one other thing I might suggest is modification of the way you inhale .... here is what I mean ... when smoking analogs I would drag on the cig and be inhaling as I puffed ... with an e cig that does not work for me so I must draw the vapor into my mouth and store it there until I am done dragging and inhale it all at once ( kind of blocking my throat off until ready for that big vapor puff .... ) sorry if this makes little to no sense but it is the best description I can give in text ...

that makes a HUGE difference in how it feels when it hits the throat for me ...

best of luck

What you described is what I do and I still get the burn feeling when it goes down the throat. I just placed an order of 3 different flavors with 12mg of nicotine from EC Blends. I got a chocolate crunch flavor of 50PG/50VG, English Toffee-Reduced PG, Mango melon - 60PG/40VG, and mint selector with - 40PG/60VG. They are all 5ml bottles so they should be good enough for a few cartormizers that way I can see which one I like better.

well if those juice changes do not work for you then perhaps a 100% VG juice is where you may have to go ... if it is then to thick to work properly with your cartomizer you could cut it with a tiny bit of PGA ( pure grain alcohol ) found at the local Pa. state store .. ( a couple drops in 5ml should do the trick ) I noticed your also from Pa . what part of the state ?

I guess the first try I will do the English toffee which is reduced Pg, basically 100% VG and see how that feels. Maybe my throat is taking too long to adjust, but that is odd. I am in philadelphia, cigs here are nearly 7 bucks a pack so now that I have a good e-cig and about 9 pre-filled carts still available, that will hold me down until the blank cartomizers arrive with my juices.

Might try to hold the vapor in your mouth and rather than inhale exhale it out your nose slowly.. Start small, you'll end up with a head rush if you take too big of a hit or too many or your nose will tingle feel like burning. See if that can get you by while your throat gets time to feel better.

I have been trying that and I sometimes blow the vapor out right away because I think 18mg nic is too much. I puffed on the e cig this morning at 11am and right about now, 5pm here, I am getting a slight craving but I still have a weird headache feeling. Not really headache but your head just feels a little spaced. Good thing I lowered the nic content to 12mg in the juices.

The pg does make your throat dry by a lot. The nicotine also can have your throat feel scratchy or itchy if it is too strong. Wow 36mg that is a lot. I used to smoke Marlboro menthol for a while and I thought they were pretty strong. My nose was runny today too. I can't tell if it is from stopping smoking or the vg from the glycerin I added. My tonsils are in pain, kind of how you feel when you get sick but I know I am not sick. I hope that out of one of those mixes I ordered, that I find the right combination as I really enjoy vaping a lot more than I did smoking cigs.
