Hi all - Grandma vaper new here

I was doing some research for my vaping blog and found this forum. So I thought I'd join in!

I quit smoking about six years ago; three years after I quit, I SO wanted to go back to smoking again due to some "stresses," so hubby started bringing me home disposable ecigs to try.

After trying a few, I settled on the LOGIC brand of rechargeables. Oddly, even though I smoked a "knock-off" Marlboro Light 100s non-menthol, I preferred the menthol brand of ecigs.

I used the LOGICs for about two years, then to save money, I switched to eGo with refillable Clearomizers and I've used them ever since.

I stick with the 1.2% nicotine level, but sometimes our local vape shop only has the 1.8% available so I'll use that. I'm kind of hooked on one brand of ejuice that's absolutely perfect, even better than the LOGIC cartridges. I haven't found a substitute yet for my favorite liquid.

I tried making my own - BIG FAIL.

Anyway, I know why I vape - to keep from going back to smoking! I haven't had even one "cheat puff" since I quit. Medically, I simply CAN'T start smoking again.

Why do you all vape?

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I vape so I won't go back to smoking and because I simply enjoy it.

The stench, the expense, the coughing, and just the general nastiness of cigarettes makes me not to ever want to go back to stinkies.

Oh, I know! Before I quit smoking, I started rolling my own to save money. After six months, the cough was so horrendous I almost went back to "regular" cigarettes! Instead, I quit. Best thing I ever did!

Aah... So this is Squonking. I don't think I'd like that too much. I had a hard enough time getting used to pushing a button to vape!

Yep that's it. Excellent flavor though, but I prefer Atty's that have two post on the build deck. Three post or more confuse me. I like simple Micro Coil and I use regulated Squonk Mods DNA 25 or 40. You can now get an Atty that uses Aspire BVC Coils which I found cool. But it is different I will admit. I'm a Grandpa and not looking to blow large Clouds just really like the different flavors and enough vapor to make me think I'm smoking.
Enjoy

Anything more than my little eGo confuses me!

Like you, I'm not into billows and billows of vapor clouds. I'm vaping to keep from going back to smoking, period. ;)

Welcome @logicalvaper to ECF :) I vape cause it is the only thing that has really worked to get me off those nasty cigs.

Thanks! Yes, it keeps me off of those nasty cigs!

In fact, my son (now 35 yrs old) REFUSED to give mommy a hug until I quit smoking. Needless to say, it was many, many years until I got a real hug from my "little boy." That alone keeps me from going back to smoking! ;-)

I'm nearing the 2 years mark. During that time I smoked a couple to prove to myself the days of cigs were over. Tasted terrible, gave me a headache. In another 4-6 months may be I could quit vaping too without a risk of relapse to cigs. Time will tell. I'm not sure I want to do that though. My last relapse came after 10 years of not smoking. That can't happen again. I'm more effective at interesting current smokers in vaping if I'm doing it. Those people are pretty permanent good friends if I helped them swiitch. I wouldn't save any money. I rebuild and DIY is $30 a year.

Loved your video! I smoked for 42 years (13-55) and never even attempted to quit because I thought it would be impossible. While buying a carton of smokes I saw a cigalike and decided to try it on a whim. That was four years ago. I'm so glad I found ECF and learned about much better options. Best of luck to you!
