Anybody Having Issues with the 510 Atomizers?

it is not my aim to derail the thread, and again not to criticize SurfMonkey (who seems to have a compulsion to speak about this subject every time it comes up), but when i see generalizations without actual evidence, it needs perspective and balance. atomizers are atomizers, and they always are a roll of the dice whether they are vapor monsters or little wisp puffers.

Saying you don't intend to insult... and then typing out an insult doesn't absolve you.

I brought it up this time because it's relevant and it's a topic I know something about. There are many other topics that I discuss frequently here as well.

As I've said to you before, I think it's important for customers to know what they're getting. When people refer to these as "new" or "improved" atomizers they're spreading the incorrect idea that these are an evolution of Joye's hardware. They're not. They're made by a third party. If pointing that out gives you a bad impression of me, that's your trip, friend.

I've been meaning to post a question about PS's current 510 atty supply. I take it Steve is not selling these knockoff's. Correct?

I ask because I'd like to order 25 or so but damn it, I hate the knockoffs & refuse to buy them because they do nothing but leak when in a normal 510 battery & laying on its side.

the 3rd party ones are sold only at a few suppliers. puresmoker isnt one of them, you are getting genuine joye merch. next time i order attys, i will get them here. bulk pricing wins every time!

I must be weird - I've spent the past few days talking about them to everyone, and I don't have my own yet! (Its at my door today, I'm sure of that ). All I did was try a friend's (he ordered after seeing an ad somewhere, otherwise clueless), and knew it was the right solution for me.

Like I mentioned though, mine should be sitting at my door (that or at the local post office, I've got confirmation on that), so I'll let you know how mine is as well.

Anyhow, when using the 510 adapter, the atomizer isn't working. I've tried all that I have and it's a no go. They are fine when I put them back on the 510 battery.

Same thing here. At first I tried two old ones that work fine on 510 batteries and nicosticks and neither worked. I tried a barely used one that had stopped working well on 510 batteries and nicosticks and it worked on the Prodigy. I then tried three new unused attys on the Prodigy and two of them worked and one did not (all worked on 510 batts). I suspect the ones that did not work would work with the staple mod or by pushing the atty connector post on the prodigy up a hair but no worries since I do have some that work without the mod.

yup, for me, the attys that dont work....backups for the wife. she doesnt want a prodigy.

Although I've been perfectly happy with my 901 and 801 adapters and attys (primarily the BE112) I finally decided to see what all the fuss is over the 510's. I ordered a 510 adapter and am assuming (and hoping) that there are no problems with the 510 attys that Puresmoker sells. I've read that lots of people are having problems with various 510 attys bought from other places... so I'm hoping that by buying them from Steve that I won't encounter any issues. Especially considering that without ever trying them, I bought 15 of 'em.

I guess I am lucky - I have over 20 attys purchased from 3 or 4 places - now I can not tell you if they are joyes or knock offs - but I have never had one that is bad - I check them all the next day after the Vodka bath both with the multimeter and on my Prodigy - most I have had back to the normal 510 days - guess I am lucky - liking the titanium on the Prodigy - just also got some stainless that work just like all the others...

Funny story - It is actually the girls leg wearing my shorts - I received the Super-T yesterday and got called out of town so she took a picture since I couldnt be there to see it... I wanted to see the size compared to the Prodigy and the regular 510... so anyway kinda my leg... lol
