Hi all! I guess I am wondering what to order (three components?), and if anyone knows where the best place to order from is- that would be greatly appreciated! My boyfriend wants to quit...he smokes camel lights (which I think are 8mg?)...about a pack a day and he has been doing it for about 12 yrs....I am wondering what someone would recommend??? I am willing to spend $75 + or - to get it started...Would prefer an e-cig that looks, feels, and tastes the most similiar to what he is smoking now, that way he doesn't feel a huge amount of change. I want his quitting process to be as easy and pleasant as possible.

Any help would be greatly GREATLY appreciated.

PS. I almost fell into a commercial scam last night...called and ordered...and cancelled today. I think it would be more appropriate to follow the advice of you "professionals" than those involved with a radio scam.

THANK YOU!!!! :D:):rolleyes::lol:

This is just my opinion but if you really want to stop smoking I would by the eGo as my first PV. If they would have been out when I first started I would have gone that rout. There are a lot of threads about the eGo and the Tornado (both are exactly the same) here on ECF just do a search - Janty eGo or Totally Wicked Tornado. I hope this helps ya out. You are going to want to order some e-liquid too so you can refill your carts. Good luck and welcome! :)

I would also recommend to buy a few flavors of juice not just tobacco...i thought id love tobacco and hated it...preferring chocolatey flavors now : o)

if you want to take a look around the "sticky" forum, the link is in my signature...its a group with posts from older members whove posted the mistake they made as a newcomer and how they got past them...

I have to go with the opinions of the masses, the 510 from cignot. It's the model I chose after researching this site for days on end. I like you was trying to get one as close to a real cigarette as possible but found out vaping is not smoking. I was going to get a 901 but after someone told me a 510 I changed and I'm glad.read The Wonderful World of Vaping: An Illustrated Guide to E-cigs (Parts 1 through 6) in the ecf library section and it has all the info you need to make the choice that fits you and your guy. Best of luck in your choice.

Welcome to the forum and I, too, am a 510 gal and ordered from Cignot. I have been very happy with the 510 and the girls at Cignot...........Well, their great customer service and prices cannot be beat! Like everyone said above though, don't forget some extra atty's and some ejuice. I also got a couple of extra mega batteries and PTB cartridges. Again, happy to have you!

what worked for me was just as 5cardstud said: go on over to cignot.com and pick up a starter kit for $35. then get some liquid. cignot sells liquid but i have never tried theirs so im not sure about the quality or price (it might be great, i just dont know). i would look for a sample pack of liquids and get some tobacco flavors and some non-tobacco flavors to find what you like.

I personally would go with a 510 kit or two from Cignot. And get a PCC charging case, and a USB passthru. No offense to the other posters, but I don't think going for a bigger mod initially is a good idea. The basic 510 will teach you about vaping and how to maintain a PV, and has the most posted support and info here to learn from. And the 510 is a terrific PV to vape with and learn on.

As for what you or your hubby smoked, or how strong they were, or how much you smoked a day, these numbers tell you nothing about what will satisfy you in vaping. Vaping levels and smoking levels, because the absorption of nic and the variablity of smoking and vaping habits is large, just get a good PV with a variety of juice strengths, and take some time to find the level that works for you. Whatever this level is, comparing to others is not generally meaningful. And even if you use a 510, differences in cart filler materials and how well the cart wicks will make a big difference in vaping quality and efficiency.

Welcome, and good luck! Hope you find a great PV and start enjoying it soon!! :)

I think I am going to go with a 510 for now...I can get 2 complete Joye 510 cigarettes (2 atomizers and 2 batteries), 5 prefilled carts, 1 AC charger, 1 PCC, and -PG Blended (DK-TAB) 26mg 5ml -ECOpure 3ml, Fresh, 25mg Nicotine... for $65
That should be good to start right?

If I understand right the prefilled carts might not be as good as refilling with liquid...can I refill the prefilled?
Can I 'cut' the 26mg....I think he really only needs 18mg max?

This is near to rocket science....

I have to agree with Kurt. Given the choice between an eGo and a stock 510, most experienced vapers are going to go with the eGo 100% of the time. However, I think most people that are brand new to vaping are going to want that 'near cig' experience.

I would definitely recommend a 510 or KR808 for the first go at it; especially if this is for someone else that may (or may not IDK) be skeptical of the whole thing to begin with. It also makes for a much easier transition to vaping if you are handling something very similar to a cigarette. I don't think the look (white batt/brown cart/orange light) matters all that much, but the size and shape can be important for the psychological aspects at first.

Just my .02

Edit: Good choice karmakayti.

I would let him go ahead and try the prefilled (they are not totally disgusting), and if he doesn't like it, just pull out the stuffing, dab it dry, put it back in and refill with one of your juices.

I would also not worry about cutting the nic down unless he is really blown away with it. The higher nic is going to give a little better (more cig like) throat hit, and it will also demonstrate to him that his 'nic fix' can be achieved with these things.

I smoked the same as your boyfriend, so did my wife. Your criteria was about the same as ours, with size and whatnot. We ordered the Sidesho from modernvapor.com. Customer support is outstanding. I would recommend some additional flavored juice in addition to tobacco to let him experiment. A lot of us wind up preferring not to smoke tobacco taste. This might help (him as well).
