Eratikmind,

Please give me your experience on the top two setups that are "quality regulated device and cartotanks". I'd like to limit to top two, as there are just too many devices to weed through. I don't want a PhD in this stuff, but would like to know what separates the junk from quality. Price doesn't seem to separate the two, and is an unreliable way of determining quality. Thanks.

Personally, I have 2 ProVari Minis and a Vapor Shark rDNA for my regulated vaping.

Why did I choose these two? They each have an excellent basis of design and quality of build execution, in my opinion. They are both made here in America. As such, repairs, if required, are easily performed.

With regard to atomizers, I use SM KayFun Lites and GG Ithakas with these regulated devices.

A simple cartotank system, consisting of Ikenvape cartomizers and IBTanked tanks is an excellent choice for the said, as well.

A protank is a fancier clearomizer. It is far from being equal to a top quality cartomizer housed inside a tank.

Like many noobs, I get lost in lingo. What distinguishes a clearomizer from a cartomizer? I will pay for quality and reliability. Quality and reliability is what I yearn for.

Will the IBTanks work on top of an X6 VV battery?

This is an example of a carto tank set-up on a ProVari Mini.

Also the frustration u are having seems to be common side effect right around the 1 month mark. I think it's a withdrawal symptom of all the chemicals in cigs. Keep your chin up and press on and hang out here. You will find this group of folks to be the best support structure u could wish for.

OK, after re-reading the proper terminology , I must admit that baditude's post is excellent for clearing things up a bit.

So, my next question is: Why does one choose a cartotank over a clearotank? I understand they have minor mechanical differences, but both feed the liquid in a larger tank ultimately to a coil.

Are cartotanks more reliable? Less flooding? Better flavor?

Cartotanks well are unreliable. At least that's my personal review of them. Example, I own the AMP tank, which is a pricey tank. The cartos in them are pricey. When it worked, hmm its so tasty. But it dries out, leaks, vacuum delivery never works correctly and so on. Cartos last a while but it's pricey upfront cost. But you can have a Protank 2 that is half as tasty, but works everytime. Ok well almost everytime and doesn't leak. Convenience.

Amp Tank is the one on the Evic.

I get better flavor out of a cartotank. It is also pretty maintenance free if the carto is primed properly in the beginning. After that, you just have to refill the tank every so often. I can get anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks out of a carto depending on the liquid I'm using. You can flood a carto as well, but I rarely have that problem. It is fixable if that happens.

Do you have it punched or is a bottom filler? Maybe it's me, I've had the worst luck with Cartos and Kayfuns.

It's a pre-punched 2 hole Smok single coil. I'm using it with an IBTanked tank and they are know for being great quality. I've never had a leak. They also include spare o-rings just in case you do get a bad one. I really can't recommend them enough to anyone interested in cartotanks.

Edit: I will add that I use 50/50 liquid and that has some bearing of course on how well it wicks.YMMV.

Hi! Aspire Nautilus Mini is the best "clearomizer" on the market right now. I've had it for over a month, dropped it several times in between, and it hasnt leaked on me once. The flavor it produces is amazing. Read any review on the aspire nautilus mini and you will want one. They're incredible. No mess, no fuss, just perfect. I'll also recommend a simple Vision Spinner 1300 mAh or Smoktek Twist for your battery, if you don't want to get into variable wattage mods (though i recommend it :)) Good luck! Happy Vaping!

I read a lot of great stuff about teh Nautilus Mini. However, I've read a number of users reporting flooding issues on them too. I don't know what to think.

Well, I'm an idiot. I just figured out why the clone Protank 3 I just got is flooding constantly. The silicone ring / washer on the top is missing from the coil. Man, I wish'd I woulda looked up some pics of the coil earlier. Although I think the coils I;ve got aren't authentic Kangers ....they still need that silicone piece up top.
