I totally quit smoking back in Aug. 2012. Started using an e-cig. Long story short, I started smoking one or two cigarettes a couple months ago. Now I'm ready to quit vaping and just go back to cigs. The biggest issue is I'm getting something from tobacco that makes me feel better that I don't get from e-cigs. I tried using a pretty strong nicotine liquid (mixed my own) and it still just doesn't do it for me. On top of that is the expense and disappointment with the products.

I can deal with the power/battery issues, but I'm frustrated with the Vision Vivi Nova, CE3's, cartos, and another carto tank I tried. I also hate devoting so many hours to this forum - you all are great, but it requires way too much time.

Just wondering if anyone else went through this and what they did about it? I'm really upset with myself and would like to quit all of it, but just can't seem to do it. I actually feel better from what I get from tobacco.

(I'm rolling my own with American Spirit tobacco.)

I'm sorry you're having so much trouble, your story sounds so similar to mine. WTA seems to be helping me a LOT and of course, vaping my brains out on regular juice. I'd like to invite you to read all our stories on this thread:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...dicted-smoking-habit-support-chat-thread.html

There's a lot of frank talk, no room for self-flagellation, and a whole lot of people still trying to figure it out.

For the immediate future, are you okay with what's going on? Are you asking for advice on how to quit, or commiseration? I have a ton of the second, not so much on the first.

I don't know, maybe just commiseration. I always have something going on (I have depression). I just know that it was so awful to quit back in August and don't want to go through that again. So before I go full blown smoking, thought I'd try and post.

    Thanks for the link!

I was going to ask if maybe you suffered from depression; perhaps a visit with your doctor for some updated anti-depressants might help? I had to change all mine up recently & it has really helped alot! Think about it anyway:)

I loved smoking more than anything in life, I thought it was ecigs was the reason I quit but since everyone else I bought kits for didn't quit. I realized it was a book I read the day before I got my first kit " The easy way to quit smoking" by Alan Carr. I don't think about cigarettes and I can be sitting next to a smoker and it doesn't bother me a bit. I smoked 2 pad for over 30 years and I don't think about miss them at all. Buy this book it really works.

Hey OP, you're definitely not alone. The link that FinallyQuit is a fantastic thread for those of us who still struggle, or are about done feeling guilty about smoking while vaping. For some of us, there is definitely something else in the cigarettes that feeds a need, or gives us that extra "something". For those who don't have that need, it's just a matter of vaping through it, but for us that just doesn't work with just nicotine.

WTA has been a great help to me, and after 3 weeks of smoking 1-2 a day (after being smoke-free for 3 weeks or so) I'm back on my first day without any.

Anyway, you're in good company here, and there ARE people who know exactly where you are right now. Don't give up if you really want to quit...there is a way to make it work. Good Luck!

There's been a TON of discussion on the anti-depressants that are found in tobacco smoke. I vape, but I also have 1-2 cigarettes a day (and an extra cup of decaf coffee), so I can get the beta carbolines--without them, I can have a pretty bad attack of depression. Maybe your body's trying to tell you something?

As much as I enjoy vaping, I don't have a quit-or-die attitude. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: not all of those 4,000 chemicals are bad.

BTW: my husband and I do SYO with American Spirit tobacco and Zen tubes. It allays some of the bad & nasty stuff that you find in pre-packaged cigarettes, namely the binders, adhesives and flame ......ants. It's a small improvement, but I take what I can get.

If you feel like you need a couple of cigarettes a day, then do it and enjoy it. A couple of smokes a day is better than a pack a day.

And if you get frustrated about the gear, well, I hear ya! I don't have a posh setup, just a 900 ego battery and Kanger T2 tanks--no muss, no fuss. For now, I'm trying to be a low-maintenance vaper.

    I hope you feel better!

I guess the only thing I can add is don't think about it so hard. Just take it one day at a time. It can be done if it is truly your own decision. It is hard sometimes not to be influence by our friends. I too am under a lot of stress and have no insurance for the first time in my life. I think my problems have actually helped me keep vaping. Not smoking is the only thing that I do have complete control over right now. Bottom line is that you are a big girl. If you want to smoke, do it. If you want to stop like you have already proven that you can, keep looking for something that will satisfy you. If you are unsure.... come back to this forum and ask for support. I don't mean to sound like it is really that simple because my heart goes out to anyone that is troubled. (including myself). Hope I haven't made you feel worse. Good luck.

It took me 6 months to quit smoking completely. What did it for me was dripping on an automatic. There's something in the feel, throat hit and flavor that I can't get from manual batteries or cartos or clearos. Now I only drip or use an atomizer tank on an auto, or else I'd go right back to smoking.

    Good luck.

Aromaejuice only offers 10 ml bottles @ $12 and only in 12 mg nicotine level. Might try it, but no way can I afford their eliquid on a regular basis. It would cost me $12+/day just for the eliquid.

I did try the Perfumer's Apprentice's "Tobacco Extract" with the "M-Type" which I believe is tobacco derived. I wonder if I'm getting the alkaloids, though it seems to clog up my coils.

I did read the book by Alan Carr. It was useful and a pretty good book for wrapping your mind around your thinking.

The funny thing is that I thought stopping smoking would make me feel better physically, but I really don't. I don't miss the coughing up crud and that came back after smoking only a couple cigs a day, plus smoking other stuff :)ohmy:), but I miss the chemicals.

I think I'm also thinking about the cost (which was the biggest motivator for me to stop smoking) because I need to order more supplies to continue vaping, but it's very expensive and nothing works really well.

Maybe I need to try a different tank (Kanger T2) because I'm fed up with the Vivi Nova for a lot of reasons. But I spend hours researching about something before I buy it only to find it disappoints. I find vaping a real PITA!

Bottom line is I'm really scared to start really smoking again. The first 3 days to 2 weeks were absolute hell when I quit. I never want to go through that again (that thought kept me going).

Thanks everyone! I feel like I sent out an SOS with all the responses I received.

I also suffer from depression. Not severe enough to go to a doctor unless I stop nicotine completely.
Yep you heard it right, nicotine is an anti-depressant.
    Try this expire meant.
Get your 12 meg juice. Draw it gently into your mouth, the slowly breathe it OUT through your nose. The membranes in both your mout and nose will absorbe the nicotine more readily than your lungs will.
Have to warn you though... This method may make you sneeze or even give you a runny nose!
Better than the depression IMO, but you gotta do what works for YOU.
