Oooookay vape fans, I am troubled. I have been vaping for, eh, 3 years now on and off. I have done the pens, RDA, Tanks, the kayfuns, thick juices, kicks, high pg experimenting, DIY liquid, etc. basically I have tried everything once and I've been doing it for a while. I have recently found myself getting really [edited] tired of building coils and dripping on the go. For me, its not practical, its messy, its a hassle. However, people that run nothing but RDA's are totally cool with me. On the flip side to that, people that use strictly pens and iClear 30's are cool too; IMO, its all about giving up smoking, right? WRONG. One of my friends has recently taken up the hobby (3 or 4 months back) and coil builds for sub ohm, blows clouds for tricks, you know the type. Now he thinks he is better then me and everybody else and his small group of other vapers looks down on everybody else for not doing what they do, including me with my new Aspire Atlantis (which im digging btw). What the heck! I get that I never really was "part of the scene", but what has happened to the vaping community nowadays?! I see this trend increasing more and more in the culture and its really pissing me off! Is this vaping hipster elitist cr@p common now? Or am I just experiencing a social lemon? Help me out here guys and gals, restore some faith. Peace and love from Chicago.

your friend needs to mature alot more to understand you.... you are at peace with vaping in your own style... your friend is lost and searching, give your friend time to discover what there is to find. Give your friend some space and just maybe your friend will come back to you... as your friend.

let them be. once one of their subohm pipe bomb blows up, they will all come back to vaping disposables. i like all sort of vaping. but when i go to B&M where cloud chasers are, i usually bring my cloud machine to fit in. i like large cloud. but when i'm enjoying after dinner vape or early morning vape.. like at 3am, i prefer my taifun gt II for quiet vape that wakes up my taste buds. then there are things in between to change the past of the day like magama or origen.. or marquis.. let them have their fun and find your own

Theres always going to be jerks like that that exist in any hobby/culture...you just have to get over it and realize theyre part of a minority and that theyre still immature to segregate themselves into high school like cliques, its pointless. I myself dont use tanks at all anymore and definitely enjoy coil building as a hobby, but that doesnt mean Ill be stupid enough to be exclusionary towards any vaper who does it different...Your buddy has serious growing up to do is all

This is exactly it. These are the same kinds of folks that are doin really stupid junk and posting it on YT. We've all seen the totally idiotic stuff people do. Unfortunately it's a growing trend in everything. Ron White said it, ya can't fix stupid!

Its part of every hobby/subculture though.

If you show horses, you will have people who say they have a better horse/saddle/trailer, etc. Dog people can even be snobbier

If you ride a motorcycle, there are all kinds of subgroups and putting down of others. Luckily, in my area, not as much, but in many places Harley riders will only wave to other Harley riders, sport bike riders to other sport bike riders, etc. And, geez, you ought to hear sport bike riders bragging and putting down fellow riders over their bikes, helmets, whatever.

I just do my own thing and don't worry about it . Be glad you're secure with yourself and not someone who tries to feel self worth by putting down others.

Yep its a growing group within vaping and your best to just distance yourself and let them get on with it unless your prepared to change to suit them which isn't an option for me and doubt for you either you enjoy yours and let them get on with it not much help but bottom line.

Well you guys have definitely dissipated a lot of my worries. At the bottom line, I was more or less asking if the minority has become the majority, and from what I'm seeing, that answer is "no way, jose". Cool beans :3 and the vape of the day is Cactus Juice by G2 Vapor!

Let me guess, he wears a snapback cap with the sticker still on the bill (and if so, most likely has a tattoo or two showing he is a modern day video game warrior with ancient suburban roots in the Poser tribe)? If so, you can't help him and have to cut him loose. The best you can do is say goodbye and hope to see him in 5 to 10 years when you pull through the drive through and he hands you your meal.

The cloud chasers have made a big impact on the market since they use far more juice which is less expense to produce. Have you noticed so many new juice companies offer only low nic and high pg? Keep in mind there are about 2 million vapers at present and 40 million smokers. They future market and possibly survival lies in converting the smokers not in hobbyists.

Vaping is a sport nowadays. He's part of the cloud chasing fad. Next thing he'll be doing is entering the cloud competitions. Huge clouds are attractive to the newbies. People see that they can carry around a " cool " looking box mod and blow huge amounts of vapor and try to justify it by saying " it's healthier than smoking ".

I think you nailed it . IMO, that minority would very likely do the same thing no matter what new thing they got into.
