im dooing great till my girlfriend gets home with smokes then i cave
but im down to a few a day instead of my normal pack a day
cause ive been smoking a pack a day and also vaping quite a bit on top of it for the last year so while i did fail im still happy im down to 3-4 a day again , soon soon im just not there yet

Ahhhh....you need to revise your plan then.....add a preliminary step of 'convert girlfriend to vaping' in order to strengthen your resolve! lol

It's really tough with another smoker in the house. My husband still smokes, though he tries to stay away from me when he does. I can still smell it and I must admit, it smells good and I crave. As the days of being smoke free are beginning to add up, I'm becoming stronger and stronger so as to not spoil my run of smokefree days.

i only like the smell the first 3-5 second then it smells like a dirty ciggy , but that first second when the fresh tobacco ignites before you smell second hand smoke is just SOOOOO GOOOOOOD ,it is hard with one smoking still but like i said 3-4 a day isnt bad for me , its the pack a day plus 2-3 ml of vaping a day that wasnt going to well
at least we dont smoke in our home so i dont have that pressure

it's funny. my friends are so worried about lighting up in front of me that they have even asked if I mind when in their own homes LOL. go ahead. but here, try this first (hand them my pv). sometimes they just vape with me now though instead. giving away a carto is about the same price as a smoke anyway and I always pack spare batteries..

good luck wood, you can do it. fight those urges. just remember everytime we cave to the death sticks, it just enforces the ciggy's will on us. it's like they talk to our brains. the more you ignore their pleading, the less they try to sway you. after 2-3 days the physical addiction is gone. it's bveating the mental aspect after that. 1 vape at a time brutha

Who says you can't enjoy the smell of a burning cigarette still? I catch it in traffic sometimes, or walking down the street, some guy walks by with a cigarette going and I think "Damn that smells good". I'm also lately thinking "Man I'm glad I don't have to smoke that cigarette, it doesn't taste anywhere near as good as it smells.." congrats to you for cutting down!

You need to find what works for you, if you find yourself smoking again then focus on the success you've had, going however long that was without one. The cold turkey approach may end up working for you, but then again you may need something else. Going from 3 packs a day to one is a major accomplishment. If you need to do this in steps then that's fine, but keep in mind that each step is a step forward toward your goal. If you have to smoke again it isn't a failure, but I can tell you that if you believe it is, it will make things much more difficult. So much of this is a mental game and when you focus on the negative the tobacco wins. So just take things as they come and whatever happens it's an advancement not a failure ;)

Wow, maybe I am the exception to the newer vaping croud - I actually can't stand the smell of cigarettes now. I find that if I catch a whiff of it I almost feel like I've stuck my nose in a dirty ashtray. It could also just be that my sense of smell has changed too (ever since I hit my forties certain smells can really make me ill).

But keep your head up wood. One day smokes will be just a memory :)
