ey guys and gals. yes just another newby wishing to tell of his plundge into the world of the electronic cig. i'm from the land down under so being able to get my hands on one has been a little difficult (as i've tried to source out a supplier in aus). anyways my first thoughts, well the concept is awsome and i can see myself sucking on these babies for years to come. but 8-owoah hold up the taste of these cartridges i got with it taste like the smell of wet dog or something. please tell me that i can overcome this buy buying some nice flavours (as the ones that came with it are marlboros). by the way it was just the generic super mini cigarette i bought. if there is anyone else from aus that could point me in the right direction for cartridges/juices for them that would be great. anyways guys i think i might suck on this thing a bit more and see if i can overcome the taste. by the way i haven't touched a smoke at all today, partly cause of the electronic cig, but mostly because this taste as put my right off smoking anything at all. spose there's one way to quit. :p
also just wanted to say:

LEAFORD: thanks for the reviews dude they have really helped in deciding which way to go with these. as i'm sure it's helped many people. keep up the good work.

PURESMOKER: dude from what everyone has been saying about you if you ever start posting down my way let me know and you'll have another fan to add to the club. your customer service seems nothing short of excellent. you also keep up the good work.:thumb:

till next time happy vapouring ppls.

Hi Diesel, welcome to the forum.

It's pretty common for people to not like the flavour of vapour at first, it can be a bit of an acquired taste. You'll probably find that you get used to it and it will get better. The cigarettes will start to taste yukky after a while too.

There are loads of different brands and flavours of eliquid to experiment with. There is sure to be something you like, it's just a matter of finding it.

Have a look around the forum for hints, this thread might help - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ussion/2706-what-your-favourite-flavours.html

We all like different tastes so you'll have to try a few out probably to find ones that suit you.

Keep it up, I hope you get to like the taste soon.

hi Kate,
thanks for the reply. It's true it does take getting used to. after sucking on it for a bit i don't notice the taste anymore. i feel a bit silly though buying the super mini now instead of a penstyle (as most new e-smokers do) as the vapour is a bit on the poor side. I'm thinking maybe i bought a dodgy one as i've gone through all 5 cartridges that came with it in less than a day. after the first few drags on a new cartridge the vapour drops heaps and once i exhale i get nothing coming out. maybe this is normal maybe my expectations are too high, but whatever it is i can see myself going crazy with buying heaps of e cigs. should i just buy a generic penstyle or is it worth the money getting the likes of a kissbox or diva (i've heard they are meant to be really good). sorry for the long/boring posts its just so overwhelming. i love it. now i might be able to finally play with my kids without gasping for air after 2 minutes. well i'd love to stay and ramble on more but i have a bit of e-cig shoppin to do:evil:

D1,you didnt buy a dodgy one...you just bought a supermini...the most inadequate model of ecig for the job...the cartridges last no time at all...

get yourself a penstyle if you want it to last longer...which one is up to you...opinions differ on whether its best to get a generic or an expensive model with warranty...

i dont know where you are in the world....but for what its worth,i say get a good generic, read the forum, form your own opinion from the available-and sometimes conflicting-information,and see how it goes from there...;)

Diesel, it's a lot cheaper to buy eliquid and refill the used cartridges if you can. I don't know if it's easy to refill super mini cartridges, you might need a syringe.

The most popular ecigs with forum members at the moment are the DSE901 mini and the Janty Kissbox Classic.

Not so popular but still worth a look in my opinion, the Sedansa Diva and the Ruyan 'Bling' ecigar.

i think i'm leaning towards the dse901 at the moment as i can then stock up on lots more juice and parts. then later i'll invest in a kissbox. i still haven't put my supermini down today. unfortunetely i'll have to resort to normal cigs by tomorrow till i can get the dse901 posted out. i'm really dreading it too. unless this guy in aus can get some more cartridges to me asap. lets hope. happy e-smoking i'll let you know how i go. for now i'm going to janty to order a hell of a lot of e-juice.:thumb:

Diesel hey mate how ya going, you may want to order some 36mg tobacco flavored juice (davidyang on this forum has it for about 20 bux a 30 ml bottle and I like the taste there are others too you can try)
Then go to Woolies and get a bottle of glycerine is way cheap like 5 bux for 200m that will last you ages. You can then mix it with the 36mg and presto a nearly unlimited supply of E Juice. I found the vapor from the VG bloody awesome. If you want to flavor it woolies also has some Queens flavorings at a huge 79 cents a bottle. Just make sure you get the ones with no oils which thankfully is nearly all of them but just check ok. The 36 mg bites hard harder than a winny red lol way harder you will love it lol.

Pak
Ps: Sorry if most can't decipher the Aussie bits but this is intended for Diesel and he'll understand.

sweet another aussie woo. thanks pak i like that idea. i'll get in contact with him very shortly and try organise some. then off to woolies.

a note to anyone starting out thinking about getting the super mini. DONT BOTHER! lol they are really quite terrible. cartridges run out way way way too quickly, i feel like i spend more time refilling then smoking. batteries run out quick, and after you take it of charge and use it its ok for the first few times then the battery just doesn't seem to have the kick to give out good vapour. i've ordered a penstyle so i will get that on wednesday then i can start really enjoying the experience. unfortunetly like most people say, new e-smokers go for the supermini and then get a false impression of what e-smoking is all about. lucky for me i did my research first and knew what i was getting into (it was the only one i could get locally). funny thing is i showed my sis and she tells me there's a guy at her work thats been selling them for ages, good ones too. thanks sis, i could of been saving myself alot earlier. anyways this guy has the generic penstyle, generic mini and the njoy penstyle. i've ordered the njoy for now but next week i'll get the generic pensyle to compare. but as soon as i get it the supermini is going in the bin where it belongs lol. anyways gotta go refill these carts again...:thumb:

They do have their place, Diesel, just not as one's main e-cig. As a backup, they're useful. They're good for sharing a smoke break with analog smokers. And of course, they're more impressive to show off to analog smokers than a penstyle. I usually carry one or two with either a higher strength or different flavor than my penstyle.

Njoy is an OK device, but it's the same model as the generics and doesn't perform any better than them; about a 4 out of 5 for vapor and a moderatly hard draw, a 3 out of 5. The difference is the warranty. Njoy has a one year replacement guarantee, so in the long run it'll save money over the generic, which typically only has a 30 day warranty.

But that model penstyle, the RN4072 or DSE-801, isn't the one I'd reccomend anyway, Njoy or generic. You caught me while I was gathering my thoughts on penstyles anyway so here they are:

There's another model, the SE101 or JOYE302, which can be recognized by four large holes in the battery end. It produces more vapor, a perfect 5 out of 5, compared with the with the 4072'S 4 of 5, and an easier draw, a 4 to 5 of 5. It's sold by Sedansa, Janty, ePuffer, LitecigUSA, and electroniccigarettesales.com. Maybe others, but those are the ones I know for sure. I reviewed the Sedansa, and recently have been trying to test all the other ones.

Sedansa is the best, for reliability, 5 of 5 in vapor, and longer battery life than average for a penstyle; but it's expensive, 100EU, and the warranty service can be slow, plus the long shipping time. Still it is the best I've tried yet, and it is warrantied for 5 years.

ePuffer was the second of this model I tried, and it's not as good as Sedansa. A 4 of 5 in vapor. Still, it's only $80, has a one year warranty, and the service is good and fairly quick.

Janty's Classic penstyle is almost as good as Sedansa, with 5 of 5 for vapor, but only has average battery life instead of Sedansa's extra long life batteries. It's about $92 and has a 6 month warranty. They also have a KISSbox Classic which has longer life batteries, a manual switch, and an optional USB battery. That runs $150 or so. But, IMO the atomizer on the KISSbox isn't as good as the one on the regular Classic, though. Another 4 instead of 5.

Jane's (electroniccigarettesales.com) is a 5 of 5 for vapor, and it's only $50, with a 1 year warranty, but it only seems to perform at its best when dripped. I am getting another of hers though, so we'll see if that's just that one atomizer. She has them in titanium, and wood, so they're certainly different.

I am going to be testing LitecigUSA soon, but my first quick test was impressive. It looks like another 5 of 5 for vapor, but I don't know about battery life yet. They're only $50 also, with a 6 month warranty.

thanks for that leaford. so many to choose from. but i think i'm leaning towards the janty classic or maybe kissbox or maybe sedansa. ahh hell might as well by one of each. then there's no questions asked haha. i like the idea of the manual switch as by the sounds of it you can prime the atomiser getting better results (so people say). i've found that the supermini i have is in the same boat as Jane's as it works best when dripped. i keep a topped up cartridge in their but also put a drop on the atomiser which gets it smoking nicely. cant wait to see how much vapour i get out of the penstyle.:thumb:
