I love my vanilla juice but it seems to be very thick and dark (much thicker than the menthol I started with) and it gunks up my EVOD coil pretty quickly. I have had to change the coil every other fill. It is called Creamy Dream.

Can you suggest a good vanilla flavor that is thinner. Since it is thick it is difficult for me to fill the tank because I have to squeeze the bottle so hard. I think a thinner juice that I still get a good vanilla flavor would be great for me. I use 12 mg nic, if that matters. Thanks.

Not easy - if it's that thick and dark it probably contains natural vanilla extracts - that's why you like it so much. The price you pay is that especially small coils will clog up in no time. Might wanna go for bigger clearos - or rebuildable ones. Won't prevent the gunking up, but eases the maintenance.

BTW - whats the PG/VG ratio on the liquid you're vaping right now ?

There's clips on youtube on how to rebuild the coils on EVOD's - makes a fine test for your fine-motor skills too :) ...
Spare coils, soak in vodka or get a small ultrasonic cleaner, do dryburns, use up an obscene quantity of spare coils. There isn't a surefire way to prevent gunking if you're hooked that particular liquid. You might give it a try with other clearos ( with that high a viscosity, I would not consider cartos ). Same fluid, different set up, it will taste still like vanilla, but it could be that it looses that certain 'something' you relish in that liquid, or it might even enhance it. Part of the fun of vaping is that you can try out lots of stuff...

There is tons of vanilla flavours on the market - and with 240ish components its one of the hardest flavours to create...

thats why i went to RBA's i like sweet fruit and coffee vapes , the fruits dont hurt so much as long as the sweetness is toned down, but wheres the fun in that and coffee oh dont get me started on that one i think if i sat a bottle of cappuccino next to my clearo's i could see gunk starting to form , for me i use the AC9 the clone is the RSST and also the AL-1 but there are plenty of these to confuse even the biggest ECF guru , i find these types of devices by far the easiest to clean the gunk that will form from your favorite juice , there is a learning curve but when you get efficient its just like swapping out a protank head very easy

If it's thick and dark, there's a 99% chance that there's pure vanilla in the juice (most likely VG extracted). I do my own vanilla extracts (have been for a while) and over time the aging process deepens the caramel shades the vanilla takes on. The more of the vanilla that gets extracted, the deeper it'll get and the higher chance of build-up on coils.

When it comes to pure extractions, whether vanilla or another, RBA's tend to work the best. These extractions taste so good, but they kill coils in days instead or weeks or months (depending on your vaping style).

You can rebuild the Protank/EVOD coils, but it's a tight space to work in and I think RBA's just work better overall.
