Thanks Baditude! I'm definitely going for the Provari - just trying to decide which one or ones.

Anyhoo, two more questions for you guys: with the Provari mini, how big a diff is the battery duration/performance compared with the regular sized one, and which is the *best* Provari vape in your opinion. Meaning if I don't go with the mini - or I choose to get two from this same company, and one is not mini, which would you get?
-Cara
:thumb: You're welcome, Cara.

I have the regular Provari. The default batteries last me most of the day and then the activation button starts blinking to alert me that the battery is low and needs replaced...around 7 pm at nite. I also have the extension cap which allows the 18650 batteries. This configuration lasts me the entire day. I automatically switch out a new battery at bedtime.

Having figured out now that you are a lady, I recommend that you get the Mini and have you simply carry an extra battery or two with you in your purse or pocket (in a protected plastic case, of course. You don't want a battery to contact coins or other metal. http://www.rtdvapor.com/BATTERY-CASE_c9.htm).

The regular Provari in extended mode, although not large as mods go, is pretty hefty in weight and length and not easily pocketable. A Mini is just the right size for a woman's hand. Heck, I'd love a Mini for out-and-about use myself, and I have large hands.

Both the Regular and Mini will give the same performance vape wise. Same inner electronics. Only difference is length of the device and battery time.

ok, so (hopefully) last sort of all-encompassing question before I pull the trigger on at least one Provari: how the heck do I go about buying everything? I want the mini provari, with as much xtra battery power as possible, all necessary accessories, juice that has enough nicotine for a 2-pack a day smoker (i know...uggh) but that I can choose specific flavors - maybe a nic juice AND a sampler of flavors if there's a way to do that (thinking back to that drip method, but trying to work all this into a schedule crazier than usual so not absorbing the info as well as I'd like).

I know you guys can't make my decisions when it comes to where to buy, etc., but basically that's what I'm asking lol! I'm looking for the fastest easiest way to buy everything I need so the order(s) is/are in first thing Mon morning when businesses open and stuff is expedited to me so I have a shot at starting this all up before we leave for Xmas with the inlaws on the 22nd.

Here's the Provari Mini product page. if you scroll way down to the mini color options and click one (I chose blue, but could care less and will make a note with my order to ship whichever's available first) you'll see a TON of options for add ons. Please please help me understand what all this means, as, again, I'm willing to spend the money for sure (spent more money on analogs than I care to consider, not to mention future health costs), but want to know what it all is so I get the right stuff. When I clicked one of the question marks next to an add on - I think it was the atomizer - it said NOT to ever use a "low resistance" atomizer with the mini. That confused me because I thought low resistance was one of the factors making the PRovari so much better because it allowed me to take in more vape per suckage (yep, that's the word I'm using. you're welcome :D)

Here's the link:
ProVari Mini Variable Voltage Ecig: Best Variable Voltage E Cig Available!

I have absolutely no problem buying stuff from other sites as well - be they peices parts (atomizer, carts, etc.) or juice; and juice in particular as there are some flavors I'm interested in after reading stuff on ECF that can only be found elsewhere anyway. BUT I want to get totally set up and ordered by bedtime tomorrow night so it all arrives as quickly as possible. To clarify (i know, i'm all over the place...my husband's a saint, lol) if putting in orders at more than one site is necessary/helpful/better to get the best first experience possible, I'm all over it and will place orders anywhere necessary tomorrow. THat said, I realize there will be plenty more/different I'll want to get as times goes on, so for now it's about placing orders tomorrow so that what arrives early next week (hopefully, or ASAP otherwise) allow me to put together the best setup I can starting out of the gate.

Thank you soooooooo much, you guys are the absolute best, EVER!!!

I have one suggestion, to call one of the vendors list on the provape website and ask them. Maybe someone else here can tell you exactly what to buy but thought I would throw this out as an option.
ProVape Store Locator

I can say that the largest amount of nicotine they can legally sell in juice is 36 mg, all vendors I've used sell 36 mg. To get it higher than that you have to Do it yourself (which I've been told can be extremely dangerous).

Thanks jwark, and I agree, and think that's probably the best option, I just haven't had the time - and wont between today and tomorrow - to run around to actual stores and do it that way. I can certainly make a call, though, but we're leaving in a few minutes for a grad party so unless they have some nicely extended hours I'm not sure I'll reach anyone. Worth a shot though, so thanks. Reason I didn't do that before, btw, is because I imagine there may be some things best bought from one company, others from another, and so on. So calling a proprietary vendor (i.e. ProVape) might not afford me the best info/advice due to the conflict of interest. Ya dig? Anyhoo, good thought, Gotta run, Back as soon as poss to read more!

Yeah, I understand. I've found the vendors to be very helpful myself and haven't felt screwed over by any of them really. I personally like vapor4life but they don't sell provaris. You basically just need to click on the provari at provape's website and it will give you options to add as far as the battery and charger.

You will then need to buy a tank if you want to use one, I highly recommend that. I switched to tanks recently and would never dream of going back to the regular cartomizers. Tanks also require replacement cartomizers. Then you need the juice. So, that's really all I know of that you would need. Most of your money is going to be in the provari, batteries, and charger which you basically just buy what is offered on provape's website. You could get a different charger somewhere else but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know which ones would work. The tanks, cartomizers, and juice are what you might want to buy a few of each to experiment with.

I hope that helps but you've already made the most important decision on what mod to buy imo.

I would try a cheap cartomizer tank and a vivi nova both as juice delivery systems. A lot of people like the vivi nova but it just didn't do it for me. I seem to be in the minority tho. A cheap carto tank from Lj's e smokes will work pretty good. I would get the 5 ml one with metal caps. Also I really think the liquid flavors at high desert vapes are spot on.The frustrating thing with vaping is that in the beginning you have to try so many things to find what works best for you. You have dodged a large part of that bullet by getting the provari up front. Just order as many liquid flavors as you can in the smallest bottles they sell at first so you don't waste money on huge bottles of liquid you don't like. If you try both the vivi nova and a smok tech carto tank you will be sure to love one or both of them and that will just leave you on the hunt for the perfect liquid. Get a 510 atomizer to try the liquids out with. you can just drip a few drops onto the atomizer and take a few vapes to try any liquid without having to fill a whole tank. After that just rinse it out with water and try a few drops of the next flavor.

I'll suggest the following as if I was a newbie starting out but with the knowlege gained from 8 months of vaping:
__________________________

PROVAPE

Mini-Provari - choose color (anything other than satin silver is going to cost a little more ($20). Paying this much for a device, you might as well get the color you prefer. The same holds true for the color of the LED display; default is red (which some say has a harsh appearance), options are blue or green (recommended, easier on the eyes; $15 more). Buy the battery extension cap for the 18490 batteries.

Noalox Anti-Oxidant Thread Lubricant - You may find this in a smaller quantity and for cheaper at a hardware store, but for convenience you can purchase from Provape. Noalox Thread Lubricant
___________________________

RTD VAPOR

Batteries - buy three AW IMR 18350 batteries. AW IMR 18350 3.7V 700 mah (use these w/o the ext. cap)

Batteries - buy two AW IMR 18490 batteries. AW IMR 18490 (18500) 3.7V 1100 mah (use these with the ext. cap)

*The above two sets of batteries will allow you the option to choose between a longer or shorter Mini Provari; each set provides the same amount of vape time (approximately 21-22 hours).

Nylon battery case - buy two Nylon Battery Cases with Carabiner to store/carry your two sets of extra batteries in. http://www.rtdvapor.com/Nylon-Battery-Case-with-Carabiner-nylon-battery-case.htm

Battery recharger - buy one Xtar WP2 II battery recharger. Xtar WP2 II

RTD has a wide selection of drip tip/ mouthpieces available, including the Dream Tips by Cherry Vape and Trippy Tips pyrex glass tips. These will fit on the tanks below, you might consider ordering a couple at this time to replace the mouthpieces that come with the tanks or for future use on a cartotank. Find the product subheadings on the left of the home page. http://www.rtdvapor.com/

GOT VAPES

Juice Carrying Device - buy two Vision STV Vivi Nova tanks. Not a favorite of mine, but an excellent choice of a tank for a beginner. Using these will get you started right away. Just screw off the top and fill with your e-juice. These hold 3.5ml of juice. Chose the color to match your Mini Provari.

NEW GotVapes Vision STV Nova : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

or this one (totally clear and all-plastic):

E-JUICE

Vaprite - Vaperite | E Liquid Flavors and Organic E Cigarette Liquid
Currently offering a 20% discount with discount code "20 OFF" at checkout. Sample flavor packs are available (recommended).

Virgin Vapors - Organically Flavored E-liquid | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes
Also offers sample flavor packs. May I recommend the Organic Kona Velvet Milkshake, my all-time favorite flavor.
ECO Virgin Organic Kona Velvet Milkshake | Virgin Vapor | Electronic Cigarette Organic e-Liquid | Electronic Cigarettes

For a 2 packs-per-day smoker, I recommend to order juices with 18mg - 24mg nicotine strength. Figure on consuming 3-5ml of juice daily.

If you decide upon trying the sample flavor packs, once you find flavors that you like, reorder a larger bottle with your next order.

The above setup recommendations should get you up-and-ready right from the start.

Important, you can never have too many batteries (hense the 5 batteries I recommended). Once comfortable with the new setup, you can look into getting a pyrex cartomizer tank from IBTanked. http://www.ibtanked.com/

I just reread your last post. You don't want a LR atomizer because the provari has an amp limit for safety. You should buy attys and cartos that are 2.5 or 3 ohms. Then you can turn up the voltage on your provari as needed to get the extra vaper. LR cartos and attys are used on non variable voltage PVs to get more vaper because they burn hotter. The Pravari can vari the voltage so no LR needed. Hope this helps. It can all be overwhelming in the beginning but don't worry, all this stuff will become second nature to you pretty soon. Congrats on getting set up for success. The Provari is the only thing I have tried that satisfies me 100%.

just buy a provari. having been vaping for a year, ive tried damn near every mod i can get my hands on and i finally broke down and ordered a provari. they have a blemished black on sale right now for $160. Mine came in and it looks flawless. I would suggest getting some kind of tank to go along with it. I personally use a cheap smoke tech tank with a dual core cartomizer and a good drip tip. It vapes like a steam engine. I would suggest going with a full size provari because of the extra battery life, and it doesnt look as big as it does in the pictures.

Whewy, that's a lot of FANTASTIC info! Thank you guys so much (broken record, I know, but I just literally cannot thank you enough)! It IS extremely overwhelming to me right now, so your step-by-step instructions, repetition of information multiple times in exponential ways - which I imagine must be at least a little frustrating - and all the empathic expressions of support have, for me, seriously made the difference between moving forward and giving up.

Going to *try* placing one or more orders now. I'll be checking back and forth probably a million times in attempts at getting it right before hitting "buy now" or whatever, so don't be surprised by further "wait, what about [this] or [that]?" posts from me, lol.

I like to mention people by username when responding on here, but had to let that go - along with any semblance of attention to grammar or vocabulary, lol - in the interest of time. But each response in this thread has brought me closer to understanding as best I can without the actual experience of vaping.

Thanks,
Cara

Not sure if you know of this little trick. Have two websites up at the same time on your computer screen. First have this thread on the computer then minimize it with the "-" button in the upper right corner of your screen.

Open up your internet browser a second time from your desktop. Go to the various vendor sites from this screen to make your online orders. You can easily switch from one screen to another by clicking on the appropriate page in the taskbar (left or bottom of screen).

ProOrderPg.jpgJust starting now (uggh), bout to pull the trigger at Provape first. Going with Baditude's suggestions as a jumping off point. Here's the order page (somewhere in this post I hope, just added the pic, first time doing that on here though). I'm just a little unclear on whether to get some of the add-ons; I couldn't figure out about atomizers/cartomizers, though I think according to Bad's post the latter would be replaced by a tank...? Could you explain (like I'm a two-yr-old) which to get at Provape (on the linked page or elsewhere) and/or which to get at one of the other vendors you listed? I don't care about saving a buck or two in lieu of convienience, and think I should get whatever's standard even if I do get a tank in addition. Thanks again and again....

I'm all over it, Bad, believe it or not - given my complete ineptitude regarding all things vapetastic - I'm actually the chic my friends call for tech support LOL! Anyhoo, I'm almost there on the Provape purchase, (purple, blue led, extension cap, warranty, atomizer, but: no batts/charger - thanks, that RTD charger is SOOOO much better!) guess i'll get the cartomizer pack just in case, got the cleaner stuff in my cart too. So here I go....

I grouped everything to websites.

With the setup that I recommended, you don't need any other juice carrying devices other than the two Vivi Nova tanks that you will order separately at Got Vapes. So, don't worry about atomizers or cartomizers at this point in time. All your juice will go into the two tanks. All that you need order from Provape is the Mini, extender cap, and Nolox. The extended 1 year warranty (for a total of 2 yrs) is your decision.

Next go to RTD Vapor for the batteries, charger, battery bags, and drip tips. Then Got Vapes for the tanks. Then you get to have fun picking your juice flavors.

2nd EDIT and counting: if you read it before this edit, I figured out that they are, indeed drip tips. Thanks!

You so completely ROCK! I placed the Provape order, now just about to finish RTD purchase, then on to Got Vapes. I literally cannot thank you enough! I'm totally pumped now that the ball is rolling! Still way in the weeds about putting this stuff toether when it arrives (LMAO at the thought!) but mostly incredibly nervous that everything gets here before we leave for our Xmas trip the 22nd/23rd. Hoped to have stuff not only get here by then, but with days to spare getting everything set up. Now I'm just praying I"ll have a vape to bring to my inlaws' house lol!

Hey, btw, anyone/everyone please continue to comment/advise/etc.! I'm not quite as deer-in-the-headlights as in the beginning (thanks ENTIRELY to you guys), but all posts are very much appreciated.

Back in a bit :D

Good call on the provari. Pay once cry once. I'm pretty sure if that doesn't do it for you your going to have to try dipping... ( pause for laughter). I'm not sure if you have the juice taken care of but if not look at blue mist vaping. I just got a sampler pack from them and was very happy with it. I really liked the cafe carmel.

EDIT: Aaaand, done with that part. Sorry for confusion about location of that supplier, they were actually the ONLY ones that had really fast ship options, so I'm the idiot there, lol. On to juices...weeee!

ORIGINAL POST:Ok, last stop before juices: GotVapes. Wow, those tanks look rather intense (i.e. learning curve - not just for the tank but all the pieces parts for the "setup"), but I'm sure I'll be fine once it's all put together. Pretty fuglicious color choices left (others sold out) so probably going with the clear for now. One thing, is this site in the US? I'm sure there's an easy way to figure it out but I didn't see one and was a bit concerned from a few signs to the contrary, since I have to receive everything as soon as poss. Thinking I'll go ahead and place the order at GV but maybe keep an eye out for suppliers with super fast delivery options who also carry these tanks (if they exist, lol). Thanks again, and feel free to let me know if I'm overdoing it on the posts.

I actually chose those tanks because of their simplicity of use with you in mind. Just twist the top off to drip your e-juice into, then return the top. Ready to vape. The carto tanks that others were suggesting actually have more work and a learning curve involved, although I do prefer them, too. Do watch the video review I posted in my previous post of the vivi nova tanks on how they work.
