You can do this wood.

I'm not going to give you a song and dance about how "if I did it - anyone can do it". Everyone's experience is different.

But I think you are a strong enough person to pull this off. So vape your head off - don't tell yourself your "quitting" the deathsticks - just pickup the ecig instead of the pack.

I believe in you. Do it.

Otherwise I'll have to sick Vapo on you - and you don't want that now - do you?

Good advice. That's what finally worked for me too.I purposely avoided thinking that I quit smoking.I just tell myself that I smoke something different now. That way I avoided the mini panic attacks I would get from thinking about never being able to have something I desperately wanted. It's been almost 3 months since I've smoked a cigarette and I can't say that I miss them much.Good luck man,I hope it works out for you.

i just put it in my head that vapeing is the same as smoking, one analog once in a while will help with the transition. the longer you go without an analog, the more your going to hate the taste of analogs, that alone will help keep you from lighting up.

i was able to just stop analogs, what kept me off was the smell of cigarettes when around my friends that didnt vape.... but i converted them too.:p

if you cant completely quit cigarettes at first dont beat yourself up about it, just think positive and just remember , its all part of the transition.

Even though one's body is probably getting enough nicotine, the first few days are still hard - at least they were for me. I still want an analog and when I'm going through stressful times, I keep thinking they will make me feel better. However, those feelings do pass and I'm always glad when I've beaten down the demon. Hang in there Wood. It will get better and better.

Wood just take it one day at a time. Don't dwell on how many smokes you had, instead praise how many you passed up. It took me over 4 months of vaping to get smoke free and I can now say that as of today it has been 20 weeks since my last smoke. Not too shabby for a 33 year smoker.

Do put pressure on yourself to stop smoking and it will happen all on it's own.

Best of luck.

Just do it. I can tell by your posts you are a strong minded person. the first 3 days of going without is hell... plain and simple. after that the chemical dependancy is basically gone. it's mental after that. vaping tastes so much better. and dumay is pretty close to a dumaurier.

I can't stick to one flavour like smoking. just doesn't happen. I need 2-3 flavours going at all times to make this work. some are ciggy, some are not.

I started a mediation proceding this week and blew my 3.5 month totally smokefree all to hell in the blink of an eye (I'm a slow transition from the start back in 2008), but I'll get back on track soon enough.

I just attempt staying positive by reminding myself I'm not in the same boat I was back then (3 ppd) and still way under my last attempt amount of 1 ppd, but I certainly am not going to beat myself up over it...... my body, lungs, and general stink is doing that enough for me as it is, lol.

Best wishes & kudo's go out to all, both those who have succeeded from the get go as well as those struggling through lingering pangs and relapses. ** If it was EASY...... everybody would do it !
