Been vaping for 4 months now. Smoked PAD for 40 years, quit smoking 1st day I started vaping. I started at 18mg quickly went to 12 now at 6 during the day and 0 at night. Love the taste and chain vape when in the car on break and in the evenings after I get home from work. This site has helped me so much in my journey. I wasn't having health problems from smoking but my husband was a 2 plus PAD smoker. Coughed constantly and sick a lot. I talked him into vaping. He still smokes and vapes, but doesn’t smoke around me now . We do lots of missions work and church activities. Didn't think smoking was a very good witness so I was pretty much a closet smoker. I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to PG because I've had a UTI infection for a month now and from reading on this forum that could be bad for your bladder. I don't want to stop vaping just need to know how I can get my favorite juice in more VG ratio than PG. I just found out I'm vaping 70PG/30VG. To be honest I was very healthy before I quit smoking but since I quit have missed more work than when I smoked. Just feel real tired all the time and metabolism seems to have dropped so much. Then this UTI thing keeps going and going......really hoping the more VG will help. My favorite juices are apple pie and strawberry shortcake, If anyone could suggest where I can get this in at least close to 100% VG it would be very helpful. :):):)

What kind of atomizer are you using because when you go to High VG some tanks systems will not like it so much. 100% VG is best in drip type atomizers. I looked at the places i know that sell that and they did not have apple or strawberry flavors. Vanilla custard they do. Also when you find one it will likely be a bit more expensive as most flavorings are pg based. That is why i went into DIY. LOL Here is one that has 100% vg juice that i use. There is one more but it's more expensive. ECBlend E-Liquid All Natural and Organic

Metabolic changes are common in those who quit smoking and can take some time to adjust and level out. If it continues for an extended period of time I would suggest having a blood test done for thyroid hormone production.

The body goes through some significant changes from quitting smoking, call it withdrawal if you will. The physical system is used to the countless chemicals involved in smoking and are bound to cause some issues when cessation occurs. For some, no issues arise and others may experience many. The immune system varies in every individual and you may have a weak system at this time which can lead one to place cause in order to justify the illness.

I doubt the UTI is attributed to liquid ratio/type but one way to rule it out is too not vape for a few days or weeks if need be then see how things play out. Your immune system is fighting the UTI and may be impaired by vaping but doubtful the cause....remember your system is now metabolizing a new chemical ie; PG/VG and may see it as an enemy further weakening the ability to fight the UTI.

If you need to rule out liquid just get any 100% VG, try it see how it goes but remember as time goes by the UTI should get better on its own giving a false cure from using a certain ratio or type.

Are you drinking enough water? Vaping can cause dehydration so you need to drink more than the average person to stay hydrated. This could be the cause of a UTI.

I can't recommend a juice company for you as I'm in the UK, but there are a few VG-only brands out there and I'm sure you will be able to find something to suit your needs.

I use a Kanger Evod with a itaste MVP.battery I hope that will work with higher VG...I drink a lot of water, can't get a appointment with doctor until 8-4. I did take a sample to the doctor and was told I had a UTI and was given Cipro for a week. Infection came back after a day off the antibiotic. Had a bad reaction to some estrogen cream years ago and found out it had high PG so that's why I'm assuming it's the PG. When I 1st started vaping my mouth got real sore and that eventually went away so I'm hoping the same will happen with the other end. LOL.....thanks to everyone that responded.

I just ordered from Killer E-Juice and received the package today. So far, i'm happy with what i got. I ordered with a special note for "Max VG". I'm assuming the flavoring is PG based, as it is not 100% VG, but is a VG base. I don't know to what ratio you would have a sensitivity to PG, but they do have a strawberry flavor. Thought it was worth mentioning. Hope you feel better!!!

Cipro is a very strong antibiotic, I think it can can kill a dead person:lol: Joking aside, if the infection returned post Cipro, you have a very nasty infection going on, I am sure the doctor will resume medication for it, may be another antibiotic however, it all depends.

Drinking water is even better for you at this juncture with UTI, the pain in urination that may occur is not pleasant I am sure. Consider cranberry juice as well for the UTI, it is not a myth, it actually helps many patients. Even if it does not help, you are at the very least cleansing the UI and covering the need for liquids by vaping in one "shot".

Darn it....now I have to go wee:facepalm:

Thank you everyone for responding. This was my very 1st post after lurking for 4 months. Just looking helped me so much in this journey. I am so happy to be "free" even if it hurts to wee...I can't see not vaping, don't want to go back so I'll just take my good old OTC Cystex which helps a lot until I go back to Dr. I called my local B&M shop and they are going to try to get me some higher VG to try. Will my set up work okay with higher VG? Also can anyone tell me how to like a post?

If you go the juice route, be sure to drink real cranberry juice (which is very tart) and not cranberry juice cocktail, as the sugar in it won't be helpful at all. Cranberry capsules help, also.

I had this problem several years ago when doctor put me on estrogen. Ended up at a urologist which said it’s more like Cystitis and not to drink anything acidy, not even cranberry juice. I use to get them in the summer when the tomatoes started coming in because of the acid in tomatoes but haven't had any problems for 15 years until now. Not doing any acid foods or drinks that why I was concerned it was the PG.

Welcome!

I've used as much as 40PG/60VG with my EVOD/MVP combo. Not sure about higher VG will behave. You may have to dry-burn your coils more often. Don't have a link handy, but google it - I've done that, especially with darker/sweeter juices because they tend to gunk up the coils a little more. Before I started rebuilding my coils, I would at least drop them into a small ramekin of vodka to let them soak overnight. This was even before I felt comfortable enough dry-burning them. Stock coils are made with silica as the wicking material, and it does not burn like cotton or other materials, so you don't have to do much other than pop the chimney off, pull of the two flavor wicks (that lay on top of the coil - don't lose them as you'll want to put them back on before re-assembling) Put the head on your EVOD base and pulse-fire until you see the coils smoke and then glow red. I would then remove the head, rinse under a touch of water to help get rid of the char and pulse until dry. Put the flavor wicks back on and then put the chimney back on. Poof - you have a clean head with which to continue the lovely vaping journey :) (Before you reinstall to a filled tank, you might want to put a couple drops of liquid on the coil before putting the chimney back on, so you don't get a dry hit when you first refill the tank.)

I was able to prolong the life of my coils (and stop throwing them away!), even with dry burning.

Hope you get to feeling better SOON!!!!

Blessings

Ah yes....this I did not know, having cystitis that is......oh and you may need to reduce the vaping in between "pulls"(puffs) using a high VG, it needs more time to be absorbed due to the thickness.
