WWay's batts are not IMR they are Li-Ions not LiMn (different chemistry) and hence should not be confused with IMRs

Ultrafire 3.6V 880mah Protected Li-Ion Rechargeable Battery RCR123A CR123A 16340 CR16340

which have a max continuous discharge rate of 1.5C

AW IMR16340 550 mAh IMR CR123 size LiMN Rechargeable Lithium Battery

which have a max continuous discharge rate of 8c

Two different batteries for 2 different jobs. They are fine with a 2 Ohm atty which is what WWay is using. If you are using a 1.5 Ohm (from Drew), then the Ultrafires are not designed to take the current draw.

This post is only intended to clarify a misconception, nothing else. Of course you are free to use anything you want in your device.

When I get my new switch installed, I will try it with the 2.0 attys that I am expecting from Iken. Then perhaps yet more batteries to order and add to my growing pile.

The 1.5 attys from Drew are inconsistent in nature. All have given great vapor production, but some are very harsh even at 3.7v . Also they do not seem to last very long, Had one of my few remaining ones blow yesterday on a regular 510 battery. The TW LR attys have been better as far as not being as harsh. Not sure of the rating on those. Without a big battery though I am still in the waiting mode.

Well, a trip to the Post Office brought me my AW 17670 and 14670 batteries from Lighthound and my atty selection and Chameleon extension tube from Iken. Just waiting for the switches. Hopefully in a few days I will have no complaints once again. Shipping from both vendors has been very fast indeed.

• Yes they are and with all due respect a "rookie" is operating them. I am on my original 2 LRs from Drew that I received back in march the week after Vapefest. They will mellow out (season) with time if ya don't pop 'em. I will concede that I do not use them all the time, regardless I would have to say in all humility, that I must be doing something right:
• Many folks will insist on heavily ladden VG juice for LRs. Nope! The juice does not provide the wetness necessary to keep the atty wet. A cart cannot feed an LR adequately, it would be like using a 1/16 fuel line to feed a 4 bbl carb. Something is going to starve and it ain't the fuel tank; and
• Using the wrong battery. many folks are getting away with it. They are not extrapolating the evidence or performing post mortems why there batts or attys are failing. Using the wrong batt on an LR atty is like using a 1/16" fuel line to a 4 bbl carb. Something is bound to give. The atty is not being fired properly and overheats, because it is being improperly fed (electrically). See how long it takes to pop an atty in a flooded state with the proper battery. Same thing is happening there, you will be amazed how quick one will pop.

Don't fret Lex, there's a learning curve, we will get you there.

Cool! Now your the order of prioprities is to charge the batts in anticipation of the switches coming in. Then vape while you are waiting for them to charge LOL.

I have them on the charger as we speak. Big batteries so they will take some time which I have right now.

I understand the learning curve and have only been using the LR attys for a few weeks. I have blown away most of them. Only a dripper for some time, got my first PV last September and first mod (Protege, now lost) in Nov. Once I am able, planning on getting a back up mod so when (not if) one stops working I will not have to go through this.

Hopefully Iken's 2.0s will be in the sweet spot and with care last a bit longer than the others. More batteries in the mail and with the info you provided probably more yet to order. I had such good luck with the 14500s and the Protege I did not keep up with the times vis a vis 16340s.

I did the pry and turn with the sector on the body. I was trying to be gentle and not mark up the soft aluminum ring too much. Looked at the video and saw the marks on your demo model. Guess it cannot be helped. Must be a special tool to get it out easier, but I do not have that tool.

I think my mistake was bending the prongs back out allow easier insertion of the discs. When I folded them in again they broke.

Guess I will have to wait to try the 2.0 attys that might get here today. And the 14670 17670 batteries on the way.Not to mention the IMR UltraFire ICR 123As That WitchWay has had luck with.

Oh no Lex, no special tool, mine was the 1st one I ever received and and from my fool hardy impatient attitude, I pried it open hundred times, without waiting for proper instructions. Love taking things apart, but usually do more damage then good the 1st time around.
The key is patience and a flat head screwdriver. When you place in the screwdriver, you pry it up gently, so gently it's not even visible, you just make your way around the lid and it will pop off in about 10 seconds cleanly. MY problem is turning the brass connectors on each side, because they're so darn sensitive.

The prongs are fragile and can get so many turns out of them, especially when they're twisted to begin with.
Another tip to keep in mind, in the video I bent the prongs for adjustment And for clearance of the moon rings.
*Turn the upper prongs 90° outwards, lift, then turn in to the center of the sector .* ie. Raising your arms in the air then bring your hands almost together.

This is what I did.. I was given some by a friend that has a little electronic's shop that were a bit too long.
Dremel tool ftw lmao This way I can cut them to exactly the length I want.
I have about 10 spare switches now for oh crap moments.
I haven't had to change mine out yet as it's still kicking along with all the carto's I got from Iken.
I actually haven't had to buy anything lately because all the gear I got from Iken just keep's going like energizer bunnies

Reading this thread. Forgot about the trick of putting a piece of foil in the end cap. Finally, my Laser now works good. Thanks to all you good people.

I'm lucky and hubby loaded me with accessories for the dremel lmao
I used a tiny little spring clamp thingy to hold the switch and my flex shaft
(highly recommend this if you have a dremel, I use it alot) You can hold it like a fatty marker and much easier to work on small stuff..

Those things are great! My dremel hangs off a hook next to my desk with the flex shaft attached at all times. I couldn't work the dremel without it, it's just too big and heavy for my small weak hands. You should get a foot pedel too. Not sure where hubby got the one he got for me, but they can't be that hard to find.

Exactly! The flex shaft makes it SO much easier and lighter to work with, especially on small stuff.
I didn't know about the foot pedal, that would be awesome! I'll have hubby go see if he can find me one.
