Hey everyone, just made the switch to E-cigs, and when everything is working I'm loving it. I bought a "Volcano Inferno" brand E-cig as my first major purchase (besides a Blu disposable to test that waters) I think my atomizer is having a major leaking problem, but besides that it's pretty great!

Now, on to the actual question. I HATE the tanks this thing came with. They're messy, hard to open and fill, etc. I was wondering what are my other options? I know of drip dips where you apply the liquid manually to the atomizer and then vape the fumes. That doesn't interest me in the slightest. Where can I go from there? Can this device use something like the "lil mama" tanks or something akin to that? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your responses. Keep on vaping!

Edit: I bought a cherry, and a vanilla bean flavored e-juice, and on a whim I combined the two and it tastes like bubblegum! I love it. Can anyone recommend a good Bubblegum flaored e-juice? I think that would be my flavor of choice. Thanks again, guys!

Hi and welcome to ECF. I began vaping using Boge cartos and then graduated to XL cartos. I now solely use tanks.
The diff types of tanks are:
clearomizers- tank with the element inside, can be rebuilt- some love them while others hate them
cartomizer inside a tank- some love them but some have problems with leaking or flooding. Myself I use and love them BUT there are great tanks and horrible tanks out there.
tank with atomizer
Bottom feeders- don't know much about them.
With most of these systems there's a learning curve in regards to the thickness of the juice- too thin and it floods while too thick and it doesn't feed properly.
I'm using tank/ carto and the carto hole is 2.5 mm wide. My juice is 60/ 40 PG/ VG. Cartos last 2+ weeks.
Good luck.

For those of us vaping in the 2-3ml per day range XL sized cartos are a good choice. A tank really isn't needed. Plus, it's easier to pocket carry without a tank.

I vape 2ml per day and refill two single coil 2.0 ohm LR XL cartomizers every evening. I use Smoktech low resistance XL sized cartos. I hear that they hold more juice than the Boge XLs. Smoktech XLs each hold about 2ml of liquid. I don't like to vape much more than 1ml of juice from each of these Smoktech XLs to avoid burning.

It's easy to cap and carry around the second carto for later use. They don't leak.

Sounds like a Stardust would be just what you're looking for.

Yes, I just looked into these after reading this and that's exactly what I would like. Will they fit onto my Inferno (I believe it's just like an eGO) Where do you normally purchase them from?

Thanks to everyone else that replied, as well. You guys make jumping into the world of vaping so much easier for us noobies!

If you want to be an "early adopter", you can check these out, from gotvapes.com. They come with 3 coil/wick heads and you just replace the heads for about $3.50 when they burn out. The wick and coil heads look alot like the Stardusts everyone likes so much.
As soon as the metal replacement tanks are available, I'm going for them cuz I love the vision stone 3 tanks and these are an improved version.
You might also look at the phoenix cartomizers or the fluxomizers. They use a kind of plastic that doesn't crack with acidic juices, they're easy to fill and they hold a good amount.

Yeah, I saw those and they look awesome. I think they look ridiculous on an ego though. But they're just what I was looking for on my SS Lavatube. I'm going to give it a few weeks and see what the reviewers say first.

Yeah, I use the similar Vision Stones now on my Lavatube and they're awesome, but they do look dumb on my eGo looking Firefly. The problem with stuff like this from gotvapes is that it's hard to find anywhere else and it ends up being in stock for 3 days and out of stock for a month. The last time they got parts for the VS, they were gone in one day. I think the only reason these aren't sold out already is because everyone is waiting for the metal tanks to arrive.

Unless you are looking for a one-fill-a-day solution, it's hard to beat just using a 510 cartomizer and refilling as needed. I have never had any consistent luck with clearomizers and other tank-like cartos, and tanks with punched cartos have lots of pitfalls, primarily leakage.

I went back to regular boge 510s for the longest time after the clearos started coming out. I also tried carto tanks and, you're right, they're a pain. But the newer clearos are much improved and the carto-less tanks are just fantastic. The occasional minor and temporary leak is far outweighed by the ease of filling and the taste improvement. I tried a boge 510 for the first time in months the other day. Yuck! I can't see going back to them again. I'll recommend them to newbs, just to get their feet wet, but I'm done with 'em.

I use atomizers and either drip, or use the so-called "smart carts". Best flavor IMO with atties. Since you said you don't like dripping, these smart carts are "mini-tanks" (around a ml of juice) that you fill with a syringe. I've found them to work well and not need a bunch of o-rings or other nonsense. They don't have that "carto taste" either, since they are designed for an atty. And they are made for and sized for standard 510 atties... no punching holes or other nonsense.

I should note I'm using them at 5 volts too.

Anyway, as with most e-cigs stuff... you have to experiment to find a fit that's right for you. Just search for "smart cart".

They have a wistle tip. This is what they look like: http://www.kingpincigs.com/e-cigare...o-trex?zenid=f4f2f3c47c8d33ed64c53175bf4170d9
(If that site is scrambling urls it's losing business...lol. However, google "smart cart e-cig" and see if that link doesn't work. Several vendors sell them. However, there are a couple of kinds called "smart cart", I think, including an eGo specific one that I'm not talking about.)

I'd second the rebuildable being the least faff option once you've set it up (which can take anywhere from an hour for a newbie down to 10 minutes for a 2 month amateur like me). My stainless steel mesh/coils last me 3-4 weeks at least, though I'm only on my third month with them and just rebuilt because I was bored, have yet to get one to a stage where it produces a bad vape or dies on me. Refilling is as simple on most of them as unscrew, put your spiky top bottle or syringe in to fill, rescrew, no leaks, no mess, no changing stuff around every few days and no flooding like I had with carto tanks.

Its obviously the most expensive upfront option but overtime it equalises and becomes cheaper if you use it long enough, the mesh/wick + wire only cost about £15 UK money, considering how overpriced stuff is in ripoff Britain and VAT I'd say its $15 for 1-4 years of consumables, after your $50-100 intial outlay on the tank.
