What the Kensington power pack is good for is to assist a low power source like your PC or the cigarette lighter adapter. I just connect the Kensington to the power source and connect the PT to the Kensington. Works well and helps the Kensington last a long time.

Kevin

That is a good idea, but I usually utilize my kensington when I choose to vape with the USBPass on the move(away from any power source). I was doing this heavily for sometime, and you're right, it doesn't seem like the Kensington is made for this high current/power usage.
Although it does work(and fairly well) my prediction is that continued use of this type is going to drastically cut short the Kensington's stated life span.

I posted this on another part of the forum but I think it should go here as well.

This may be of interest to vapers in the UK

I got my PS Manual USBPass about 2 days ago from Puresmoker's UK distributer e-cigs.co.uk and tried it on the my PC USB and it worked very well. I would say I got about double the vapor that I get from my old USB PassThrough Battery.

Today I received my Pluscom AC 7 port USB Hub from a seller on Ebay which has an output of 5v 3000ma, I would say the vapour output has doubled again.

Here is the Ebay link if anyone is interested, I am in the UK so this is a UK seller. It cost £7.89 with free postage

Sorry cannot post link yet replace the h**p with http

I have been using my PS USBpass for a day or so now with my 5v 3000ma USB hub I cant imagine anything better than this but I dont have anything to compare it with.

Is the top device at the moment the Prodigy, can anyone do a review comparing the Prodigy with the PS USBpass running off a high amp USB hub.

How does it compare other than it is portable.

In my opinion, and this is just my opinion, the USBPass IS THE BEST 5V device(vs. the prodigy at 5V). I'm sure it has something to do with the consistent delivery of a constant voltage and adequate current(over traditional fluctuating Voltage/current of the battery in the Prodigy). I run my USBPass off a 5V 2Amp AC/USB adapter(which provides more then enough amperage). The Prodigy is still good, but the USBPass is just better(i.e more consistent) and with a portable power adapter like the Kensington or the APC mobile Power pack, the USBPass can be portable as well(just a bit more tedious to carry around). I've been using my USBPass in this fashion for over 3 months now.

I can't wait to get mine. I'm tired of using the converted nicostick PT.

or....if you need more than one USB port in the Car and only have 1 power port....I found this for $18.99, also 2000 mAh.

neat model, good if you still need the lighter and have only 1 cig port. I found a similar thing on ebay with 4 ports and a FM transmitter for plugging into an ipod or similar to play it over your car stereo. They are on ebay for 1 penny (or buy it now for $1) plus $2.49 shipping. As long as it works, seems better than $18.99 unless you just have to have the cig lighter

(search ebay for "4 Port USB Car Charger + FM Transmitter" and sort by lowest price)

oh btw I'm just hoping to use this $2.50 device to charge my ecig batts in the car, it might be too cheap to handle a puresmoker usbpass I guess I'll find out someday

Hey mark, are you still using this? Is your opinion the same? I was thinking about getting one. So far the only thing I have found was the Kensington. I am going thru too many batteries to keep using my Prodigy at home, so I am going to try using the passthru at home, and keeping Prodigy for on-the-road. Please let me know. I'll take advise from anyone who's purchased one........thx

I might have found the winner here. And I guarantee you, you will not find a cheaper one on the market. Its a small AC to USB 2amp max port. Here's the link:

USB Dual Power Adapter

$1.95 for the unit and $1.95 for the shipping(order as many as you'd like)

I just got it yesterday and it works great(better then my Kensington). The only problem I can see is the shipping took a little longer then I like(about 8 days), but the guy is super easy to get ahold of(his name is Steve) and he says he will make sure the shipping improves. Mention your buying this from the e-cig forum and he'll make sure you get it quickly. He also states he has alot left in stock. They are not made cheaply either. You'll be suprised at the packaging when you receive it.

Hi Jennifer;
Yup I'm still using it and it's still going strong like the day I got it. Definitely THE best $3.90 I ever spent. I actually bought several and they all work fantastically still to this day.

Hi Jennifer

So you have a Prodigy and a PS USBpass and your looking for a decent AC mains USB adaptor to power your PS USBpass.

I'm in the UK and I bought 5v 3amp mains powered USB hub from an Ebay Uk seller which is great, I get double the vapor that I got from my USB on my PC.

I just had a look on Ebay to try and find the same one on Ebay from a US seller and I found this one.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/USB-7-Port-HUB-Powered-High-Speed-Free-AC-Adapter-Cable_W0QQitemZ300361833880QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45eef5dd98

It looks identicle to the one I bought but it has a different name on the side. The desciption does not give the power output so you would need to check with the seller that it is 5v 3amp

I'm interested in getting a prodigy, when you get your mains power for your PS USBpass can you do a write up here to let me know how they compare.

I want to know how a Prodigy compares with a PS USBpass running from a high amp USB mains adaptor.

I just ordered the $1.95 deal today, ordered 5 (some for family members). Once I get them, I will do a comparison for you.

Thanks Jennifer

I look forward to reading the comparison, if they are about the same I think I will stick with my PS USBpass, if the prodigy is better I will get one when they become availble again

Timbrin:

I think they both have their good qualities. If you have new freshly charged batteries, bottomline, "you can't beat the Prodigy". However, that can be costly in the loooooong run. It is also more convenient to vape with the Prodigy verses the passthru. I am constanty moving about, and dealing with the cord on passthru is 'IN'-convenient for me.

They are both AWESOME nicotine delivery devices.

Having said that, I am still going to be using the pass-thru more often around the house, because of long-term battery requirements. I want to make this 'vice' as least costly as possible. I want to enjoy the nicotine, and also see vast improvements on where I'm saving money.
