Well, I gave the excited girlie scream this afternoon because my PT (801) arrived. :) Problem is, I can't get it to work. :(

I've tried 3 different atomizers (all of which function just fine in my JantyStick, so I know the atomizers are good).

I tried gently pulling out on the pin of the atomizer in order to ensure good contact. That didn't work. (Atomizer is fine, though, as I tried it again with my JS to make sure I didn't pull wires loose or anything.)

I tried with my USB outlet on my computer, and nothing. I tried with my Kensington, and nothing. I even plugged it into the wall using a 5V rated USB adapter, and still nothing.

The adapter itself looks fine--no signs of a short.

I am now officially at a loss. Could I have simply gotten a dud? Say it isn't so! Any and all advice welcome . . . even the really stupid suggestions. :p

Hey JustJulie ... Bummer.

A Couple Quick Troubleshooting Tips:
1) Make sure the adapter is snugged up REAL well.
2) Fully depress the button, not simply halfway. Needs full press to engage.
3) Still not getting power .... Take the adapter off, and tap on the atomizer side of the adapter. To tap the threads down very very minimally incase just to make sure contact is met at the contact post.

And thats about it without a Mulitmeter :) So give those a shot and let me know!

Cash--Did the first two, and neither worked. Tried the third, but I'm not sure if I tapped hard enough . . . it seems very tight, and it doesn't appear to have moved at all. How aggressive should I get with that?

Curtis--I've been trying with two different brands--my Janty Kissbox atomizer and two generic DSE801 atomizers I picked up from Dietsmokes sometime back.

If this is a problem with the center condutors making contact, try the Staple mod from the modders section of ECF.

Very well Could be BFC ... although, not entirely sure. Its hard to say without a Multi .... Hmmm ... Try some more *home* troubleshooting this evening, worse case scenario .... Shoot it back to us in the morning and we'll get it taken care of ASAP! Sorry about that JustJulie!

Lord Almighty . . . just hearing "staple mod" makes me start sweating . . . maybe if I'm really brave and ambitious, I'll give it a try, but I gotta tell you that I am soooooooo not mechanically inclined, and I'm liable to blow something up.

I'm guessing I'll be sending this back to let Casey to worry about. That's why she gets paid the big bucks.

Just wanted to update this thread to give kudos to Casey and the PS crew.

No, there was nothing wrong with my PT . . . the atomizers I had on hand simply didn't work with it. Atomizers are fickle, finicky things. I guess I'm going to have to learn how to do the staple mod. :(

In any event, no one rolled their eyes at me or make me feel like an idiot. (I am perfectly capable of doing that all on my own, thank you very much.) Instead, I received an email letting me know that it had tested fine, and they were sending it back to me with the atomizer they used to test it with.

And they were right. Works like a champ.

In fact, I'm so happy with the PT that I've placed my order for a Prodigy. :)

Thanks for the excellent service.
