Hi all - I'm new...

New here, but not new to vaping. I quit smoking cigarettes and started vaping along with my husband two years ago. I do have a question for starters... Is anyone familiar with Humble juice Co? I really like their Dreamer juice, but it kills my coils... Do you know any juices that compare to their prices and flavor of Dreamer (blueberry/raspberry cotton candy) or is there any way to keep thick/sweet juices from burning your coils out too soon? Thanks in advance!

There's a reason why we call 'em coil gunkers. it's one of the accepted drawbacks of vaping those kind of e-liquids.

Welcome to ECF. :)

HI and welcome. Unfortunately @retired1 is correct. You have three choices: live with it, change juice, or learn how to build coils. I personally recommend the latter. It isn't all that hard to do and is a lot cheaper. As in a lot cheaper. The cool part about it is the wicks must be replaced but the coil can often be reused. I have coils over a year old; just burn them clean and re-wick every two weeks or so. If this interests you I, or any number of others, would be happy to get you pointed in the right direction.

You can either DIY with less flavor, or mixing less sweet flavors (though that may be less satisfying, it is cheaper, and may help you live with more gunked coils, or less sweet juice) or try rinsing/cleaning coils if they gunk up quickly. That said, building your own coils will help as well.

Best of luck, hope you find what you are looking for.

The cotton candy taste is going to be the issue for you. IMHO.
Typically the cotton candy taste comes from ethyl malthol, which is a sweetener. The sweetener is what sticks to your coil causing it to gunk faster.
You may be able to find an alternative but alot of commercial juices use high amounts of sweetener to help sell juice.
I would say get some DIY supplies and try to make the juice yourself, again cheaper by far. I also second the build your own coils, cotton is cheap. I rewick my coils every few days for a fresh clean taste, and it cost like 30 cent using decent stuff.
Good luck on the hunt.

Thanks for the welcoming responses and advice! I'm going to try making my own coils and see if it improves at all... I really like the flavor and prices of Humble's juices so it might just be something I just have to accept like one person pointed out.

I think I'm ready for an updated mod as well... I noticed that it started tasting burnt more often lately and figured it was primarily the juice causing it, but I've had my mod for around two years now and the paint is chipping off/tank leaks around the air vents too.

For reference I have the Wismec Reuleaux RX200 Mod by Jay Bo, use the Uwell Crown Sub Ohm Tank with Uwell 0.5 ohm coils and hover around 50w with the airway open fully. The current coils last almost two weeks before they start tasting burnt. How often do you have to change RDAs? I'm looking at the Smok GX350 Kit as a replacement - from YouTube videos they look comparable. If you have experience with one, how does it perform? I hope you're all having a great day - thanks again!

Thanks! I'll hit you/the forums up for advice on building coils sometime in the near future. :) Hoping to get a new mod sometime soon too. Any suggestions? I'm a complete noob when it comes to building - husband has done it in the past, but he switched to pre-made coils after having issues himself.

Welcome and glad you joined.
No way that I know of.
I use RDA's, a wick change cost me a penny's worth of rayon (Sally's Beauty Supply 500 ft. of Graham CelluCotton) and a couple of minutes time to pull the old wick out and replace with new.
I use only deep well RDA's (Magma, Origen V1 & V3 ) which hold a mil or more of juice and last me, 45 min. to an hour or more before refilling (1.5-2.0 ohm single coil).

I'm still using my RX200s-- I have 3, I think-- but the Smok product you mention is well thought of. At 50 watts, practically anything will do, but you will miss the longer battery life of the RXs unless you get a big mod. For a tank, take a hard look at either a Serpent SMM or an Augvape Merlin. Or both, of course :) Both are single coil tanks and are easier to learn on than duals. That Smok mod, BTW, will almost certainly come bundled with on or another of the "Beast" tanks. These are good (ish) tanks, and have an RBA adapter so you can build coils. However they also have the reputation of being finicky to build on and will leak unless the wick is perfect. Not a tool, IOW, for a learner. Might also want to take a look at a Sinuous Predator 228. It's a dual battery machine, with all the usual bells and whistles, and I like mine. Mine came unbundled with a tank, so you'd be free to try anything.
