I was having trouble with my atty's and bought some carts. UGH. They have this plasticky taste that I can't seem to get rid of, and the vapor is down from what I am used to. I have since been using cut down fluval in my atty's with great success, but what do I do with the carts? have tried filling via condom method, and tried gentle dripping, spinning etc. It still does not taste good. Is it just me? I use a 510.

I don't know about the 510 cartos, but I got some 808 cartos and thought I'd really like them but they tasted awful....like nothing but chemicals. I couldn't stand them. I cleaned them the best I could. I boiled them. I soaked them overnight. I definitely got most of the juice out, but I never got the horrible taste to go away. I even filled a couple with some of my great juice, but it all ended up tasting like chemicals. I finally gave them away to my sister. She didn't seem to mind them. Maybe it was just my taster. Anyway, no matter what I did, I couldn't get rid of the taste...and I couldn't stand it. Maybe just chalk it up to experience. You could join the PIF forum and trade them away for some good juice or something. That's all I know.

I had recently gotten some 510 Boge hardtips and the chemical taste was very strogn for me as well. I washed a couple in boiling water for about 3 minutes and it did help but still a chemical taste.

I also have 510 SLB soft tipped and they do not have this chemical taste, so it does go to show not all carto's are created equal and not all people have the same experience with them.

I have never been particularly sensitive to anything, but maybe it is my awakening taste buds (probably not but it sounds good). I did send an email to the vendor, about that and the drip tip he sent that did not fit, but did not get an offer to replace either. Oh well. They will probably go to the pif or the swap thread.
