I'm glad you posted that Johnnie. I thought the Halo was 510/eGo threaded and there are neither on them.
BTW, a drip shield on a 510 atty needs a 510 to 510 adapter for the shield's O-ring to seat on under the atty. Works well
The eGo threading is pretty much the same whether the inner threading is 510 or 808. On a 510 device, the threading goes a little deeper but any cone made for an eGo style battery will work just fine on a vGo style battery. The issue with the outer threading matters when it comes to tanks like the T2 and T3 because the center pin on a vGo/808 is higher than on an eGo/510. Some people used eGo threaded T3's on their vGo batteries before the vGo threaded versions came out, but it's a good way to ruin your positive pin and destroy your battery.
The good news is that issue is getting lesser by the day. TheTriton tanks are re-branded T2's, so any T2 tank and atomizer will work on the Triton base. The same is true for Smokeless Image's T3's. Why no branded 808 vendor bothers to sell a 901 atomizer for use with their manual batteries is beyond me. I see more new members move away from 808 equipment and buy all new gear simply to drip. An 808 threaded RDA would be nice as well.
At the end of the day, a regulated battery is a regulated battery and as long as it supplies adequate power to the atomizer then there's little need to recycle it beyond asthetics and personal preference. That's what adapters are for and unless you get into 808 automatics then they all work the same as well.
Also, it's been explained to me many times how to use a drip shield on a 510. I just can't visualize it. Maybe because the only time I used a drip shield was with a 901 attyand I get how that works. It doesn't matter since I'm now one of those annoying bottom feeder people, so I have no need for one.
To the OP> You may as well grab an adapter as well. Eventually you will want something 510 threaded and they are good to have. And if you become a dedicated dripper, we have a thread for that in the atomizers sub-forum. Also, as long as you keep that Triton battery, check out Smokeless Image, Bloog, V2 and V4L for other options for your batteries. NHaler and MadVapes are also good vendors for some decent 808 equipment you won't find at the branded vendors and Vapor Kings as well. Good luck.
