Aha, that's exactly what I'm getting so I guess it really is just expectation.

Only picked up my first Reo a few weeks ago which is a VV which is running a suggested 2.0ohm coil and even that I have to squonk after maybe 4 strong hits so would make sense with a 1ohm coil it would need to be sooner. Sounds like I need to get my coil closer to the deck as well.

5 wraps of 28 ga on a 5/64 drill bite is around .6-.7 just make a smaller coil and add more wraps.

That's awesome, but you might want to update your profile with city and state to make helping you with such matters. Not trying to be a forum nazi but when asking locality questions it would help if you gave a locality. If you were local to me I would have told you to come pick some up for free. I have 26, 28, 30, 31, and 32 plus the free stuff that comes with cheap attys; 34 maybe.
