Sometimes just knowing that other people have been in your shoes does help.

I went from pack-a-day for 37 years to vaping back when devices were a couple of watts, and 2 ohms was considered "low resistance" [emoji3]

I needed 24mg eliquids, and kept some 30 or 36 mg to get me over craving points (first thing in the morning, after a meal, drive to work). After a couple weeks I realized things were getting easier, and after a handful of months much better.

I stopped smoking and started vaping a week ago today. I was 1 1/2 ppd smoker. I'm using a Smok Pen 22 and using 6mg ejuice. How long should I stay with 6mg before I try going to 3mg?
I smoked a pack a day... started vaping with 18 mg (got down to 12m fairly soon) I would stick to your 6 mg for awhile.

I started at 9 and it was too strong for me. Nic sick aint fun. LOL I had been a pack a day ultra light smoker. Dropped to 6. Over the next year dropped to 0. Stayed there for just over a year and....It wasn't cig cravings that did me in. My Depression and Anxiety disorders went berserk.Went back on 3 nic and the disorders settled down no more problems. My doc and I agreed at that point vaping low nic was far better than the side effects I get from medications for my disorders.

SO it can go lots of ways. Just listen to what your body is telling you.

Actually (because you should always have a backup device anyway... just in case) Get another device and have 6 mg in one and 3 mg in the other... gives you options. It also depends on the device... higher power (more vapor) you can use less mg nic.
That is a great idea. Thanks! I have another device coming today. Being new, I like how the pens feel in my hand. I probably would have 5 or 6 at this point, but they are all out of stock. What's up with that? Am I missing something or just late to the party? Also, what is the best brand for devices? It is all very overwhelming when you don't know what you're doing. :)

I cut back from 24 to 18, and that was kind of ruff. 18 to 12 wasent so bad. 12 to 6vwas ruff at first. Havent been able to stick with 3. Kind of leveled out at 6 and im ok with that.
I started this with the intention of getting to 0 and then stop vaping. Would be great to get over all addictions. After a week, I don't see that as being feasible. I truly did not expect to enjoy vaping so much. So, I will stick with wherever I land with my nic and be ok with that.

Vaping is very enjoyable... no need to worry about cutting back on nic (yet) Relax... enjoy the vapor ;)

Yeah that timeline may be a bit unrealistic. I'm sure you can get to 0 if you really want but I might give it some time.

If you do stop hang on to your vape gear you may have a harder time replacing it in the future.

Yes, I agree. There may be a day when you actually get down to 0 mg nic but still enjoy vaping anyway.

I'm kinda freaking out now. After I figured out what PMTA is and what seems to be what is going to happen, I have 3 devices, just because I like new shiny things. Now I'm gonna end up with no juice. I picked the most wonderful time to start my journey.

Don't worry too much. There are a few juice companies that filed PMTA's. There will be juice available, just won't be a billion choices as we have now.

Companies like Halo have already sent in their PMTA for some of their juices, so don't worry there will still be ejuice on the market.. just expect prices to go up (a lot) once they run the taxes on nicotine...

However, you have time to purchase liquid nicotine base (100mg) which will last decades in your freezer... 1 liter will last the average vaper about 6-7 years and atm only costs about 50 dollars. Just purchase a few liters (decant into darker colored glass jars) and freeze it.

Things like flavorings, VG, and PG will always be available as they have other uses..

Then when the SHTF you can just DIY, I have a couple gallons + a couple liters in the freezer for personal use, and already DIY. (Myself, my husband and my son all vape and yes, everyone here wants to be named in my vape gear will.. lol)...

It's super easy to learn...
