I was stoked to return home from work and find my Twist kit. batteries are charges and I partially filled the Excalibur tank, hit the button and nothing. It finally started to vape, but tasted terribly burnt. Voltage was down pretty low.

I filled a 510 carto, getting nothing. I'm assuming that I'm doing something wrong because I have tried both batteries. I did the 5 click off and on, getting the led when I hit the button. I think I'm overlooking something very simple and gonna feel like a bonehead. Please help so I can try out my first upgrade. Thanks

Look at the end of the battery that you thread the carto into... is it wet?
You charged them or they came charged?
Partly filled tank, was the element fully wet before you tried to use it? A dry element will always burn and taste awful. They have to be primed before use (get the filler or wick wet all the way through).

I hope this helped a little.

Thanks for the replies. This was my first time using anything other than a mini. I thought that I had saturated the wick, but maybe I hadn't. I just got one of the batteries going and this is what I've been waiting for. These Excaliburs are rated at 2.4-2.8 ohms, and I'm getting some awesome vapor at 4.2 V.
Is there more to priming?
As for the 510 Carto, I don't know what is going on. I put in about 20 drops - I noticed that this juice was taking a long time to get down into the filler. Maybe this filler is tighter than the V2 cartos I was using? Or maybe I got a dud. I figured the regular 510's would be my standby in case I couldn't figure out these Excaliburs. I still don't know what these are - Vapor's Choice just called them smoke tanks. I also have a CE2 to try, but forgot to get a syringe.

Just checked the other battery and it's working great. This is pretty rad. As others have said, I wish I had skipped the mini and gone straight to something like this.

So I got nothing again. The ExC was hitting really well, now I'm not getting anything. I put more juice in (almost full) and tipped it a few times to get the juice towards the top. I have no idea what the problem is.

The 501 is an xxl, so I put a lot more juice in, but still getting nothing. The batteries obviously work fine, I'm just doing something wrong.

if your getting nothing from the carto then you need to pull the post. at the bottom of the carto there is a little post with a hole in it. this part makes contact with the battery. get a paperclip or something thin enough and ever so gentley pull that post out a tad. you dont need to pull it out that much. and try filling the carto until it drips out the bottom. give it a blow, add somemore and your good to go.

good luck

There are video's on youtube that show how to fill a carto. The "condom" method works great as it saturates the filler from the bottom up. Those carto's need to be really wet, but not enough to overflow into the center tube.

Take the longer "condom" that was on one end of the carto, fill it about halfway full of juice. Then slowly push the carto threaded end down into the juice until it shows at the top. If it needs more do it again with a little less until you have a nice saturated carto.

Better yet...get some Vivi Nova 2.5s, fill 'em up and vape yer face off!

Learned some lessons today, wanted to throw my battery at the wall after dumping 2 mls of juice in my lap, but it's coming around. Still don't know what was wrong with the carto tank, but I want to figure it out because it was doing an amazing job ... until it wasn't. Got a 501 filled, but it's not the same.

Didn't quite understand the "pulling the post" suggestion, but filled a new one using condom method. I was familiar with that method and it seems like the only way to go when trying to fill these big cartos.

I am gonna do some more experimenting with the tank. Any ideas as to why it would stop working? Is it possible to lose it's prime? What are the steps to take when dong an initial prime, other than making sure the wick is saturated? I saw in a video about the Vivi Nova that you should let it sit for an hour?

Thanks again.

All cartos and clearos have a post at the end that connects to the battery...sometimes it doesn't make proper contact with the battery so it must be GENTLY pulled out a 1/32". When connecting anything only tighten finger tight. Although in the vid below he's pulling the post on an 808 it almost the same for a 510.

Thanks.
One more question and I'll leave everyone alone:

I put the other Excalibur tank on and it seems to be amazing. Again, today is my first day of using anything other than a mini so I have no comparison. I have only seen these on the site where I purchased my kit and have found no reviews regarding lifespan, etc. Are all of these different attys, cartos, and tanks just models made by the company whose site I am visiting. I really like the way this thing works and was thinking about ordering some replacement heads, but can't find any info about the quality. I think I want to stick with this carto tank system, so I might look into Vivi Nova as well.
