I got my first vaporizer kit in the middle of May, and it worked great until a couple days ago. For the last 2 days I tried charging it through USB ports on my laptop and with my car charger and 2 wall chargers. One of my wall charges is a 2 amp charger for my Samsung note 2 which uses a 3100mah battery. Now the spinner will be plugged in for hours even over night and will not fully charge, and at times when charged for an hour I might get 2-5 puffs at 3.3 volts. I also been charging it at 4.2 volts and cleaned the contacts on the spinner and on the dongle charger. I also tried a different charger both rated at 420mah. Any advice? TIA

When you connect the battery and plug the charger in what's it doing? Is the switch LED flashing several times (indicating a good connection has been established) as it should?

Yes, it does the normal LED flash, when plugged in then the solid Led light stays on, but never turns off and the red light doesn't turn green anymore. I actually charged the battery for over 3 hours earlier, and the battery LED light didn't indicate it was dead or dying, I used it for an hour or 2 tops, and now has been charging again for a little over 3 hours and the solid LED light is still on.

When that happened to me it was my charging cable...I don't know why it wouldn't charge with the car charger...maybe not enough power? I would go ahead and get another charging cable before I bought a battery. You need a back up anyway if thats not the problem but its a lot cheaper then buying a new battery.

I have a Spinner since last Oct and its still going strong.

Weird, the red light should flash red and green, or at least it does on my charger. When I had a problem charging my Spinner, both the red and green light were on at the same time. I had to take something small, like a paper clip, and gently pry up on the center pin of the Spinner's 510 connection. Turn the Spinner off then work all the way around gently working up the center pin, make a few complete passes all the way around the 510 center pin. You don't want to use much force, sometimes these pins get pushed down from over tightening and certain juice delivery systems just seem to push them down.

Not sure this is your problem, but its quick, easy and free to try, just make sure you turn the battery off before trying.

I know you've had them for 3 months, but I thought I'd offer these tips anyway: Clean the battery connection and USB charger connection with isopropyl and a Q-Tip. Then make sure the Spinner's set to 4.2v. For some reason, they seem to take a much longer time to charge if you don't set them to 4.2v. Try a wall outlet with nothing else attached to it, in a room that's on a barely used circuit. I have issues every so often like this, but one of these procedures always fixes it. I found that if I try to charge it it the kitchen with the dishwasher on, it takes MUCH longer! Weird. Old house, old wiring.

EDIT: Follow TheSteve's advice as well, I forgot about that one.

I have had it charging on an outlet with nothing else plugged in, the battery and charger contacts have been cleaned and has been set to 4.2 for and charging for over 13 and a 1/2 hours and still didn't turn green and the white LED light is still on.

I have already tried 2 charging cables same result.

The red and green lights flash during the charge cycle, I meant the white LED light from the button won't turn off anymore while charging and the red/green flash never changes to solid green.

One last try, as with other lithium ion batteries, like for cell phones, RC vehicles, etc... Run it as dead as you can, beyond what you normally do, entirely dead (as in won't even light a single LED bulb is ideal) put it on a charger you KNOW is good and let it be for 48 hours - yes 48 hours, I don't care what the lights do.

Now see if it's back to life.

Did you have the same problem before and if you did, did this fix the problem?

I am sorry, I cannot agree with that at all. Lithium Ion batteries never need to be "cycled". That was for NI Cads, 30 year old technology when batteries developed a memory.

Running the battery below 3.2 volts is trying to kill the battery. Then re-charge for 48 hours? that is simply wrong. You are asking for issues there.

I was wondering about that...I read that the spinner shuts down after it's below 3.2v to protect the battery.

Dude, it's probably the center pin.... you use a paper clip and raise it a bit....it is not making correct contact. Never had the problem with an ego twist from joyetech though. Do a google search and watch a vid or two and try it.

If that doesn't work and you have tried multiple chargers, than the battery might be dead. Is there a warranty on it still from where you bought it? The center pin problem is why I went with a genuine twist from my vapor store. Less problems and has worked like it should since the end of March when I got it.

Only thing I hate about the twists is reading volts on the bottom... it's a ..... in certain lighting. I just do it by feel now.

No, the place I got it from only gave me a week to exchange it. I went to another store I usually go to to buy everything that is a vapor store only and the guy there even cleaned my battery contacts and checked to see if everything was still connected. The battery will still take a charge, but takes a lot longer than normal.

Thanks everyone for all your help! I figured it out after buying a new battery and having the same problem. It was a different 510 VV battery FOR $35, luckily I didn't go for the mods and waste around $100+ which I was so tempted to get. I decided to try and buy another charger, turned out my charger started going bad after less than 3 weeks. I am now on my 4th charger in less than 3 months.

Similar experience with my Vision Spinner lately (which is less than 6 weeks old).

It's my back up so it charges overnight and I take it with me in case I need it. Yesterday, I went to use it and it was totally dead, even though it had been on the charger the night before and had been in my pocket for about 6 hours. I figured it was user error and plugged it back in to charge last night.

Today I took it with me to work and at about 5pm I went to use it and it was totally dead again.

Haven't really tried any trouble shooting yet, but it's the same charger I use for my Ego and it charges fine.

Did you try pressing the button quickly and repeatedly 5x? I know that locks and unlocks the power, I've read that some people some how locked their spinners off and didn't notice how they did it or said it did it on it's own.

Oh yeah, pressed it about 100 times. Doesn't light up at all.

I did a lot of google searching the last few days, about the vision spinner and seen some people having issues with the power button breaking or the contact breaking or getting loose and people who ended up with bad batteries or one's that failed with in 3 months.
