HH.357 stuff

Heya,

Seeing how everyone thinks this is the be all end all atty, think I'll give it a go. Just questions first:

1. Why so much caution for noobs? (I've been vaping for about 6 months now - pretty comfortable on my 2.0ohm 510 Cisco's)

2. Which HH.357 should I get? Custom? Long Barrel?

Caution for n00bs: It doesn't behave like other attys. It requires a short hard draw to make it work right - it tends to be a little spitty if not fed perfectly - it's expensive so if it dies early due to an inexperienced user not understanding that it behaves differently than other attys, it's tough on the wallet.

If you have a specific juice PG/VG ratio you always use, the custom might be worth it. Otherwise, probably not. - For a REO, I think you'll appreciate the long barrel due to the fact that they can be spitty. More distance between your tongue and the coil means less juice getting to your tongue when you overfeed it a little and it spits.

Yup. Follow the maintenance instructions from Avid and it's more likely to last a long time. I have one that has been in daily use since 1/24 of this year. It has consumed ~500 ml and is still performing like new.

I'd say get a 2.0 to start if you like 2.0 attys(I prefer 1.5s but I like hot vape).

Short ones with a Cherry Vape Universal drip tip gives you more options to avoid spitting (use it when it spits, use anything else you like when it doesn't). Not all spit and when they do it is usually just the first few days. The new V2s they are now shipping may not even spit. My first one doesn't. IMHO shorts are easier to clean, don't stick up so far, and look better on REOs.

Another thing, if something happens to your HH357, be aware that Avid will do NOTHING to help, and neither will the guy that makes them. Youre pretty much SOL. At least in my experience anyway. Pretty sad that such an expensive product has NO customer service to back it up.

Thats strange since it seems like lots of people have gotten superb customer service from Hanna and Avid both just what I've heard though

Just tell him what your experience has been thus far and ask if he can do anything to help. The worst he can say is no. I'd also advise you to omit any critical or negative turns of phrase, even though you feel that way.

I've had dealings with Hanna long before he started selling his atomizers through Avid Vaper and he was always upbeat, supportive, and helpful.

You have nothing to lose by trying.

I got a set of these after vaping only a month and a half and didn't find them any harder to figure out how to use than it was just learning to vape itself. While the two I have have lasted this whole time (4 months now), I dropped one (while attached to my Reo) and knocked it off the connector. I tried to press it back on, but won't seem to go back on straight. It does still work, but I notice that after a draw on the atty, the juice floods back into the cup much faster than it used to.

All in all, its a nice atty, but pretty expensive (even more so if your clumsy like me), as well as frequently out of stock. Instead of waiting around all the time for them to get restocked, I decided to go with an Empire Mods LR 1.5 for $5.99 each. I'll have to do a comparison review thread when I get the new EM attys in.

Cisco & Hanna have very good customer service. Even after 2 years of atty experience my type of vaping is extremely hard on attys and have killed too many 357s but the blame does not fall on the atty...I beat them up pretty hard so as much as I feel they have the perfect draw, flavor & vapor of any atty I have ever had I can't justify buying anymore.

I really like the vape the HH357 produces but I inevitably end up with large amounts of carbon burned onto the coil after a while. How do you guys that have long running 357s avoid this? Alcohol seems to work ok for clearing out old juice but doesn't seem to touch the carbon. I know dry burning is not recommended but its the only way I've found to remove thick carbon buildup though the atty is never as good as it once was afterwards its usually slightly better than it was vaping with a charcoal briquette around the coil.

Contact Hanna/Avid and let them know your problem. They will probably ask what juice @ what %VG/PG. Then can either give the best advice or suggest a custom 357.

Not everyone swears by them, but I do . I build my own atties, by the hh357 is a main staple in my vaping. My first 2 got me through 5 months or so. My third is a 3ohm, and I have used it every single day since the first of january and it's still going strong. The other side of it is some people are not impressed... To each their own. 22 bucks is not a super big deal to me to take a gamble on a possible game changer.

I give my attys a good PGA soak to get the juice out of the wick and mesh then use a really,really sharp needle (sewing machine ball point) and chip the carbon off. Slight pressure with the needle point knocks off fairly huge hunks of carbon. With persistence, it comes back almost as good as new where I can see the coils and I have two I am using right now for months that I have done this multiple times.

The two times I tried dry burning, the atty never vaped the same and died soon thereafter.

I have slowly switched to ejuices that don't build up as much carbon and if you are diligent about keeping it wet while vaping, the carbon doesn't build up as fast.

+1 on everything juice junky said, my cleaning habits and experience with dry burning is exactly the same.

Yepper, I haven't dry burned any atomizer in the last 18 months.
I must be lucky or vape the right juice, or both because I never get any build up on the coil.
I alternate vodka soak one time then steam clean the next. I clean my attys every 6-8 ml at the longest.

I've never killed an HH-357 and only had 3 atomizers die on me ever in the last 2 1/2 years.
2 were IKV and one Joye. All the rest still fired and made vapor when I retired them to the emergency bin.

The one I have left I hardly ever use because I like to vape my juice not drink it lol. It is like I could not find a happy spot for them either they are to dry and I get no flavor or they are to wet and I get no vapor. Doesn't matter if it is on a feeder or I am dripping. I do love their 306's though.

Break out your HH 357 and tap it on a hard, flat surface, connector side down, several times. As hard as you can without losing your grip on it.

Then see how she vapes.
