Help! Tight lungs and shallow breath

I have been exclusively vaping for a week and a half. One of the reasons I decided to switch was that my lungs were killing me on analog. Now, when I wake up I can breath easy and my lungs don't hurt. The second I take my first hit from my PV, my lungs tighten up and I cannot breath as deep.

Can someone let me know what this could possibly be or what I could do to avoid this? I don't want to go back to analog!

Only thing I can think is that either it's the juice or possibly the heat of the vapour causing your lungs to close up, although I have asthma and the first puff of a cigarette in the morning would make me completely wheezy, I'm thinking that maybe the human body just doesnt like anything but air in the lungs for the first few hours of the morning!

I had asthma as well when I smoked, but it was a mild case that seems to now been gone since I've been vaping. If you also have asthma during your transition consider a puff of your inhaler before your morning go at your PV for now? May be a helpful idea to consider before you can get your hands on different juice. It may be a PG sensitivity. It may also just be a sensitivity to that particular vendor. Your body also may still be adjusting to vaping. If it gets really bad, take a break from your new toy for now!

You can get 100% VG in many places, but I'm wondering if your juice might have some cinnamon flavoring in it? It took me a few months to figure out that cinnamon gives me a very similar reaction. I'd try plain PG, plain VG until you figure out what is causing the reaction. I hope you start feeling better soon.

I'm asthmatic and going into a sauna gives me a similar response. It's the heat that gets me. Vaping actually makes me physically warm/flushed. I usually have some very cold water near me when I'm vaping at home and sit by a heavy duty fan.

Many allergies have skin responses too like hives. If you have a sudden rash or skin itching happen when you have the response (or within an hour of the response), I'd say the chance of allergy is 100%.

It may be PG related- but remember all flavoured eliquids have flavouring agents/colourings that some people have sensitivity to. Asthmatics tend to have a hyperallergenic immune system (ie prone to allergic reactions). As others have mentioned, try different liquids and if in any doubt, try to avoid the brightly coloured ones.

Best of luck and I hope you feel better soon.
