HELP with a neglected AFS!

Waffle..that's like my collection of Zippos that I'll never give up...some I've had since junior high school even...some are rare..some with initials...all are priceless and won't leave my side till I die..then someone can fight over them..lol!

Oooh we must talk Zippos sometime!!! I have a fairly decent collection as well.

Honestly I'm waiting for a Zippo insert mod. Someone was working on one in another forum, but I've yet to see how it turns out.

That's another project I would like to tackle some day... desperately trying to find a friend that is a whiz at machining.

I took so many hours learning zippo tricks, I would love to be able to carry some of them around again!!

Yeah...I saw that Zippo mod..but I wouldn't tear up any in my collection for it...it would require buying a new one to tear up...the others have too much soul and too many memories...LOL!

I want to make the PV as an insert, so you could interchange it between Zippos.

No WAY would I tear mine up.....

I received my AFS, purchased 2nd hand (not from C9 or VK) and found that it was in pretty bad shape. I've read the forums about cleaning and such, but pretty much everything deals with maintenance and aesthetics. THIS is an entirely different situation. I don't feel comfortable vaping anything out of this until I get it clean.

Hopefully the pictures will load, because I need some suggestions on how to revive my poor AFS. The build-up of grime, tarnish and other soily bits has really got me down. I've tried everything I know so I'm reaching out to the pro's and I'm looking for ideas to get this thing usable again. My AFS and I need HELP!

"Mother's Billet Metal Polish" found in auto parts stores. A friend of mine that details cars and bikes showed me and I quickly picked some up. It makes my GGTS shine like a mirror in a matter of seconds. Even my button looks like a mirror!

Its kind of a cool little homemod. Funny that his has Camel on it though.

Ill have to find that thread and see if he ever did anything.
I even offered zippo inserts for testing and whatnot... pretty much got ignored though. Dude probably never followed through.

I know when I'm beat.

I've soaked, boiled, rubbed, scrubbed, polished, washed and shined as much as I can and it still doesn't look or work like I want it to.

I got it clean enough, I think, to vape with. I've tried the iatty and drilled cartomizer, but still have leaks. This AFS is trying to tell me something. So, I'll take some new pictures and will be posting on the classifieds soon. Before I post it for sale, anyone that wants it PM me with an offer. Thanks for all of the help friends....guess I'll just have to wait until the GGTS AFS is released.
