I looked at those carto's. They aren't LR, they are just straight up 510 mega. It seems like someone else had an issue of some sort with Bauway ones... but forget ... "
Doc, I didn't realize there were so many different makers of 510 products. I assumed most 510 parts would work on joye 510 without issues. I kinda understood you might not want something that takes more power on a simple joye 510 but thought all would be ok on the Riva ego batteries as they came with joye 510 atomizers.
Thanks!

Yeah, definitely not LR. Its just that I've heard LRs can ruin a battery pretty quick. Especially seems true of Riva batts.
Buzz, It seems one of the atomizers that came with the Riva set was a LR but I don't remember for sure.
Thanks!

Did you charge all three with the same charger using the USB port on your computer? Smell the end, does it smell burnt?
Irefine, yes the joye 510 battery smelled extremely hot. After recharging it, it would not shut itself off. I charged it on the 510 usb charger. I actually thought about throwing it in some water but knew it would burn itself out soon enough on it's own.
Thanks!
Twist
After 4 boxes of there 2.5 ohms I stopped using Bauway cartos. Some worked well but their quality is atrocious from my experience. Several of them were totally DOA and others were so poor they weren't worth using
Twist, I wish they had been dead instead of being the possible damage to my batteries. The problem is I ordered a 10 pk and am scared to try any more of them. The rest may be fine but how will I know without the possibility of further damage.
Thanks!

I lost several batts to a bad charger and/or wall plug. Totally heart broken and near panic mode as two were fairly new. Never took the time/risk to determine which was at fault. Tossed 'em both to avoid future disaster. No problems since. Love how fast our vendors can get product delivered to us!
Tx, I may never know exactly what happened to the batteries. The strange thing is, these mega 510 cartomizers were the fastest shipment I have ever recieved. FATE!
I was waiting on freedomsmokes to get some 510 carts in as that was where I was going to order from. I will have to wait till the next payday before I can order more batteries so I am stuck using the spare set I had on hand of some kind of 510 set from branddiablo. I am very thankful I have that set to fall back on though.
My Riva set was just over a month old. Ugh...
Thanks!

I lost 3 batteries in one day too....mine came from grabbing a charger that had the right thread connection thinking that it would charge just as well as the other one....not so much. It killed all three batteries. Just like that. Is it possible this might be the case? My husband said he'd heard about some cartos having a "short" issue and that they were damaging batteries, but he can't remember what brand they were. I'm sorry I can't help more. I hope you can get your new batteries soon and get back to solid vaping
Rhapsodies Fire, I used the proper chargers for all of the batteries. I remember reading somewhere that the joye 510 was not strong enough to charge the Riva's so I have been very careful about using the right chargers. Just didn't matter. What I still don't get is that the Riva's will light up on the switch but indicate they have not charged. Very strange as when I put them on their charger it indicated they are charged. I did leave them on the charger the proper amount of time anyway and they still flash and do not function at all.
Thanks!
MistressNomad
I'm sorry. Sounds like the carto. Throw it out.
I'm also curious if you were using the same charger for both. I've seen bad results from someone using a 510 charger to charge an eGo - it isn't built to supply that big of a charge, so it can wreck the charger or the battery. Make sure you're using the right charger.
MistressNomad, as you can see from the post above, I am truly very particular about using the proper chargers. All the more reason to suspect the carto...
Thanks!

If you have a short on the cartomizer that will kill the battery unfortunately That can happen if the insulator between the centre connector and the body of the carto is damaged (allowing the two parts to touch) or possibly from debris.
A bit after the event I know, but if you have an atomizer or carto that unexpectedly drains or kills a battery stop using it immediately.
I've seen some people screw atty's on to a battery really tightly, this can create a short. Never over tighten.
Papa Lazarou, you bet I will if it ever happens again! Had I known this could happen I might have known better than to try that cart on 3 batteries! I really don't tend to overtighten the carts or atomizers, I think anyway...
Thanks!

the same thing has happened to me. within 3 days my 2 new egos stopped working. sent 1 battery back to supplier (he thought it was defective when I explained how hot it was getting when trying to charge it) as soon as I sent that 1 back the other one died. my joye ego kept going off by itself without anyone pressing the button. I am getting frustrated. already spent $82 and they only lasted 2 days. I am waiting on the new battery and see what happens
taz666, Oh how I feel your pain! I hope when you get your new battery you find it working well. One thing I have learned, have several cheap backups, or not so cheap depending on your income I guess. I take this vaping thing seriously and would rather be spending extra on some flavors of nic juice instead of replacing my units this quickly. I so wanted this to cost less than smoking but when things work out this way, I have to wonder. Even so, healthwise, well there is no comparison...
Thanks!
I do so appreciate the the thoughts and ideas expressed and it makes it some better to see others have been through this process and didn't throw in the towel --so to speak.
Thank you all!
I still don't know what to do with the rest of the cartomizers--ordered a 10 pk and worked with 2 so I don't know which one did the questionable damage--gripped with fear that if I use them they will destroy what batteries I have left. I just wanted to not have to be refilling something all the time. How do I know in the future what to trust.
Again, Thank you all!
