Well hi all, new to the forum and vaping.
And here's the story so far. I got a starter kit, vision ego V3, very cool, delivered the next day! Now being the impatient type I just filled the clearomizers and started vaping, lol. No checking forums and looking for tips, not until things started to go wrong of course :) So far, in 3 days, I've managed to break one clearomizer, make myself shake with nicotine OD and nearly blown my lungs out with dry hits...did I mention I'm the impatient type?
Now I've learned to tip and twirl a bit so as to soak the wicks, I've also added a couple extra wicks (thanks to a great YT vid I found) but....I'm still struggling a bit. I came in half hour ago, tipped, twirled, waited, took a long slow pull...nearly ripped my throat apart! Now I'm sat here looking nervously at my shiny new Ego. Sometimes I get a nice smooth flavourful hit (melon from a uk company called Wiz) other times it's just plain horrible. Of course after a throat ripping hit it takes a while to recover but all in all the experience is very nerve wracking, I can't seem to find a reliable way to vape to avoid the horrible hits. I've ordered a couple of replacement coil/wick heads at 2.4 instead of the supplied 1.8 (should get here tomorrow) so I'm going to try and start again from scratch with the few things I've learned from this forum. I'm stuck with the high nic content juices I bought for the moment as I'm a bit broke. I'll let you know how it goes :) In the mean time, any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Maybe clearomizers aren't going to work out that well for you. They didn't for me...and were too much hassle imho. I like to use a carto-tank. Once you get the priming thing down...it's virtually no hassle, no burn/dry hits and really really HARD to break! I've been using them about 2 years now. Won't even touch a clearomizer now...although I've dabbled with RBAs a bit (different sort of critter from a clearo, though).

Thanks for the advice! lol, now I'm going to have to look through a VAST amount of info on all kinds of things! I didn't realise there were so many different things I could attach to the ego. What surprises is me is how cheap the different kinds of tanks seem to be, looks like I'll be able to experiment without breaking the bank too badly. Right, let the research (that I should have done before) begin!
And thanks for those links Baditude, looks like they're going to help a lot :D

Welcome Lobsterhead.

I started with V3 clearomisers and killed them all in super-quick time.

Then I got into Vivi Novas and killed them pretty fast in all honesty.

Me and the famous baditude have exchanged comments before about carto tanks. I always have one or two on the go; filled with nasty hard-hitting tobacco-type vape liquid. Dial it up to 8 or 9 watts and puff myself to happiness.

I use almost everything from time to time and have a collection of tanks/clearomisers to see me through the prohibition, should it come. I love 'em all, Carto tanks, rebuildable atomizers, drippers, clearomisers.

The only things I gave away and never replaced were Ce4 and Ce5 clearomisers and Mini Vivi Novas. :)

Thanks again for the advice :) I'm now looking at tanks, admittedly because I'm lazy and like the idea of not refilling too often :D The one that has caught my eye is the Boge F16 bottom coil, see? so lazy I don't even want the bother of having to tip it, lol.
On a good note I had a whole hour this evening when my v3 clearomizer seemed to work perfectly. I was tipping it after almost every pull and getting lovely smooth flavourful hits every time! Then I wasn't...sighs..oh well. Damn thing seems to have a mind of it's own, definitely going to move on from them.

I promise I'm not affiliated with Halo (despite what my friends may think since it's all I've been talking about since I got it) but it was my introduction into clearomizer vaping after those cheap gas station ecigs and I can't describe how easy and amazing the experience has been. As a newbie in the vapor scene the Triton kit really made me see the light.

Again, just offering an alternative product that definitely helped me get a positive first impression of the vape scene. It's extremely straightforward to use.
