a standard size, because I know I vape a ton,,,,,,,,,I can kill a 2600mah battery in six hours. Absolutely no need for the mini for me,,,,

so my question is, how often do you need to charge the 1300? does it last all day? you'd be fine with a mini,,,,,,,,,,,if you charge that thing 2x a day, get yourself a standard (which is only 3/4 of an inch longer than the mini),,,,,,,,

Most of us didn't buy the 2nd year warranty, because it's so darned cheap to fix,,,,,,,I'm sure there have been cases of people WISHING they'd bought one 2 days into the second year,,,,,,,but I haven't heard of any,,,,

if I were you,,,,I'd buy the extension and at least one battery to fit the extension,,,,,you never know when you might need extra battery life without worrying about changing batteries,,,,,,,,I wish I'd gotten one, and it's on my list for my hubby to get me for my birthday :)

Honestly... my 1300mAh battery... I got it on a Wednesday night, didn't charge it before using and it lasted me until Saturday night. I charged it Saturday night, last night finally just put it on the charger so it wouldn't take a poop on me at work today. I'm also vaping 18mg and 12mg, I'll be dropping to less here soon as I order more, so assume I'll be vaping more... I've been on a crazy nic high the last week from vaping so much... I'm using a mpt2 tank on my spinner and I don't quite go through a tank a day, so between 1ml and 1.5ml in a day.

I have both, and my go-to setup for both is an 18490!
I find a pretty big diff between 18350 and 18490. Maybe because the range is "OK to run around with" and one isn't!!
Meaning, if you're leaving the house for work sporting an 18350, you need to carry another battery. With 18490, you don't. Kinda.
People get pretty wide range of times - but for me it's like 3-4 hours, vs 6-8 hours.

You may want to get a mini with extension cap - it's the most flexible option because you're set for SMALL (18350), you're set for "Pretty Much All Day (18490) and you COULD even later add a 3rd party "ring" and extend it for 18650. You cannot do 18350 in a standard...

I don't think the extended warranty is critical for a couple reasons:
1 - they don't break, much
2 - A YEAR from now, you may want something new anyhow
3 - ProVape has surprisingly reasonable repair costs AFTER warranty anyway!

I have two minis. I like the shorter size and my hands are small. There is a big difference in battery life, I get about 4 hours from a 18350. I don't mind carrying two extra batteries with me when I'm out and about. I did get an extension cap with my first mini but have never used it, mainly because I'm too lazy to charge the 18490 batteries up. I just keep a bunch of 18350's in rotation. With my second one, I didn't bother buying the extension cap. If hubby gets the standard size one, would be easier to jack one of his batteries once in a while if you plan to need a longer battery life. :)

I bought the extended warranty but it's not worth it. Repairs after the year warranty is over are reasonably cheap so there's no need for it.

The BIG question: What color/color LED are you getting?

I did not get the extended warranty, I rarely do on anything as I consider it a waste of money.

I have both.

the Mini stays home because an 18490 rarely makes it through the day for my. I need the 18650, I can carry extra batteries with me most days. Those days I would rather carry an extra mod with me than an extra battery so I can 2 juice vape or even 3.

I did buy the extension caps for my full size. I bought the Zombie edition and I read somewhere to order the cap with so they could make sure the pattern matched. I bought the Mini used but it came with an extension cap.

Interestingly enough, I have never brought both with me during the day. If I bring 2 or more mods I usually bring mechs or the MVP2 along with.

So for me

no 18350, except for home sometimes.
18490 if I have to, but I need to bring a spare if the PV is going to be my all day vape.
18650 is my usual battery.

And if you ever decide you need the 18650 in your PV mini see CommaHolly's post above. Tatroe has some cool stuff for the Provari.

I use Ikenvape, Smok, and Boge cartos in IBTanked tanks. I use the standard resistance, I think it's 2.4 ohms. They work well with a ProVari. I like the Ikenvape cartos the best as they seem to last longer with the dark, sweet juices I use.

What atomizers or cartomizers does everyone run on their Provairs? What ohms? I feel in love with the Aspire Nautilus when I was planning to do a non-adjustable mod. It runs well at 1.6 to 2.4 ohms. Would it still work well on the Provari?

I think the mini with the standard cap and the extended cap would be perfect for you. Like someone else said, 2 of each battery size. The vape time between the 350 and the 490 is significant. 350s last me about half a day. You can always carry extra batteries, but then you have to be diligent about charging when you get home. Like a couple of people have mentioned, you can get an 18650 extension cap for the mini.

I did not get the extended warranty in my first, and wouldn't you know mine did have to be sent for repairs after the warranty was over. However, provape did not charge me for the new circuit board. For that reason I did get the extended warranty on my second. Which means it will probably need some repair about 2.1 years from now.

I forgot what the other questions were...

Oh, the purpose of the extension caps... That gives you flexibility. I do sometimes wish my standard provari could be made a bit shorter.

The BIG question: What color/color LED are you getting?

Totally getting the blue/green hybrid with blue LED. I clicked on a Provape advertisement like my first day on ECF and my jaw dropped open when I saw the blue/green... then I looked at the price and got sad... now at this point its a screw it I'm gonna get what I want type situation :)

I'm actually starting to wonder if the nic high I've been dealing with this last week is making me make bad choices, at least as far as my bank account is concerned. I have been wired this last week. Happy, giddy almost. Full of energy and ready to take the bull by the horns. I'll also be cutting back on my nic levels as I go through my 18mg juices, several 12mg bottles on the way and I think my next order will be 6mg.

I chose the mini because it could take all 3 size batteries. I do find a significant difference between the 18350 and 18490, the two sizes I use the most. I have only used the 18650 when traveling, but am glad that I have that option. I really like the size at 18350 and most of the time I don't find it a problem to carry extra batteries with me in a plastic case, if I am going to be out most of the day.

I purchased the extra warranty with the first mini -- but did not purchase for my back-ups, after I saw the listing of their repair costs.

I agree with the others who suggested purchasing two of each size batteries.

Just a warning...

Once you have it in your hand, you're going to want a 2nd one... :D

SHHHHH!!!! Watch your mouth... err... fingers... errr...
I'm convinced that the Provari people are like babywearers. A wrap for each occasion, outfit, purpose... a provari for Monday a provari for this outfit, a provari for work a provari for home :) Our justification for being able to get two Provaris is that we will be happy with what we have... Now... on that note, I see us starting a collection of toppers :)

I use the Nautilus on the Provari and love it. I also have 2 carto glass tanks, which work very well. But I greatly prefer the vape on the Nautilus. I've tried both the 1.6 and 1.8 ohm heads. Both work great.

At some point, I'll get a 2nd -- and stop there

Because if it ever were to get lost, go head-to-head with a riding mower, etc.. I wouldn't know what to do!

Yeah, hear you on the toppers.. that's the next step of my journey

P.S. Wise choice on the blue LED! :thumb:
