hi,
i been using a 510 and if I use it pretty much all day all I get this polyester taste in my mouth that lasts for a day or two, Ive cut the polyester in the cart in half or maybe smaller but still end up having that taste. I am considering using the pyramid tea bag mods, does that get rid of that aftertaste?

Sounds like there still may be primer on the atomizer. How long have you had it? If its brand new, then give it some time and the taste should go away soon.

I've had an atty that was just that way. It works fine, but I don't use it because of the plastic-y burnt taste it makes.

Sometimes it is the fill. If you have some pyramid tea bags, it's pretty inexpensive way to narrow down the problem.

I had the same problem over and over with the 510. To get away from the burnt taste, I tried dripping, also the drip tips, but all in all the whole process was too messy, too aggravating and I had to refill way too often. I switched to a KR808D-1 about 2 months ago and couldn't be happier. I refill my cartos 3-4 times with my favorite e-juices and then throw them away. I also bought an 8 second cut-off Extra Long battery from Vapor4Life and a Mega Battery with 380 mah from Nhaler so I can go all day without all the mess and fuss.

When I get a sort-of dry, burnt taste, it means one of two things.

1) need to refill the cartridge

2) I've been pulling too hard or too long, or I need to give just a bit more time between puffs. Do you notice your atty is hot when this happens?

Keep the cart filled up and dont let the attie get dry. I use the PTB and dont have a problem with them, right now im using cartomizers

So when i switch to cherry it tastes the same as the original (marlboro) carts. Sometimes I can catch a hint of cherry if I do a primer puff. Maybe I need better quality liquid, the ones they sell where I got it doesnt say what brand they are.

You might also try Cartomizers. Some people try them and love them. Of course some people try them and don't. But for the small price of a pack, you might give them a shot.

I do carto mainly but still hit a cart once and a while.You might try replacing the poly in the cart with "Stainless Steel" Steel wool or the "Stainless Steel" screen mod. I never was able to get the S.S. screen mod to not leak myself. I use S.S. steel wool for carts and never get funky tastes.

I agree, get a pack of 510 cartomizers, one carto usually lasts me a couple weeks then I just toss and get a new one or you can wash them out. No more burnt taste, no leaking once you master the filling which is a pretty quick learn and more time between fills.

It can take a number of drags before a new taste cirulates through the atomizer.
The atomizer actually holds a fair amount of juice.

This is also why after you clean an atomizer you need to prime it with a number of extra drops.
Or if you just put a cartridge on it, make sure to let it soak in for a few minutes.

I sometimes blow out my atomizer if I am changing to a non-complimentary flavor.

As for the polyester taste in your mouth, I have never heard of that.

I know that when I used polyfill cartridges, and when I tried cartomizers, they messed up the taste of my juice. I never really got any polyester taste, though, just the flavors of my juice were muted and somehow changed for the worse.

And I've never had ANY taste from an electronic cigarette last more than a few seconds.

So yeah, I'm wondering if something is wrong with your juice.
Or maybe your imagination.

I agree with both you and Thy. Dripping is the bomb diggity!! It takes a little bit at first to get it down but in the end it's way less work and tastes better too.

Would like to try but afraid of ruining the atty, as I am only rolling with 2 attys at the moment and would hate to ruin one!

I used to take the cartridge on and off, but then I started using a pen grip instead.
And recently I have started using the drip tips.

How many drops do you use?

Depends on the atomizer, and the juice, and the size of the drops.

People generally use anywhere from 2-4 drops.
You'll figure out pretty quickly how many you like to use.

I use 2-3 drops for my 510 depending on how many drags I took on the last drops.

Dripping won't harm your atomizer in any way, no matter what anyone says.

You might very well flood your atomizer a few times here and there.
But all you have to do is blow it out and you're back in business.
