This is a list of all my current flavors. I can't order anymore until tomorrow and then it's going to take a few days. I'm going to order based on recipes, but I would really appreciate any recipes that can be made with what I have on hand now. I know this is kinda cheating, but if you have time maybe you could help me out.

*All flavors are TFA and so far honestly the only flavors I have liked were candy flavors. I think I prefer sweet LOUD flavors my main vape is Red Hots, but I'm out and have to wait to order.

Absinthe (This tastes like cough medicine or black licorice to me. Not very good)
Banana Cream (I'm pretty low on this, but I do like this flavor)
Banana Ripe (Tastes like a weaker banana cream to me)
Blueberry (I have never been able to taste this one)
Blueberry Candy (never been able to taste this either)
Butterscotch (This smells great, but I think it may take steeping because it is weak in mixes)
Caramel Cappuccino (VERY strong, and I would like this more if I could ever get it sweet)
Cheesecake
Coconut Candy (Tastes like coconut, but a bit odd alone imo)
Ethyl Maltol 10%
English Toffee (Haven't tested this one much. Seems like a few days steeper to me)
Koolada 10% (I like this but obviously not in everything)
Maraschino Cherry (Not a fan of this, by itself at least)
Marshmallow (Not sure what to do with this)
Peach Juicy (A very light taste to me, but I love the smell. Maybe needs steeping?)
Pina Colada (Have not tried this)
Raspberry Sweet (Not good alone)
RY4 Double (I have never let it steep long enough to know if I like this)
Strawberry Ripe (No detectable flavor to me)
Smooth
Sweet Cream
Spearmint (Not been able to mix this very well yet. Would love a spearmint gum flavor)
Sweetener
Watermelon (Absolutely zero flavor.)
Wintergreen (Still to noob to know what I think of this. I do like wintergreen candy)

**So that is everything I have on hand. I would really appreciate any recipes I can make with this stuff. I won't post a thread like this again. I am ordering tomorrow based off of recipes I see and I'm only following recipes from now on till I get a better handle on this.

Thanks

I really like RY4 Double at 8%. I usually add 1 drop of AP per 5ml of juice (works out to .5-1%) for nuttyness (Halo Tribeca Clone). I also like to add 2-3% Caramel and Vanilla Swirl (Bavarian Cream if you prefer) for a sweeter treat. Looking over your ingredients, you could substitute English Toffee and Sweet Cream and it would probably be pretty comparable.

What about Ripe Banana 4% and Ripe Strawberry 6% (guessing on this I haven't used the banana)

3% juicy peach
3% strawberry (ripe)
3% raspberry (sweet)
2% sweet cream
2% marshmallow
That is one of my recipes minus one ingredient, but thats a backnote so I don't think it'd change a whole lot

And Coconut Candy/ Ripe Strawberry, hint of Marshmallow for a Tiger's Blood type (I don't have % on that one since I use FA coconut)

Well, not much in the way of what you have, but if you are ordering...

Raspberry bubblegum. 9% bubblegum, 6% raspberry.

Pina colada. Pineapple 10%, Key lime 3%, coconut 2%.

Key lime flavor is good all by itself at 10% or include 3% champagne.

Capella has the best strawberry flavor hands down. Watkins cherry extract is also very good, as is their root beer.

P.S. The pineapple is a syringe killer, most likely erodes plastic tanks as well...

banana ripe 5% is good, but add strawberry or cream or both!

the blueberrys from TPA your 2 plus the blueberry extra just taste air 2 me too... and i made from 1% to 25% go figure....

ur marshmallow and sweet cream should be used as backnote add .5 to 2 % to taste to add richness and moistness

fruits are only good to me if they are mixed with another fruit.

like wingsfan said, RY4 double is awesome with acetyl pyrazine i mix mine at 15% ry4 and 1% AP

I am going to try that mix clh2121 right now. I will for sure order the AP too. Sounds like an ingredient I've been looking for to enhance flavors. I have no idea what you guys are on about with the banana ripe. I can put that stuff on my tongue full strength and it just tastes like banana. I can't smell it at all. Order some TFA Caramel Cappuccino if you want to know what a strong flavor is like. That one stays in 2 ziplock baggies at all times.

How 'bout 0.5 to 1% of Caramel Cap, 0.5 to 1% Marshmallow, 1% Sweet Cream.

Just guessing on that. I know how strong that Caramel Cap is. You could even toss in some of the English Toffee! Waiting for a steep is no fun, but if it's a yummy vape, so worth it. Do the crock pot thing, or at the least, a hot cup of water, place your finished mix in it, keep the water hot. Like tap hot, not boiling. Shake, shake, shake.

I like the wintergreen as a stand alone at around 5%, reminds me of the life savers. Spearmint is also good at 5%, like Wrigley gum. I might have tpa wintergreen and flavor west mixed up, don't remember lol.

Try:
Strawberry ripe 7%
Blueberry 4%
Sweet cream 4%
Ethyl maltol 2%
VG 40%
PG 43%

Should be good of the bat, but really comes together after a week or two of steep time.

Maybe blueberry and cheesecake

Any of the fruits with sweet cream or marshmallow, or with the Koolada

I've had hit and miss experiences with TFA. I like many of their flavors, some of them over any other brand I have tried. But, I highly recommend you try Inawera. I know it's popular now, but there's a reason for that. Their flavors really are spot-on without alcohol/chemical tastes, for the most part. They also require lower %'s than most other brands (except FA), so you use less in a recipe. I've also had good experiences with Hangsen fruits, if you like fruit flavors.

Ok I tried the first recipe from clh2121. I found it to have almost zero flavor. I think I prefer VERY strong flavors. My favorite flavor right now is Cinnamon Red Hots. Actually the only flavor I have been able to make work. Sadly I just got 3 vials in the mail and like an idiot I only ordered the kind mixed with alcohol which I have never tried and I find it to have almost no flavor and leaves an alcohol flavor in my mouth afterwards. I've upped the percent from my normal 10% to 15%. This crap is costing me a fortune to figure out. Really irritating how there is no way of knowing anything about this stuff without spending the money and trying it yourself. I hear ppl saying oh this flavor is great at 5% then I try it and I can't taste it at 20%. I'm beginning to think ppl have had the same difficulty as I have and instead of figuring out how to mix they just learn to like crap.

I've had the same problems you're encountering. I like strong flavor - I want to be kicked in the taste buds. The problem with this is many flavors develop a chemical taste at higher %'s, or they contain ethyl alcohol and that seems to take a lot of time (like weeks, if not more in some cases, with caps off) to steep. I have also found that heat-steeping (for me, it was in an ultrasonic cleaner) helps. If I read a recipe for eliquid that calls for, say, 10%, I automatically add at least 2-3% to that, if not more. I have spent a lot so far also and PIF'ed quite a bit, and have narrowed my flavors down to a base stash for the most part. If you can give a list of what recipes look good to you, or what individual flavors, I and others can help you select the best flavor for them. I haven't read this whole thread in a while, so I don't recall if someone posted yet this or not, but look at this thread for guidance in selecting flavors and % ranges:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/347885-2012-best-best-diy-flavorings-each-flavor-manufacture.html

It's all trial and error, with error being the main result for a while. I'm new to DIY and still fumbling through it.

If you are going to invest more $$ into DIY flavors, I would try Inawera next. I have only not liked 1 of their flavors so far, and others I PIF'ed because they just weren't what I was looking for. But, their flavors are exceptional. Some people feel that way about FA (Flavour Art), but I have had bad luck with them. Have you browsed this thread yet?

Ha.... this made me laugh. I say this about people who like MBV juices.... (there exceptions) Sending you a recipie.

If your new to vaping, your taste buds may be still trying to recouperate......Mine had taken me quite a few weeks...even months to fully repair from all those years of smoking.

I think it's all about patience and persistence. You will waste money on flavors you end up not being able to work with. I know I sure do. I buy $30-$50 worth a month in flavors, and because I'm still figuring out which ones work well for me, more than half of them end up not being used. I'm still saving a small fortune though, between not smoking and not buying pre-made juice. I still end up with a couple bottles of good stuff.

One thing I'd tell you, don't give up and dump your juice out. If it tastes good right away, go ahead and use it. But those that have no flavor - or awful flavor - may come around if you give them long enough. I made some TFA blueberry (wild) and tested it weekly. Could barely taste it. Two months later, I was going to dump it because I needed and empty bottle. Figured I'd taste it one last time and it was really good! I used up the whole thing last week. Usually fruits don't need to sit long, but this one really blossomed.

OP- Here's a place where folks were going to from another forum to add recipes and there is a program to add the flavors you have on hand and it'll come up with a recipe for you.

Hmmm.... I like strong flavors too. The recipe I posted was a fan favorite ( I DIY for quite a few vapors...) The only missing ingredient was Dragon Fruit (you didn't have it and its not the pronounced flavor...) I created that one while using crappy nic that was muting flavors bad.... I'm sorry it didn't work for you. :(

What atty are you using? That might be part of your flavor issue... Clearo's mute flavor terrible... IMO

    Plus one on this.

A rebuildable dripper will give you the most intense taste. A Kayfun and Taifun will come in second to these. Then maybe a Carto. Then the tanks like the protanks etc. Clearos...the bottom of the heap in my opinion.

I'm using a Protank 2 with a modified aero tank bottom. It might need to steep a bit clh2121. I vaped it immediately. I am not good with steeping. I just want to scream when I look at ppl's suggestions with flavors and they tell you, you need to steep for a month and to "start at 1% flavoring" ...?! So you are telling me it will likely take me half a year to get this flavor where I like it, and I am going to do this all for a flavor I'm not even sure I'm going to like? I can give things a few days to steep, but if something takes longer than a week I need to know exactly what percent to mix at. I know this is impossible, but why? Taste can not vary that much. Else why is any one drink/food/candy/ whatever popular? To hear vapers tell it there should be no single flavor of anything on earth that appeals to more than one person at a time. If ppl's taste varied that much, all food would come with ways to vary the flavor. I don't believe that ppl's taste varies as widely as those on this forum like to say. I think that there are a lot of ppl that give up in the process of mixing and acquire a taste for whatever they are vaping and "oh well I give up" turns into "This is what I intended all along. Taste varies widely. That's why you don't like it."

Sorry, this crap just really annoys me to no end because there is so little information on the subject. No solid information. I feel like I'm asking one of those wise men a simple question and they just keep answering me in riddles.

I know what I have to do to learn this, but I am loath to do it. In order to know beyond a shadow of doubt what works and what does not on my own would require me to set up a lab and 20 bottles of each flavor at least. I'd need to test all the variables and keep meticulous notes. This method would cost me at the very least 100's of dollars. Also to get a clear picture I'd need a panel of ppl to test for me and fill out questionnaires. I can't be trusted to do it alone because I am not impartial. I'd sway results in favor of finding solutions quicker so that I could stop spending so much money and time on a specific flavor and feel I'm making progress. Then a month goes by and I try the same flavor I loved in the test and it isn't as good as I said it was.

You see what I'm saying? This is a huge undertaking and it really annoys the .... out of me that this stuff as been out for years and no one seems to have done this yet. Not talking about you guys. I mean more the flavor sellers. If I was selling flavor additives I'd first want to be at least give ppl one good recipe they work in. It's just stupid to sell flavors that need complex mixing and expect the buyer to do all that. You set yourself up for failure. There are probably many flavors that no one will buy in a year because so many ppl have failed with them.

    This is my whining. lol
