My wife just bought me a used Blue Ice Omega that I took apart to clean and had almost the same issue. I followed Chad's video step by step, but when I snugged up the first hole and let go, there was no gap at all, it just stayed together! Two minutes later I found this thread, used an old CD as a spacer, and now all is right with the world! Ok, not all, but now I can vape through the crappy parts!

My thanks to Massacre and Chad for a quick and easy fix... I wasn't looking forward to 'fessing up that I broke it first thing!

That is actually an awesome idea! If it were made of Delrin so as not to scratch up the finish, it should be cheap enough to buy another when/if we lose it!

Oooh...this gives me an idea.

How about a gapper tool that can double as a lock? Something that clips into the gap so it can't fire, but can also be used to set the gap size when re-assembling.

It could even have a familiar shape:

I don't have any calipers so I didn't do anything exact, but you get the idea. We've got an in-house rapid prototyping machine at work, so I may try this out for real at some point.
