Help with Batterys Question?

Hi and thanks in advance. I'm trying to find out what would be the best battery and charger for AA batteries. I'm so sick of buying these AA batteries for all the things in my house that uses them and I have been going through hundreds of dollars worth a year. Please point me in the best direction for some AA Rechargeable and a Charger that will work. Or explain please how you know what charger works for what batteries. Thank you.

If you're talking standard AA's for household appliances/gadgets, various home improvement stores (I got mine at Lowe's) carry an energizer recharger (CH15MN) that will recharge both AA and AAA Nimh batteries. It recharges them in 15 minutes. The batteries are sold lots of different places and can be recharged hundreds of times.

Regular AA's are NiMh. To add to this quote, Wal-Mart has an Energizer charger that will charge anything from AAA up to D for $20. Of course they do have smaller cheaper options...I just think the universal charger is pretty handy.

Actually, regular AA's are usually NOT rechargeable. You have to buy batteries that are specifically designed to be recharged. I mentioned the Nimh because they are usually meant to be recharged (check the package) and because they can be recharged quickly. Not all rechargeable ones can.

Thanks just picked one up at walmart and charging now. I got the energizer smart charger and batts.

I've had great success with those (toothbrush, radios, etc.) I also built a mod using 4 AAA's that works like a charm (see "Puck" in my signature below, if you're into "tinkering")

Actually, regular AA's are usually NOT rechargeable.

LOL Woops! What I meant was that the rechargeable AA's at Wal-Mart are NiMh.

I just bought some AAA's at CVS and (with their card) they were half price (2 sets for 9.99). Probably same deal on the AA's.
