I think there is something seriously wrong with me, I know I have quit smoking for a week and found today falling off the vaping wagon and going for analogs for the day. Am I the only one out there, please share so I feel I'm not alone. I was having a hard time but today was the worst. Now I feel like I'm back to square one!

I have done the same thing. I just decided that it happens, and went back to vaping, with a rare slip now and then. I don't even smoke the analog now. I think I have to have it, take a puff or two and out it goes. You will get there. Don't beat yourself up about. For many of us quitting it very hard,

no need to "traditionally" quit either, so you smoked analogs for a day, no big deal, noone said you have to swap them out and never have an analog again, go slow don't worry. for me I wanted smokes for about 2 weeks then they disgusted me, now I have one every now and again, I don't mind them but would never go back to them full time and quit vaping.

I cut down from a pack and a half to 8 a day when I first started vaping. Over 45 days, I got down to 2 -3 analogs a day. The problem for me was the inconsistent mini-battery model PV I was using. Once I moved up to a better PV, with more powerful batteries, that better simulated the real thing, I quit completely. Warmer vapor, batteries that don't drop off in performance for many hours and that last a day on a charge made all the difference. The other factor was having higher strength nicotine eliquid. I started at 36mg strength and went down to 24 after about 30 days. That combined with the more powerful battery PV made a big difference. I'm now down to 16mg eliquid because I have an even better battery PV.

I agree with generic , dont let that get you down but also do your best not to let it happen again either. I would recommend pounding as much water as you can as fast as you can when you get a craving. You will feel somewhat ill for a moment but you sure won't want a cig. Goodluck and hang in there. YOU CAN DO IT ! :D

There is no "wagon". Either way we are still getting our nicotine, just 2 different ways to get it. It's not the "all or nothing" method anymore. It's not like there is no nicotine in our system and then we slip and have to go through withdrawal again. Vaping helps us withdraw from smoking without withdrawing from nicotine. There is no guilt.

We only need (so I've heard) the nicotine from 4 cigarettes a day to fulfill the nicotine part of our addiction. The last 2 to 4 are therefore the hardest to give up. I made myself vape before I had a cigarette (especially the first one each day). Eventually I didn't want or need the cigarette. My story is told below (by wv2win).

My story exactly (thank you for saving me the typing) except I vape 12mg mostly and have 24mg available to beat any strong cravings.

Relax! Enjoy!

I didn't start vaping to quit smoking. I was around someone that had to quit and I thought it would make it harder for them. I didn't put any pressure on myself. When I wanted a cigarette, I made sure I vaped first. Slowly I smoked less and less. I got to 1 cigarette a day and eventually I didn't even want that one.

It really helped that I didn't have my favorite brand around. If I did, it would have been really hard. I had some terrible RYO tobacco and if I wanted a cig, it was work! I just slowly forgot about it.

About a month after I stopped completely I didn't have a battery charged and started to have one. It tasted so nasty, I just put it out and waited for my battery to charge.

I'm getting everything I wanted from cigs without (to me) the negatives. No $8.00 packs. No smell - that was a big one! I like vaping 100x better than I ever liked smoking.

Don't have them accessible. Change brands if you do buy them. If you want one, tell yourself you'll wait 15 minutes. The affects of nicotine when you smoke are immediate. With vaping it's slower to get in your system because you absorb it differently. 15 minutes later you won't want one.

I didn't start vaping in order to quit smoking either...just for "harm reduction" to cut down, have less stinky vehicles, whatever.
So it's been seven weeks since I got my first real PV and I still have the occasional cigarette. They taste nasty, for sure. But the addict part of my brain wants the occasional smoke (I bum them now LOL; haven't bought tobacco in over a week) and let's not fool ourselves: as long as we're vaping nicotine, we're still addicted.

So I have cut down from about 50 RYO smokes per day (for most of the last 37 years), to one, maybe two, per day, at this point - I've gone as long as 4 days without smoking a couple of times. I'm not beating myself up over this, why would I? Hell, I am freaking delighted about this! In terms of harm reduction, this is HUGE. I think you should congratulate yourself for all the cigarettes you've NOT smoked and not beat yourself up for still smoking the occasional one after the first week.

Now, it's been almost two days since I had a smoke, and I may or may not bum a smoke off an employee tomorrow, but either way it's OK. Vaping is certainly a permanent part of my future from now on - my morning cough is GONE, I have more energy, my non-smoking friends are proud of me, I've converted a couple of smoking friends already, what's not to like? :)

Dude day 5 here and it has been ROUGH! A ton of my co-workers smoke analogs and some habits are hard, hard, hard to break. I live in the heart of the bible belt... they should call it we can't have sex, alcohol, or fun so we smoke belt. Because smoking is acceptable all over the place here! STAY STRONG! For me (and of course these things are just my humble opinion) all those quit smoking tips are helping. I have a list of reasons why I HATE smoking analogs posted all over the place. It's my phone background and screen saver, on my monitor at work, on my bathroom mirror, in my car on the steering wheel; etc. Beside the, "CON's" list is a "PRO's" of vaping list. All of the reasons why vaping is so much better!

Get rid of the ashtrays, give away the lighters, avoid the smoking areas, pass on smoking friends; at least for a few weeks (heck, I convinced a couple of them to switch over with me!) Get the "juices" that you like; that give you the nicotine hit that you need, and get excited about trying new things (me, personally I'm waiting on 20 sample bottles of all different flavors of juices, kind of like a kid at Christmas.)

But most of all keep that eCig charged, keep it at hand and hit it every time that burning desire won't pass.

I keep thinking about all of the awesome things that are happening because I'm off of analogs.
* I can smell everything again (it's spring here and that's rather lovely)
* My car is clean and stays that way
* My hands. OMG my hands now that I'm not washing my hands every hour they feel so much better
* FOOD when did food stop tasting so good? When did I quit realizing how great it tasted without a ton of, "extra"?
* My lungs!?!? I'm not coughing any more... When did coughing every day become normal?
* Dude extra money in my pocket!!! Holy crap I went crazy this month and bought a TON of juice sample sizes and I spent less for 20 of them than I would have for 4 months worth of analogs. Still less than I spent a month on analogs.

BUT most of all remember even if you don't succeed today and take an analog you can start again tomorrow or the next day. Even if you smoke an analog a day forever, that is better than a pack!

Best of luck!

I fell of the wagon and was running an e-cig business at the time! Youre not alone. All I can tell you is sit down and try to figure out what made you go back to cigarettes? Did an atomizer fail? Were you not getting that hit you wanted, was it too inconvenient? Be honest with yourself and post here and we'll all be glad to offer solutions.

Main thing is to keep trying and keep looking for that perfect setup that works for you.

Don't worry, it takes lots of people awhile to quit. I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day and it took me months. I did it by cutting down the ones I did smoke by stages. First only 2 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon and 2 at night. Then I cut down to the 1 in the morning and at night. Then I cut the noon one etc. I also had to go higher nic at first for the cravings but go lower nic for in between. Don't give up it will happen. Every time you vape instead of have a cigarette think of that one you didn't smoke.

Words of wisdom here.

I've been vaping for 5 weeks as of yesterday and I still smoke analogs. I've cut my consumption to about 1/4 of what it was. Think of that - a 75% reduction in what I smoked. That's huge.

I'll drop them entirely. That's my goal and I keep it in sight.

I agree this is very hard to accomplish! Most likely, the hardest thing you will do in your life.

Me, I have tried them all and nothing really worked. So this time, I am doing a vape when I would normally burn an analog. Same daily routine and that does seem to help me.

Everything you read says it will get better but it will take time. I feel your pain on this, I am just a day or two ahead of you!
