Received my Prodigy on Friday and it doesnt work.....Hasnt worked at all in fact :(

I opened a ticket with puresmoker and was asked to clean it! I woulda hoped it was clean when it was sent......either way....

After hours of messing around,I get my main Yamaha tech to test it with his meter...All is good,Atomizer is bad.

So,I let PS know my atomizer is bad.....Being as im new this was the only one I ordered.....As such im outta action 100%


If I order more atomizers its gonna take another week....Thats two weeks from paying to getting something that works......Im more ...... about the time frame than I am a $10 atomizer.....Can I order / pay for more atomizers + pay extra to get expedited shipping?

Help appreciated :|

Many of the suppliers listed in this forum check their emails on Sunday, many do not. I don't know if Puresmokers offer any delivery other that US Post Office. DietSmokes, I know, does offer UPS and UPS does have a trackable overnight. That still means Tues at earliest for another Atty.

You didn't mention which atty you have 510, 901, or 801. If you got the 801 other threads in Puresmoker section talk about the BE112 and posible sources for that. Such as;

As you read around e-cigarette-forum you will see story after story about DOA atty's. Doesn't help you today, but it is a common problem with all atty's. Suggest you get a multimeter to test each new atty when you get it to have a reasonable idead if they are good or not without using each one. Get and keep at least 5 atty's ahead for the future.

Email a number of suppliers that offer the atty you need and see which ones respond and which ones over overnight, if you want that extra fee. Get meter today and be ready to test all of them once received. Many offer a discount on large quanties of atty, but then don't warranty them.

Do your research, make you decisions, good luck and welcome to the exciting world of Vap'n.

I didnt know / understand at the time how unreliable the attys were...That being said ya woulda thought it being new it would have worked...I didnt get as much as a puff :|

If you want to order in bulk you could also order from Heaven-gifts.com Best E-smoking Shop They offer a 10% discount on 10 and a 15% discount on 20 or more and they give a guarantee of 1 year on the 801 atomizers. If anything fails they will send it out either on your next order or you have to send them $ to cover postage. They are located in China so the cheapest cost for mail is registered $3 and that takes 2 to 3 weeks or ems $15 which takes about a week depending on how large your order is. You also have to send them the defective item back.
 
Atomizers have always been the "weak link" with the e-cigs (IMO). They are easily burnt out or the element breaks or it floods....etc etc.

I don't know about all atomizers at PS I was just relaying was was showing under the prodigy description. PS used to warranty the attys for 14 days, then 7 days. I"m guessing atty's are too much of a wild card to warranty anymore.

That said: How about dropping the price on the atty's, PS? Everyone else has. ;)

You should have 10 spares on you at all times if you are to be categorized as a normal person without a bad vaping addiction.
30 if you slightly addicted to vaping.
50~100 if you are totally addicted to vaping and fear a potential ban.

Get the BE112 from china, they are 7 bucks a piece with shipping, and they perform wonders on high voltage.

Is the atomizer not warrantied at all or is it just not covered under the 6 month warranty that the rest of the Prodigy is covered for?

Maybe Steve or Casey could jump in here tomorrow and clarify this :)

See the FAQ page- atomizers have a 7 day warranty UNLESS they were part of a bulk atomizer order. Bulk orders= no warranty

I get sent a bad atomiser with my starter pack,The prodigy hasnt worked since the day I got it thru no fault of my own.....Website states "All products guaranteed not to be DOA" - Yea,Right!

I offer to take the hit on the atomiser personally and order another 10.....I also offer to pay overnite fee's so I can use the product like maybe Tuesday,Maybe Wednesday.....Puresmoker ship USPS only and cant expedite the order even with me paying for it - The cost here to Puresmoker is simply that someone has to visit the UPS store(A great hardship I know)

Personally,When an error has occurred in my store Im going all out to fix it,Its called customer service and generally it brings people back time and time again.....

So....I get a DOA product
First ticket I open ends up being no help - Im told to clean a brand new product....Ya all send these things out dirty?

Second ticket I open ends up being the same.....

I offer to pay to fix your problem and seemingly this aint good enuff....

MB, I am sorry about the atomizer, and I am sorry that you are not having a good experience with us. I offered to send you a replacement atomizer. We never overnight packages, as I explained because we do not make it to the post office on time for the cut off. There are only 3 of us working here, and we do the best we can to make sure everyone gets taken care of. As for cleaning off the threads- sometimes particles get in there from packaging, shipping, etc. It happens. We have to clean the adapters off to test them before we ship them, but sometimes things happen.

Again, I am sorry that you are not satisfied, but I have put you in for a replacement atomizer, and we never had any intention of leaving you with a product that wasn't working. I'm sorry if this is not satisfactory to you.

How do I get a ticket? Got mine on Friday, emailed Steve on Saturday or Sunday. I've been able to get one or two hits at random and they seemed a bit weak. I'm sure the issue is more than likely something I'm doing or not doing. I'm now going to try and clean the threads and then if that does not work I will try a different atty. I'm open to any other suggestions.

Hey Nori,

Just shoot an email to info@puresmoker.com. You'll hear from me within 24 hours. In the mean time, try a few things:

1. Wipe off all of the threads on the adapter, endcap, and both ends of the tube. Sometimes liquid and dust can accumulate on them and cause the connection between the atomizer and the adapter to be weak. Also very gently wipe off the threads on the bottom of the atomizer with a dry paper towel.
2. Check to be sure that the spring on the endcap is making solid contact with the metal on the bottom of the batteries. Sometimes you may need to bend the top of the spring a bit to make it smaller so that it does not contact the plastic on the batteries.
3. Be sure that all of your batteries are fully charged. Try different battery configurations as sometimes this can be the cause of the unit not working.
4. Test another atomizer just to be sure. Sometimes one atomizer won't work with the Prodigy, or will have burned out.
5. Make sure that the button is fully depressed.
6. Insert the batteries into the unit (with the adapter screwed onto the top) and push them up into the tube. This will cause the switch and the adapter to make solid contact in case they weren't before.

one other small suggestion, try adjusting the tightness of your atty as well. NOT TOO TIGHT though. if it IS too tight, it may not be breathing well, and too lose may be too much air moving through.

and...if it is a new atty, they take a bit of work to "get primed" and going strong. brand new attys never seem to perform quite as well right out, just work with it for a couple hours and see if it starts kicking in.

Force - just curious, what ohm was your atty reading when you tested with the multimeter?

I would be lying to answer that....I run a Yamaha dealership,I have two 5 star techs....After a long period of cleaning something that wasnt dirty as it hadnt been used and doing what PS were telling me to do I took it to them as technically they are awesome.....

PS told me to check the switch / change batteries yada yada.....

The prodigy is healthy,The batteries and switch are healthy.....The thing tests fine except the atomiser.

either way, sounds like you're done trying, and it isn't really my business anyway.
