So our, not to be trusted government, Called a surprise Law Amendment committee meeting to hear presenters on the Anti e-cig law for Monday, it just passed 2nd reading this past Tuesday. So that gives us basically 3 days to get ready, have to bring 15 copies of evidence and of your speech. Setting as many traps and hurdles as they can.
You can help by sharing the petition on social media.

and if you have twitter by sending tweets to #nspoli #NotToBill60 #Bill60 and by retweeting tweets you find in those tags. as well as tweets by @billhillier @JayTheVapingGuy

Good news :toast:, so far. Today the Government backed down on flavours ban, even flavoured tobacco. Will now have proper consultation that includes the public.
Ban on vaping in public spaces will still apply. New legislation has not been released yet so not sure how exactly e-cigs and tobacco are tied together in the law.
e-cig only stores can display product while stores selling e-cigs along with other items must keep products hidden.

I made these to show how shabbily the e-cig is defined in the law. I tweeted and posted them all over the place.

Those are very good. If it would be OK with you, is there any way you could post slightly bigger copies? I would love to use them when appropriate, but they are just a bit on the small and hard to read side. I use a free image site called TinyPic. I upload pics there and they give me a link that I post on forums. It allows me to do this with a Jpeg of Johnathan:

I call this a victory. Not displaying in stores where kids are allowed makes sense and no vaping in public places also makes sense in 2 ways: people who do not smoke do not really see a difference and I wouldn't want to be eating a steak next to a guy vaping peanut butter menthol.

Yep, I agree with public spaces ban too but forcing vapers to gather with the smokers is counterproductive, like sending a recovering alcoholic to the liquor store. Linking to tobacco is not good either but it's better than what it was going to be. Should have been dealt with in seperate legislation. Anyone battling this sort of thing needs to have people on twitter, facebook and commenting on news stories. On twitter in the political hashtags mainly used in your area. We took over the #nspoli tag for 2 weeks. Social media is a most powerful tool. It would be easier to address e-cig regulation as soon as the government talk about it begins rather than after the legislation is introduced.
