The Voopoo PNP tank with the VM5 coils(0.2 ohms) at 30w, closed the airflow to just under half way, there are some you can do that with as the recommended wattage is if you have your airflow open full but since the airflow is closed down to make it a restricted airflow for yourself you can lower your wattage
That is my daily setup.

I'm using an Innokin Kroma R mod. I consider low wattage between 20-50 watts not an MTL tank but an MTL and RDL tank or a RDL tank would be what I'm looking for.
I feel like you're very specifically describing the Zenith II, lol.

I've read very good things about the Fireluke 22 and have had them sitting in my cart before. Freemax is extremely reliable in their coil's performance and longevity. I just got the VECO Plus tank not two days ago, lol. This is also a very good tank, but I've read that the EUC coils can be hit or miss. Lots of dud packages in circulation from what I've gathered. Fortunately, they're often extremely cheap costing nearly a dollar or less per coil which is unheard of. The flavor and performance of the tank itself is extremely smooth and flavorful however. I just tightened the airflow to about a 1/4 and it performs about what the Zenith II does fully open - a good RDL. Closing it all the way, and you're definitely looking at an MTL. I wouldn't consider it RMTL by most standards, but it's definitely very tight. Hardly getting any vape at all.

Up in the 45-50 watt range, you'd likely do fine with any reliable tank that uses a single coil mesh. For this, I'd recommend the Freemax Fireluke 3 with the X1 coil heads or GeekVape Z 2021 @ 0.2 ohms or higher which can also be dialed down to an RDL. The coil heads that use 2-4 (or sometimes up to 8 for whatever reason) mesh rings aren't recommended however, since they're going to require more power. Often noted by "dual", "triple", "quad", "hex", "oct". They're also usually more expensive for that reason.

The problem with getting the Zenith II is that my Kroma R came with the AJAX tank and it has hardly any flavor that I'm turned off of Innokin tanks. Is the Zenith II with the Z coils better than the Ajax with the Ajax coils?

I've looked at the Ajax tanks but never bought one so I cannot tell you how it compares to what I have in my arsenal.

I can't imagine you not being able to get flavor from the Zenith II. In terms of full flavor, it sits just below the Fireluke 3 and Z 2021 in my opinion. I do believe some of it has to do with the CoolFire Z80 it's sitting on, but when I toss it onto other mods, it's still putting out great flavor, I just pick up some undertones more on the CF Z80. The Zenith II does have its perks that make it equal to or better than those 2 other tanks I mentioned though:
    -Similar coil life, but cheaper
-Probably 1/4 to 1/3 the juice usage
-Ohm options go from 0.3 (I believe) to 1.6
    -You'll never have leaking
-Can replace the coil with damn near a full tank of juice

    Downside:
-Only goes from MTL to RDL (which doesn't seem to be a bother to you)

Once again, the VECO Plus is also a solid choice with really cheap coils and the Fireluke 22 which I can't imagine to disappoint.

    **Something else to Note**
The Zenith II has 4 symmetrical points that jut out slightly on the airflow control. I just looked up the Kroma-R and it states that the 510 plate measures at 26mm. The Zenith II at it slimmest part of the airflow control sits at 26mm. The fattest is like 27ish mm, so you're going to have a veeeery slight overhang on those corners, if this is something you think would bother you. I think the design of the tank would go very well aesthetically with the Kroma-R though. The VECO Plus sits at a flush 24mm.

How is the Geekvape Zeus sub ohm tank? I see that they have 0.25 coils rated between 47-57 watts! That is definitely a great low/mod range for me. Is this tank really flavorful?

Short answer is, yes. The Zeus, now "Z" series has done quite well. Even though they are all built roughly the same with top to bottom airflow, the Z 2021 is definitely the best in the Z series. If I had to rate the 2021 an 8 in terms of flavor, the slightly older Z tank would be a 7.5. And that slightly lower score would be from a tad bit more of a throat hit. Of the Zenith II, Fireluke 3, and Z/Z 2021, I would say their coil is definitely the shakiest. Most have reported similar longevity in coils (Freemax's 904L X-series and Innokin's Z-coils), but some have also reported full 5 packs of Z-series coils (not to be confused with Innokin's Z-coils) being duds. I've only seen a few reviews like this though, and you can never tell when user error is involved. Also of the 3, this tank is also most likely to be prone to leaking or having seepage in the chimney when refilling juice - even with the airflow control completely closed. It isn't all the time, but it does happen from time to time. It's just something I've learned to live with, I still think it's a great performing tank.

Overall, I think it's a solid choice. The GeekVape Z-series coils also have a 0.4 ohm option as well if you wanna taper that wattage range down even a bit more.

Lot's of good advice so far... I agree with all of the recommendations. One tank I'd like to add is the Vaporesso NRG. I use one with GT core coils (the ones I like are dual mesh) Even though those coils rated much higher, I use them at 45 watts and they work great. It's a DL tank but I close the airflow just over half way and it does a great restricted DL. I also have a Innokin Kroma Z (it's a "pod mod") and it's great with the 0.3 ohm coils at 30 watts.

Yeah, I honestly think the low side of the wattage range with mesh coils are quite a bit over the top. It doesn't take much to light them up.

I think the NRG tank has a bit of a throat hit in comparison to some of my other tanks. Do you get this as well? I realize some people like that and I'm sure it varies with the coils. I just checked the NRG coil I'm using and it's the 0.18. The flavor is still good, but there's a noticeable amount of throat hit for me.

I still think his best choice would be the Zenith II with all things considered. The juice consumption alone doesn't compare.
