I just found this forum after deciding I would give the e cig a try. Smoker for 40 years, time to quit. I have narrowed it down to the Joy ego, kr808 and the Safe cigarette. The safe cig appeals to me because of its ease of use but it is quite expensive. Kr808 seems as easy as the Safe cig. Ego has good ratings but is manual (I'd like it to mimick smoking) and I have to fill cartridges myself, not sure about it. Any suggestions/imput would be greatly appreciate, I am hoping to place an order today. Thanks.

Go for the ego, trust me you will want the manual battery it gives you way more control. I have tried auto's and it just doesn't compare. I thought the same about wanting something that is close to a cig as possible after about a week of just vaping. A cig felt weird in my hand. You will not be disappointed with the ego. Most people will tell you that they prefer a manual battery.

I'd suggest the Joye Ego.

I know the manual battery seems odd to you now, but many folks have enough of a learning curve with the manuals that adding the quirks of an automatic in can make it worse.

While I do not own one myself, I do use the Joye 510 atomiers and they are good quality. (Same atomizer used on the Ego)

Add in that the 510 base is real popular, that means that components are easier, usually means cheaper too, to come by. (The Ego is a 510 with a much larger battery and a cone.)

Good selection of parts & accessories, better chance of good deals on parts, good rep and proven quality, and the manual actually has a slightly shorter learning curve for most folks learning to vape. My opinion...

KR808 and eGo are probably the most popular and widely used PV right now - get whichever one you think suits you best and dont be distracted by flashy websites. A good product will have good spread of reviews across many user-driven sites (not sites attached to the product's website).
I would echo a manual over an auto although some people DO like their auto batts - just be aware that autos have in the past been activated by very loud noises and not just sucking on them. Good luck in your search :)

i have the kr808 and the cigeasy elegant. to be honest the kr808 only gave me about 1-1/2 hours worth of heavy vaping and it took 4 hours to re-charge, so even with the two batteries in the starter kit not continious smoking.
i went with the cigeasy elegant which lasts about 4 hours of chain vaping before needing a re-charge, so two of these in the delux starter kit sold by cig easy will provide non-stop chain smoking. the elegant is a 2 piece system identical to the kr808, uses pre-filled cartomizers, so no need to fiddle around with the thing.
hope this helps.

Something else to keep in mind. I own several different variations on the 510 atty. Some titans, some egos, ect al. You may start with one thing and once you find, (or convert heheh), some friends to vape with you will end up with different, new gear. I think that the ego is a great starter piece, but just remember, if you're a real smoker like I was, it only takes a week or two to pay off your entire investment. With the money you save on analogs you can put it back into vaping supplies until you find your perfect match. Experiment....Enjoy.
